tori got frozen and then immediately passed out for an unknown span of time.

but when she woke up, there were cookies. sick!

she scrambled out of the remnants of the frost she'd been trapped in, and grabbed a cookie, trying not to step on any fingers. "thank you!" she chirped, because dad said it was rude to take something without saying thanks.

she dug in, giggling. "tastes like mint. love these things." she remarked, completely enthralled in cookie.

she padded off, giggling. welp, that was anticlimactic.

It appeared as though some people actually knew what a cookie was. In fact, it looked like they were all about to learn what a cookie was. Fun!

Cookies proved to be diplomacy enough. Pelly felt a little strange and abrupt, butting into investigate a situation and reaping the rewards despite having no context, but hey. It's a cookie. It's like popping your head into a room and it turns out they've just had a party and there's leftovers. Food doesn't eat itself! Usually.

Pelly's eyes gravitated towards a delightful purple-y pink-y cookie, enchanting and cloud-like. They fumbled around with it for a moment before finally holding it steady enough to take a bite. And as it turns out? Cookies are actually quite delicious! Tobie-esque. Pelly finished off their cookie and decided to take two back for the family. Tobie would love one probably, Cas and pops could split the other. It was the most Pelly could carry in one hand without causing catastrophe.

One more cookie for themself and one sugar rush later, Pelly was on their way out!

It takes a while to get out from the ice, but once free, the silly clownbeast plucks its face off the snowy ground and analyzes the situation. For about 2 seconds. The most important things to note are as follows: 1.) no danger, 2.) food.

The catawampus snatches a cookie bathed in the delectable crimson of a clown nose and shoves it down the gullet. Delicious. The catawampus takes another one. And another one. And another—

And by perhaps the tenth cookie, the wrath of furry cave god finally falls upon the gluttonous crown of the beast, and in its fervent agony, the catawampus banishes itself to the sky once more. There is no question. There is no regret. There is no alpha status regained or even claimed. Cookies are more important than that. Cookies symbolize friendship... to normies. To the catawampus, they symbolize... dessert. And dessert symbolizes the need to go home and sleep.

So that's what the catawampus does.

Oh, oh! It had all been just a terrible misunderstanding. Kerberos backed off, tail tucking low and snaking around his hind leg. He stayed back, guilt tugging at his heart strings while several others milled about, chatting and enjoying the treats offered.

Reluctantly, as the crowd started to clear out, the scarred hell hound crept forward, sniffing. "I'm sorry," Kerberos woofed softly to Peppermince, ears laying back. "We didn't hurt you, did we?" Whether he-- or the rest of the gembounds-- had inflicted harm, he certainly shouldered the blame.

But no, it seemed no one had been seriously injured. Slowly, Kerberos's tail relaxed, swinging in a soft wag that kicked up little puffs of snow behind him. He struggled with deciding which cookie he could have, standing over the treats with confusion in his five eyes.

Thankfully, however, Naskital was generous enough to take three cookies from the stack, and offered each of his hungry mouths the special sugar cookies. Kerberos, for his part, sat very politely and took each one with utmost gentleness, not wanting to accidentally take off the blue-furred man's hands.

The immediate rush of energy from the sugar hit his blood stream, and within minutes he was bouncing about in the snow, scampering about with an excited energy. He almost forgot--

"THAANKKK YOU!!" The big guy howled, tromping off with a new, minty taste on his three tongues.
