Hacking and coughing, the bird threw up the water that had invaded her lungs- which wasn't much as her plunge had been rather brief. "STAR-FRIEND SAVED STAR!" she declared, then went back into a coughing fit."GOOD FRIEND!" Which is not to say that she had ever had a friend that wasn't, well, good but no one else had saved her from drowning before. Even if it was self inflicted. As well as her never having drowned before.
"STAR CAN NOT SWIM. BUT WITH POWER OF FRIENDSHIP STAR CAN DO ANYTHING!" she did a little hop back onto the land, "STAR-FRIEND CAN SWIM. SO STAR CAN SWIM TOO!" tugging on the magic from her heart shaped gemstone, the buzzard imbued Alek with... something. Look she didn't know either okay. "STAR HAS BLESSED STAR-FRIEND WITH GOOD LUCK. GOOD VIBES." That's not what it had actually done, but she didn't actually understand what it did. So, she just made something up. Or perhaps she actually believed it did that? Unclear.
