Tiny feet tapped on the palace floors, each step just barely audible. The child was only a few feet tall at the most, with blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His gaze was inquisitive, eyes big and round as he explored the main hall. He approached a large vase with curiosity, his chubby hands reaching up for it.

He grabbed at it, pulling it closer to him until it teetered over the edge of the table. He gasped and panicked as it started to fall towards him, reaching out in a panic to try and catch it. It fell on top of him, hitting him right on the head, pulling a cry from him.

As it rolled on the floor and he sat on his butt, clutching his head, a soft sniffle could be heard before he suddenly wailed, flailing his tiny hands all around. He clutched the bump on his head and slowly got up, big fat tears rolling down his face. His sobs quieted quickly but he continued to sniffle and rub his eyes, his bottom lip wobbling.

”Owie...” he said quietly, looking back at the vase and pouting. Stupid vase.

It would be Eggbert to find the young prince first, waddling quickly down the hallway having witnessed what had happened. He was a bundle of soft mumbles as he approached the child, fretting over him with a sniffling, searching beak.

Isra was only a few, graceful strides behind her butler but she did not approach the child as he had. Instead, she stopped gently just a few feet from them, her nose held upward as she looked down at the pair.

"Well, that was an easy lesson learned, I hope," she commented, her eyes glancing to the vase, thankful it had not broken. The snakes of her tail hissed, searching, ready to help her lift the vase back onto its perch—but not yet. Not until it was clear of the danger of this child.

Eggbert looked back at her over his shoulder, grumbling.

"Oh yes, Eggbert urges me to mind my manners, and wants to know if you are okay," she said, the flames of her eyes tracing the young ones frame. Where had he come from, she wondered? "But it seems you are, as you are alive. What do you say?"

Eggbert turned back to the prince with a frown, disagreeing with Isra's lack of maternal instincts.

@Ruvaen

Ruvaen looked up at the sound of claws tip-tapping on the floor of the hall, gasping quietly as Eggbert approached him, eyes wide. He clumsily stood, pushing himself up onto his feet and wobbling a little big until he managed to steady himself.

The elf shoved his thumb into his mouth and nodded slowly, averting his eyes and staring at his feet guiltily. He hadn't meant to knock it over, he'd just wanted to look...

”It... bumped me,” he said slowly, pulling his thumb from his mouth, so new that words were still a struggle to master. He lifted his hand to the top of his head and winced as he touched the growing bump there, a new wave of tears threatening to roll down his face.

Instead he looked to Eggbert, reaching out with his uncoordinated fingers to grab a hold of his beak, should the butler not pull away. He looked to be in awe of both him and Isra, his bright eyes wide and inquisitive. He shivered suddenly, a cool breeze from the end of the hallway chilling his bare skin. He made a soft sound of discomfort and looked to Isra, toddling towards her with his hands held out.

”Uppy,” he said, making grabby hands at her. ”Pwease?”

The flames of her eyes flickered at his excuse. Surely it did not bump him. Her vision focused on the bump growing on his head; well, he had caused that, in a sense. Isra did not tolerate lying and the snakes at her backside coiled and hissed, her thoughts and intentions manifesting through them.

Eggbert was a good sport, of course. He helped to steady the child where needed, adjusting his weight and following the child should he need further support as he made his way toward Isra.

The cat-like hound turned her nose downward to watch the approach, staring absently at plump, grabbing hands.

"Uppy?" she hissed, and the snakes again spit from behind her. "No." What did she look like, a mother? "Eggbert, see to the child," she commanded, and stepped gracefully around the toddling boy to continue on her patrol down the hallway.

Eggbert remained, looking at the child expectantly with chittering trills.

* Isra attempted exit

@Ruvaen

Ruvaen watched her go, hands still held up hopefully. He sniffled quietly and rubbed his eyes, wondering what he'd done wrong. Instead he looked to Eggbert and made his way towards him instead, gravitating towards the significantly kinder being.

"Eggie," he said with a soft giggle, his eyes still wet but in no danger of shedding anymore tears.

He looked down the hallway curiously, a little intimidated by the space that seemed to stretch on forever, but his curiosity won out after a moment and he went toddling off, eager to explore. Thankfully he stayed away from any other ornaments, instead looking for any open doors to wander into. Perhaps there was some food somewhere? He was awfully hungry.

"... Egg?" he said once he deemed himself too far away, looking back at the butler and hoping that he'd follow, unaware that Isra's order meant he was to care for him.

Right now, he was just wondering what she meant by 'see to the child'. Eggbert had already seen him, hadn't he?
