The Collector has granted life to, or arranged the life-granting of, a number of gemstones which he intends to raise as his own. Plot-wise, these children will be intended to hatch and be trained by the Collector, raised as a dysfunctional (but not abused) family, and then sent out to gather and collect (or steal!) lost (or misplaced...) items, be they simply shiny or enchanted, to return to The Collector.

He will likely approach this as a business transaction, offering food and family in return for these payments, but time may change this--we will see! If you prefer, your character may attempt to leave this scenario (after their initial thread or two) and strike out on their own. The Collector will react as he sees fit at the time. Adopters may fully decide the character's personality, gender, name and stone location. Anyone can apply!

Child One
Yellow (Golden-Crowned Sifaka) x Rainstorm (Victoria Crowned Pigeon)
Element & Stone: Pressure + Rutilated Quartz (Forehead, can be changed)
Size: 16 inches tall, 6 lbs in weight, another 14 inches (2ft) of tail
Description: A small, flight-capable, winged primate with hands and hand-like feet, and a prehensile tail. Feathered crown and fluffy body in hues of black, slate blue, and rusty red, along with the Collector's glowing red eyes.





Child Two
Bebby (rcs) x Galleon (rcs)
Element & Stone: Light + Argonite (right hip, can be changed)
Size: 10 feet long in total (6 ft, 4ft tail), 350lbs
Description: A heavy beast, capable of gliding with fin-like wings. Powerful jaws and bone-like 'teeth,' with armored hide in rainbow hues and sharp black claws. Four glowing pink eyes.





Child Three
Doctor (Cinereous Vulture) x Yellow (Golden-Crowned Sifaka)
Element & Stone: Prokaryote + Yellow Jade (right lower leg, can be changed)
Size: 20lbs, 10ft wingspan, 3.5 feet tall + 3 feet of tail.
Description: Shaggy black-gray fur (from the Collector), edging to full black on the face, wingtips and other extremities. Claw-tipped fingers and the feet and beak of a bird of prey. Rich red-brown eyes, face covered in light, soft fur but framed by thicker, shaggier fur and mane.





Child Four
Galleon (rcs) x Rainstorm (Victoria Crowned Pigeon)
Element & Stone: Pressure + Rutilated Quartz (anywhere)
Size: 8 feet long + 7 feet of tail (the last foot of which are long feathers); 600 lbs.
Description: Heavily-built, bipedal, with feathers across much of its body. A couple sail-like fins and the 'hands' and hind feet are bare, pebbled skin, as is the bony-plated face with its four glowing teal eyes. Twisted black horns curl outward, then up, from the sides of the skull in front of a feathered crest. Hues of orange-brown, red-brown, and paler blue-grays.





Child Five
The Collector (npc) x Rainstorm (Victoria Crowned Pigeon)
Element & Stone: Earth + Rutilated Quartz
Size: 3 ft tall, + 2.5 feet of tail. Weighs 28 lbs.
Description: Capable of true flight, with a prehensile tail tipped in a spread of long feathers. A long, slender beak ends in a delicately hooked tip, and the teal-gray feathers are shaded in black. Glowing red eyes.





Child Six
The Collector (npc) x Bebby (rcs)
Element & Stone: Earth + Angel Aura Quartz
Size: 6 ft tall, 3.5 ft tail. Weighs 275lbs.
Description: Colors can be reworked, but should be based off Bebby's. Capable of true but limited (tiring) flight via swiftly-flapping butterfly-like wings. Shaggy fur in rainbow hues covers a bipedal form. Ivory-white keratin shoes in the claws, hooves and twisted horns, which move first out and then upward from the skull, and also in fanged teeth. Glowing pink eyes.





Child Seven
The Collector (npc) x Bebby (rcs)
Element & Stone: Earth + Angel Aura Quartz
Size: 18 inches tall, + 12 inches of tail; 30lbs
Description: Large maine coon-sized, and very catlike overall, but with its fur in hues of grizzled black and gray. Butterfly-like wings allow true flight. Eyes are glowing red, with paler catlike pupils.

