The boy was fine after he got over the initial shock. It wasn't as strong as he expected, but it felt strong! It might have been due to his virginity over the use of such vivid magic that it moved the ground. It wasn't long until he stopped wobbling, and the failing ceased shortly after. He hopped closer, and his head tilted to the side. "Why you sorry?" Isaiah asked, frowning. It took him moments to realize it might have been from the magic. "But magic good!" If the magic could cause such a reaction from the excited newborn, it might be worth praising the older gembound.

He quieted though as the beast was silent. Unable to grasp the behavior, he tried to mimic the behavior by settling down on his feet, and his wings by his side. "We are laying now?" whispered the confused bird. The beast spoke again: telling him to smell. How do I smell? he wondered as he couldn't detect anything in the air. "I don't smell nothing." He looked around for something to approach, but he found himself lacking keen senses to discover what was the source of this "stench." Something moved, and Isaiah squawked in surprise.

There was someone there! Almost on cue, another hairy creature approached from the shadows with a raspy voice. There was a greeting, but also questions. Was he new? He might be new, but what was new? "Am I new? I think I'm Is...aiah. What's a 'new'?" He looked questionably at the newcomer with curiosity sparked in his yellow eyes.

"Isaiah speaking text"
### words
@Isaiah @giggle
what approached us was a creature i'd never seen before. jaded lenses observed it as it asked us what our names were, and if we were new. little isaiah didn't know what the word meant, and i smiled down at the little bird before erecting my posture to a sitting position. tufted tassel curled around hind limbs as i nodded at the odd creature before us.

"i am about two cycles, isaiah is, as you can see, rather newly hatched."

i chuckled a bit as isaiah asked what thew word meant. my attention returned to the hatchling.

"'new' means that you're a baby. you're new here to the cave."

my explanation wasn't much of one at all, but it would do for now. rounded ears swiveled and faced the odd critter who looked almost grizzly to me.

"my name is niru. and yours?"

i asked politely, holding a small grin.
