HYDE
...Sunlight peeks through from the canopy of trees, shining on a particularly animated little rock. It shakes and stirs - almost as if something is underneath. Then, without warning, CRACK ! First two little paws emerge, then a tiny head follows suit. The creature probes the air with its nose, and takes in the musky scent of the environment - it isn't quite sure what to make of it, though...
Hyde groggily emerges from his stone, and blinks his beady little eyes. He is rather dazed and confused, not quite able to get a grasp on his surroundings. Everything is blurry, and a loud ringing clogs his hearing. What...This ? Hyde flexes a paw, and his two hind legs kick against his will. Definitely gonna take some getting used to those... He drags himself across the mossy floor, covering himself in the earthy scents. A feeble attempt at a crawl, that's for sure. Hyde opens his tiny maws, and gurgles softly. Frustrated, he tries again to communicate his thoughts; however, yet another babble emerges. Seems that this too will take some getting to used to. Hyde shifts his focus to his vision, for he begins to squint in hopes it will clarify his sights. No luck there either... Being a newborn sure is hard work, isn't it ? Well, at least the ringing in his ears had since died down. That's at least one thing to be glad about. Think positive, right ?

HYDE
Hyde swiftly jerks his head towards the source of the noise; he is not entirely sure what to make of it. A mass of colors had suddenly garnered his attention, and then something he could somewhat understand. A word... But, what exactly did it mean ? Despite his lack of knowledge, Hyde can certainly make out the friendliness in the stranger's voice. "Hello." That really sticks with him... Hello. For reasons unknown to him, he has a strong urge to recreate the sound. Almost as if he feels the need to return the courtesy, yet he has no idea why he feels this way or what it means. "H... He..." he struggles to get the vowels quite right. Hyde then huffs with frustration, and cuffs his nose with his paws in anger. "O !" he declares, seeming quite confident with his pronunciation.
He then moves onto his next goal, and desperately tries to crawl towards the stranger. The presence of warmth is quite comforting to him - especially considering how cold the current weather is against such a young body. It takes him a considerable bit of time and effort to move towards his newfound companion, but he eventually makes it towards the base of Rift's paws. Seemingly content with his progress, Hyde sighs a breath of comfort and looks up at Rift once more. His beady black eyes blink slowly, almost as if awaiting a reaction from Rift - an acknowledgement of any sort for his brave deed of traversing the inches of ground ahead of him.
