INCIDENT REPORT:

Cortex found himself severely lagging in productivity as of late. With his worry over his friend it was nearly impossible to stay focused. It was a weight that constantly sat upon his shoulders, a weight that was constant and everlasting.

"Assistant?", he called out tiredly, walking among the shelters they'd built in Monoceros, trying to find his other friend.

He needed a distraction, needed to find kinship in someone else who understood this deep set sorrow. Cortex might come across as stoic or even emotionless at times, but he wasn't. He felt just as clearly as everyone else and it weighed on him just the same. He just didn't show it like most did.

"There's nothing I can do," he mumbled softly, Researcher's illness and symptoms clear in his mind. She was suffering and Cortex could do nothing to stop it. His photographic memory was a blessing and a curse, for while he could remember plants and sequences easily, he also remembered how she suffered like he was watching it happen before him.

He would remember what she looked like as she was dying, unable to help, forever.
