Onyx-Three felt no surge of satisfaction upon hearing its cries of pain, flinching as more blood soaked their claws, black, an inky blackness darker than even their fur that differed a few shades from true black. And for a moment, they remembered their mother from whom they had garnered such traits. The color of their fur, their eyes, one gold, one violet. And they felt shame. What would she think if she saw them like this? But then they thought of the Sentinel instead, but even that was hard to imagine. Onyx-Three knew spars were not supposed to kill, and killing one of the Forge was not right, but they were too far into this to stop. Confronting their father would be even harder than the consequences that may potentially be faced before Vargas.

He was caught off guard, his thoughts obscuring him from reality until Ruby-One had already lunged forward and caught his head between its palms. Onyx-Three struck at its stone, disabling the spell, but not before fire had already torched his ears, and he could no longer hear. Two of his back eyes were completely blind now. The only senses he had to rely on was his sight and touch. And his head was still in its grip.

The bloodlust building in the back of its throat was overjoyed when it felt the canine's head in its hands. At its mercy. As if it would grant it. But a single well-placed strike to the sickle on its head ruined it STOP RUINING THIS and it hissed as the flames died.

But that didn't stop the fact that it still had its grip. It was still in the crosshairs. Distantly, it could feel, with each beat of its heart, more black blood spilling from that gash in its stomach. It could feel a slight numbness beginning to spread and it quivered, seeing the end coming into view. No matter how this fight would go, it knew it would probably be taking a nap for a little while.

Well, it would take this one with it then. And if he didn't want to take that much swifter BUT STILL AGONIZING way out, then it would MAKE HIM SUFFER. Helion bared its teeth, the oily black saliva still dripping from its maw. No words were said - its animalistic rage and fury and the thrumming of the corruption in its veins had brought it to a state beyond words. Or before.

Lighting again sparked, in both its palms now, and into the canine. DIE IN AGONY.

He was too weak now, the last of his energy expended on preventing his death by chaos' wicked flames. But his limbs refused to work anymore, nor did he have it in him to struggle out of its grip. Onyx-Three could barely even feel the hands holding him in place, nor could he see clearly the opponent before him. All he could do was draw in a ragged gasp, heavy and thick. Hard to breathe, hard to think.

Lightning. Electricity. It flowed through every part of him, excruciating in the energy it granted that beyond what any body was made to handle, not to mention one that was not attuned to chaos. The sheer pain made any injuries he had felt before drift away as if they were nothing, insignificant to the explosion ripping through every vein and organ as he opened his mouth and howled in agony.

But even if he could not move, could not think, some part of him reached down to the part of chaos he did know. The part that he hated- because magic was unpredictable- yet the part that he understood was good too, because chaos was good, and sometimes, unpredictability was inherent in what needed to be done. Because sometimes, when your body failed you, there was still the magic within that you could still pull upon when you needed it.

Onyx-Three thought of their parents (god, they hoped they wouldn't find out about this), and felt that bursting sensation within their gemstone, felt it flow in tune with the electricity flowing through them. And they too, became chaos. Their body became fire, a bonfire so large it could engulf the both of them in its brilliant purple-black flames that gave no warm embrace- only that of cold revenge.

And he saw, for a moment, what chaos meant, and what it could bring. Then he closed his eyes, consumed by the energy within and around him, returning to onyx chrysalis.

Its face split in a manical grin as it watched its opponent felled. The song of defeat howled in the dark cavern and it seemed the Spire beyond thrummed in harmony, as did the oiled stone upon its head seem to burn with approval. It held Onyx there, chaos driving shock after shock of dark lightning through its body, ripping and singing nerves, boring into its core, and then...fire.

Fire it was used to, that it hated, that it loved, that in this moment was made to kill them. Both of them were consumed and engulfed and both of them screamed and both of them died. There was nothing they could do, no magic that could save them now, having hurled themselves off the cliff long ago. But still, Helion reached, for one last burst of chaos to do something - save it maybe, or make sure the other went down. Be absolutely sure.

The magic reached for the knife that had opened a hole in its body and lifted it into the air, above them, as if it were going to drop the knife on Onyx-Three's head or do on last bit of damage. But before it could get there, the spell was broken as consciousness, screaming and roaring as it was, drifted to black as oil-streaked ruby encased the hellion's body. The knife fell, point down, and landed right between the two settling chrysalis, as if to cut them apart.