— think i'd give hym Bebby's blood sugar-related qualities. hys horns need to taste like rock candy. if hys blood sugar is too low hy gets really dark and also really sluggish which hy doesn't really like
— personality-wise is subject to change but generally tries to be very tough & rumble and he kind of sees violence in everything. violense makes him happy <3 he's confident in his strength, probably has the same sense of humor as his dad (he finds his own conception hilarious), capricious with a rather explosive temper (except he doesn't really shout when he's mad, he's more the seething vengeful type), pretty comfortable with the life of collecting (or so he thinks), but beneath all that i think he has a nice streak that he's kind of desperate to hide

— generally hy may be loyal to the Collector and the goal of Wreaking Havoc for some time. whether or not hy tries to leave will be up to Further Relationships and Developments and such. hy's kind of built like a bouncer or the kind of people who "collect" for the mob so that's probably what hy'll lean towards doing but hy won't be very efficient at it, hy likes fighting too much. flipping jocks.

No name yet. Thinking something along the lines of gargoyle if that's not taken yet. The Gargoyle?

Curious in nature, The Gargoyle will be an avid learner of everything The Collector will teach. A quick learner for magic, he will want to learn as much as possible - and have as many spells as possible. Will pick up on topics much quicker than some other creatures of the caves, such as speech, or proper thought. Could be considered a child prodigy if those existed within the caves.

A little bit shy, but still wanting to develop proper friendships and relationships, The Gargoyle will push himself outside of his comfort zone to attempt to build things up. He'll be awkward, and say the wrong thing a lot. Might talk out of turn when he gets excited, and not really read the room well despite his apparent smartness. More book smart than street smart. Will go on tangents when excited about something or learns something new. Will probably spout random facts to strangers if he can build up the courage to.

Will want to stick with the collector, because why would he leave his parent? Would want to learn who his parents actually are if that gets revealed - will want a relationship with them if so, but wouldn't leave the collector for them without good reason.

-sets up a little cranny where they search for treasure in Polaris
-might join the edenfolk at some point as a merchant-type
-bossy little fucker. would try to position themself as the leader of the collector-children
-would have an interest in a lot of magic, particularly light for illusions and animal to charm creatures
-they point at who they're talking ;and make very intense eye contact.
-is constantly pondering new combinations of things and substances found in the caves to make the most fucked up possible enchanted items
-adrenaline junkie, willing to get into very dangerous situations for the sake of That Shiny
-would try to tame a bunch of Red Mice to be able to periodically clean their nests for particularly valuable items
-might also try to craft/enchant funky things (esp from plants and lessers) in exchange for Luckbites (aquatic lessers that can have anything from poison to magic inside). they'd drop them from high places to open them like crows.
-theres some idea with luckbites and gambling that i cant quite formulate but its THERE SOMEWHERE. I WILL FIND IT
-might use my mutation slot to make them more watery so they can visit the black city
-probably a tactician or magician
-special interest in deadly disease. would be interested in prok-related enchantments
-relatedly, they also have a great interest in cooking

- "Murmur" for a name? short for Murmuration of Starlings, definitely not pulling on my memory of Bevy and her child
- she/her, it/its, thing/things
a clever, compassionate thing. enthusiastic. easily malleable, and given the opportunity will become very close to her siblings and the collector.
- will be other-focused, and like its siblings, will be a little thief to begin with. i think thing will end up less of a collector and more of a mender, becoming fascinated with recycling junk. will be fascinated with broken things, including other injured gembounds. it may become a healer, but will have a price for its services (this price may be metaphysical; it may heal your injury but also take some of your blood for later use) that the thing does not disclose to you.
- actually kind of a nice girl. loves using her hands. very handsy and no sense of personal space

