From the place he'd found Acheron, he'd wandered his way through one spacious cave and to the doorway to another, then delved without deeper thought in to the tunnel. It was dry here - worse even than Polaris had been - and part of Saul did scream to return to where it was lush, because Eridanus was so much greener than this.

Instead Saul caught a look at some lights strung-up above his head. They gleamed so brightly in the dark, like many eyes suspended. He was not afraid of them - they were beautiful. As he followed the string he failed to watch where he was going adequately and this resulted in a sudden slam of his face against one smooth plane of the stairs ahead of him.

He rammed in to this slightly-too-high ledge with his chin first and was bowled backwards, and came to rest beneath a series of carvings on the wall which he had missed during his transit of the area. They did not glow like the light string, but they did dance (or, that was more likely his resulting concussion).

The lizard stares up at the carvings, unsure of what exactly he's looking at.
