Peppermince's appearance in Polaris wasn't what eventually caught Tourmaline's attention. No, Gembound came and went all the time. It was him lingering, setting up shop to stay for cycles.

So, eventually, she'd paw closer, ears perking to listen. Practicing magic... Now that was something she was interested in.

"Magic? I could lend mine. Perhaps you would like a demonstration?" she'd grin, before turning to the side. With that, she'd summon her power, causing the dust and gravel to spin themselves into a hail of glassy shards. A safe distance away, of course.

He couldn't help but hear something like "breathing plants" from well into Polaris and had begun the journey over to investigate. He was quizzical - breathing plants seemed like a strange idea and not a very useful one either, but the idea of it was amusing and the commotion seemed to have drawn a crowd. So, investigating it was.

He drew towards the gathered group of gembound around peppermince, lingering at the back for a moment and watching. He spoke up after a bit - "Hi, I heard something about...uh...breathing plants? I can make plants." He raised a paw and pressed magic forward but it didn't take, so he quickly gave his fur a lick to hide the moment before setting it back down. "What's going on here?"

Mocha

'Cause I'm having a good time

You could bet your behind that Mocha was not giving up. No sir, Mocha was not a quitter. Watching the fan of electrified air burst forth from Richter only made the little shark-dog all the more eager to join in on the affair, though he did make some show out of dodging the blast. It was becoming quite a crowd now, others joining in on their attempts to create new magic. How cool was that? Making new magic? He had to try again!

With a happy chirp towards the newcomers, and an enthusiastic wag of the tail towards a fellow dog-thing, Mocha took one big breath, swelling his lungs until they hurt. He thought hard, brow furrowing (somehow) with the effort as he tried to focus his magic into his mouth before exhaling, hard. It was a strange feeling, that not-so-familiar tingle of magic in his mouth of all places. He felt for it, his ability to hear the hearts of others, his ability to pull water from the air... He didn't think anything would come from either, given what the striped creature said, but he'd try anyway.

Looking around at the others, she seemed to get some semblance of what to do, well at least what she was supposed to try and do. She watched everyone for a moment, nodding before taking a few steps back so that she wouldn't accidently hurt anyone, as she wasn't sure what would happen.

She opened her mouth and took in a big breath, preparing herself for a moment before breathing out as hard as she could, trying to focus on magic and hoping she would do... something.