Child Number: three
Any plot/idea/character name, etc:
- name will probably be several consconants shoved together; nigh impossible to pronounce. something like Xtrqwn or some shit. i assume the collector will be able to perfectly pronounce it, but others may end up giving it a nickname that makes it roll its eyes.
- pronouns pending. might end up with some neopronouns, but debating on if i want to go with he/him or she/her for the basic 'nouns for ease of writing. they definitely have a gender i just havent pinned it down yet
- This creature will learn Prokaryote magic. It will have a fascination with the inner workings of living, of the macrobiomes of the caves and the microbiomes of other creatures.
- Definitely vulture energy, it will have an obsession with dead things. It'll collect bones, and rotting carcasses, and fester diseases in whatever spare flesh it has available to it.
- probably going to get itself sick. will whine at the Collector if it gets too ill to 'fix' it.
- it may not have morals but it has standards. it'll keep its word, but you better get that shit in writing.
- will pride itself on its penmanship once it learns how to write. would like to give it a journal for writing down in detail the things it learns about the process of death.
- may get a little corrupted as a treat, but wouldn't go full corrupt. may ask Collector to bail it out if it gets too deep, hilariously

Any plot/idea/character name, etc:
Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but makes up for it in pure enthusiasm and curiosity. If sent on a collection job, will bring back 10 other things that may seem like junk but to them theyre little treasures. Insists on acquiring some kind of trinket for everyone they meet so that theyll eventually have a special little collection of meaningful things that look like junk but actually represent everyone they know.

Can be a little silly at times, doesnt think too hard about things. Likes to make jokes and harmless pranks and hates being alone. Actually is kind of afraid of being alone. Prone to anxiety if left by themselves for too long.

Any plot/idea/character name, etc: By far the biggest of the children, not well suited for sneakery or thievery. They will, instead, be an excavator, retrieving artifacts from dirt, ruins, or corpses. Slow-moving and perceptive, aware of the stories behind everything. May become a monument builder.

Any plot/idea/character name, etc: Would be more prone to giving their scavenged goods directly to other gembound, in exchange for the right to experiment on them. They would still occasionally give to The Collector, but this would lessen as time goes on and their interest in these interactions wanes. May also give out "blessings" of beneficial bacteria in exchange for goods.

Any plot/idea/character name, etc: Sort of like a bull fighter and bull in one. A bigger brute who revels in the 'game' of combat, but only fair combat with set rules. Would half-heartedly give random rocks and junk to The Collector unless somehow incentivized. Also like a hummingbird- surprisingly high-energy beast that needs a LOT of [preferably high-sugar] food in order to sustain itself. HIGHLY food motivated.
Okay so I'm doing this weirdly. I have a few character concepts that multiple children could fulfill. Therefore, I have created some groups with the children that could apply to each concept, and an overall ranking at the top under my username.

Preference Order: 5, 7, 3, 2, 1, 4, 6

Tactical, The Stealth Acquisition Expert (Firstly Preferred Concept)
Child Number(s): 1, 3, 5, 7
Any plot/idea/character name, etc: This child would be a gembound that heavily relies on logic to reach decisions. Feelings, while they may be fun in the moment, are to be discarded ultimately. The only relationships that matter are transactional to this gembound. Specialty would likely be stealth acquisitions.

Mage, The Wayward Wanderer (Secondly Preferred Concept)
Child Number(s): 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Any plot/idea/character name, etc: This child is insatiably curious. Combined with a lack of innate loyalty, they work with the Collector when there is benefit to them, but are prone to wandering. They tend to come back, but they may be easily distracted. If there was a family meeting, they would be always late to it. They are not very disciplined. Magic sparks their curiosity most of all.

Physical, The Empathetic Enforcer (Thirdly Preferred Concept)
Child Number(s): 2, 4, 6
Any plot/idea/character name, etc: This child would focus on helping out with more physical jobs. They would feel deeply about everything and everyone, but their loyalty is always to their dysfunctional family. Feelings matter more than logic. Bonds between others are a gift to be treasured.
