Max was content. As they grazed idly among the fields of Pegasus (too close to the Forge despite being on the entirely opposite side of the massive cave), pulling and munching on the grass beneath them as they lay on their side, arms in front of them and legs sprawled to the side.
They ended up laying down and rolling around like they did as a lamb, grunting and purring happily as they scratched their itches and covered themselves in the scent of Pegasus. Their tail shook happily as they stood on all fours, shaking themselves out and sending grass leaves flying.
Max shook their head and bucked, kicking out their legs as they bolted forward, snorting as they got out all the pent up energy that kept them from truly relaxing. But now that they had, they flopped down again, sleepily curling up beneath a tree, the smell of flowers in their nose and birdsong in their ears.
It was nice.
my only sunshine
Four wings, a serpentine body, and two arched horns. He's a wanderer, drifting from cave to cave like a leaf on the wind, not settling anywhere or with anyone. A wanderer running from an arena of blood and death he was too young to understand, one that scared him into flight. A flight all the way here: Pegasus.
Delicate wings fluttered as Simon touched down on the ground. Wildflowers surrounded him, stretching off into the distance. Wispy cave clouds crawled overhead. Off on a nearby hill he could see a large tree.
More whispers joined the mix, coming from someplace he could only describe as his own stress.
Simon slithered through the grass, his tongue occasionally flickering in and out to catch scents on the wind. Wait-- is that someone else under that tree? His eyes widened in curiosity and he totally forgot about his previous ambling. An adventure! Albeit a fairly mundane one, but still an adventure! Simon (the second) shall find out who that gembound is!
when skies are gray
@Maximus
Maximus jumped about a foot at Simon's voice, taking off into the trees in a panic. After a few moments he skid to a halt and turned around to peer through the trees, not hearing anything crashing after him. Not Draconua, not Vargas, and not any of the others.
Running from what? A monster? Danger?
They were wary, understandably, both of Simon and whatever he was running from. He was monstrous in shape (as in, not an animal, and the only other thing Max knew were Valkhound and the like) and so could possibly be part of the Forge. But then again there were plenty of gembounds just mulling about the caves who were like them in terms of oddly put together.
