Poltergeist skipped along the mossy floors. His tail swished behind him. He hoped the cat would follow him, but wasn’t sure if she would. Maybe she thought he was just a child that needed to be watched. It wasn’t inaccurate. Still, Poltergeist would be offended if it was said out loud.

Stopping on an outcropping at the very edge of Polaris, the little fox kit called out behind him. “Tourmaline? Are there any big predators in Polaris? Like dragons?” His eyes shined a little bit when he mentioned dragons, as every little kid’s eyes should.

Tourmaline's pace is much more relaxed compared to Poltergeist's, as she trails along behind him, quietly stepping over stones and moss. She doesn't mind the company - she didn't have much else to do.

Polaris... heart of the caves. It was her birthplace, and the air felt alive. She'd seen plenty of gembounds from a distance inside. "There are some, but I don't think I've seen a dragon before. There might be some somewhere in these caves, though," comes her answer, as she looks up at Poltergeist.

Poltergeist relaxed his shoulders at the words that there were no dragons around. He both really wanted to see one and really wanted not to. He was also pleased that Tourmaline accompanied him on his adventure. Looking around the vast expanse, he couldn’t help but mutter a sound of awe, “Wow… Is this really where you were born Tourmaline?!” Poltergeist said excitedly. “It’s so bright and pretty. I almost want to live here." His voice dropped in tone, realizing it was probably dangerous to live in such a place.

Tourmaline shared Poltergeist's hesitation at the prospect of seeing larger Gembounds. Some of the ones she'd seen from a distance unnerved her. She didn't want to become something's next meal herself.

She nods to his question. "Yes, this was my birthplace. I find myself coming back here often as well. The magic in the air helps to keep me prepared." Her eyes sparkle in the light, as she gives a quick grin. "And yes, it is pretty. There's plenty of space to hide, if you want to make it a home."

@Poltergeist
A space filled with magic and plenty of places to hide, it sounded like paradise to Poltergeist. “I think I want to explore a bit more before settling down. Still, it sounds like such a good spot.” Poltergeist said longingly. He wanted a base, but didn't want to sacrifice not being able to go too far from it.

“What sort of things are around here?” He asked, indicating the spire in the distance. He could hear the sound of running water as well, an important feature of a home. The idea of predators still scared him, but if there were predators, there was prey

Paw in front of paw, she ambles after Poltergiest. "I haven't made myself a den yet. I find myself wandering," she explains. Still, the idea of a home is tempting. She might have to make one herself.

"Well, that's the Spire," she explains, taking note of the direction he's looking. "I wouldn't get too close. The magic in the air makes my fur stand on end. There's also a river, with various structures built across... who made them, I do not know."
