For once, Lorelei notice's Acheron's trepidation. "Don't swim if don't want to," she tells her, splashing into the surf after her hooved friend. "You didn't like swim." Very helpful observation.

She tilts her head. She doesn't know what one does with a foot. She didn't have any. "Don't know. Maybe meet there later?" she offers.

Quite the conundrum they're in.

@Acheron

Well, that was a relief!

Acheron scrambled backward, paws splashing in the water. "Oh-... Good!" she exclaimed. No swimming needed. That was--yeah, that was good.

She heaved a big breath, exhaled, and eyed Lorelei thoughtfully. "Wanna go now-?" she asked, curious. "If you try to find a water tunnel, I can try to get there by land and we can--meet?" The thought was tentative, but fascinated. Exploration, adventure--it sounded fun!

(Acheron had no idea that she'd wind up in a chrysalis for two weeks before she could ever get there. This was a meeting she'd be unable to truly keep--not in any reasonable span of time, anyway.)

@Lorelei
Lorelei giggles as Acheron splashes away back to shore. "Yes, keep water to me!" she chirps, following back to the sandy shore.

The promise of showing Acheron her birthcave is alluring - she doesn't know every nook and cranny, but enough to give a good tour. (Of course, that's ignoring the fact that it'll be more than a month before the two would ever meet again, and then the two would be very different.)

"I'll meet you there! Come by sometime!" is Lorelei's joyful proclamation, blissfully unaware of what fate has in store. "See you!" she barks, before splashing off into the sea. She pauses for a moment, bobbing in the waves, long enough for Acheron to say her last goodbyes, and then dives off into the depths of Fornax.

Time is a fickle mistress.

Exit Lorelei

The idea that she'd end up near dead in a short time didn't occur to her. She was carefree, happy, healthy and young--how could it?

So she barked her own enthusiasm--dropping into an instinctive play-bow--and turned to bolt away.

"I'll race you there!" she cried, and started off in a scramble of gravel that left her stumbling. A false start, but... it was still a start, right? A goofy grin was flashed over her face, but Lorelei had already dove: so Acheron turned away.

She was excited to be on a new adventure. It would just... take a little longer to get there, that was all.
