Zoisite answered him-! And then, the sheer power of their jaws gently cracked a pumpkin. With almost a swoon, Legba considered his next move. He'd already sidled over, which was--he was sure--very charming. He'd winked three of six eyes.
That one seemed solid, so he did it again.
"Welllll," he crooned, "someone so lovely can't be left without their seeds!" There was a fine line between flirting and compliment, and Legba was not entirely certain where it stood, and he didn't particularly care, either. He gripped for another pumpkin, himself. He had a balloon to pop, but for Zoisite-? Could he get them some seeds, as a prize?
Their own throw missed, and their pumpkin utterly exploded, and if Legba hadn't been swooning before--well, he was now.
"So, you have a family, huh? Good of you to look after them. I think family's so important," he went on, winding up his own throw and not commenting on Zoisite's miss. "I'm Legba, by the way, and it's a pleasure to meet you." The word was far more drawn out than was strictly necessary, but rather than somehow improper, it was mostly just overenthusiastically warm.
He narrowed six eyes at the targets, taking far more careful aim this time, and lobbed his pumpkin yet again.
It was another miss, and for a moment he was disappointed but then he saw a silver lining: maybe it meant he'd have an extra moment or two to talk to this new multi-legged idol?
"So..." he tried, mind racing. "You grow things, huh?"
@V-Zoisite-One (he sucks at throwing i'm sorry)
Renasci
"Okay, lemme- hyargh!"
This one is thrown with both hands, overhead- lets see this goulish gourd fly! They don't pay much attention to anyone else- unless the projectile winds wide and flies towards any of them...
The effort behind the throw hets their whole body to coil, and wings to flutter- are they being extra! Yes. Do they care? No. Their tiny body is full of energy, destructive energy at that. Stop them if you dare.
"Zoooey," he crooned, and if he hadn't already expressed that it was a pleasure to meet her, he'd have done so then.
"Farms... flowers," he mused, lining himself up for yet another shot. This time, he spared only a glance at the targets: his many eyes shifted back to Zoisite, because he wanted to look cool if and when he hit, this time. Plus, he only had eyes for the magenta monster, now.
'Farms' ticked some faint innate knowledge in him, something of growing plants and food, but he'd never actually seen one. Flowers, at least, he knew. "Well, maybe I should see this place, some time. Cetus has plenty of plants, you know... if you'd ever like to visit," and he winked three eyes, for the third time. At this point, it probably looked like he had some kind of eye problem. "Swamp plants, mind you. Smelly things, but healthy things. I use some, in my work," and his voice had gone low and purring. He didn't explain what his work was, and instead, he used three of six legs, now, to again chuck the pumpkin.
Without looking, of course.
He had to look cool.
This time, he heard the clink and pumpkin-thud of a solid hit, and yet again he winked too many eyes. "That one's for my new friend Zoey," he declared. And then--because he still had to look cool--Legba took a few sauntering steps away.
"Maybe I'll see you 'round some time. You're always free to visit. I could show you what I do," he said, and waved one hairy leg. "Ta ta."
@V-Zoisite-One (have a pumpkin spell?? i guess-)
exit Legba, unless spoken to further!
To Zoey's delight, Legba seemed curious and even-- dare she believe it-- interested in the flowers and plants that she spoke about. He mentioned Cetus, which... she was vaguely familiar of, in passing more than any genuine experience of the place.
"I could visit," she nodded with some enthusiasm. The plants that lived in Cetus were probably quite different from the ones she was used to... Just as Cepheus, Eridanus, and Pegasus all had their own unique plant-life.
... it was going to be a while before Zoey could make that kind of trek, though.
Zoey was about to ask what "work" Legba did-- (and why did the phrasing of 'work' make her think about Venari's 'work'?) --but she didn't get the chance. Legba chucked a pumpkin with fierce precision, and she watched the arc go flying into the target.
Oh...! It was such a good shot. He made it look so easy, even after their countless combined misses. When he announced that the shot was for her, for Zoey, his new friend, the only emotive part of her responded: quills rattled with surprise.
"... Thank you," she said as he retreated, acting all mysterious. "I'll visit, some day. I promise," she insisted. "Goodbye, Legba."
Now, Zoey had... well... she had a lot to process, but at least now... Monsieur Greaseball directed her to the balloons, to pop one for its... special reward. He was even so kind to let her scrape together some of the seeds from the splattered corpses of the pumpkins. It would be a shame to waste them, after all.
It was time to go home and plant some seeds, and maybe she could digest all of what had happened in this strange, curious place.
@Legba for visibility! zoey's exiting <3
