You don't deserve pain. Nobody had ever said that to it before. Not so directly at least. It stared at the pup as she smiled up at him and was so lost for words and confused in that moment that he didn't react, at first, when she pushed forward.

It was a momentary delay, but then the feeling of touch, not asked for, unwanted, like a sudden poke of fire against its fur, made it flinch back violently. Sparks of chaos flew through its veins, but did not breach the skin as it snarled low. Helion moved out of her range, out of the personal bubble that she had breached, standing back up to its full height. How dare she touch me DONT LOOK DOWN ON ME as if I need consolation DONT LOOK DOWN ON ME!! There had been an odd tenderness in it, a quietness to its voice, but it was shattered now as it took a step back, baring its teeth in a threat once again.

"Listen, kid, you don't know who you are fucking talking to. I'm not your friend. I'm not your mom. I'm a VALKHOUND. I am a beast of CHAOS. You stick near me and you'll get hurt, maybe killed, and I won't lose a wink of sleep over it!" Its tail lashed behind it as it took another step back. This was dangerous. This was BAD. Beasts of chaos did not make friends. Helion V-RUBY-ONE would not be consoled by a child, would not be TALKED DOWN TO by a child, like IT needed help, like it was some fucking charity case.

She blinked up at the creature, cocking her head to the side for a moment. She was a bit confused at first, unsure why the creature got so mad, but she really didn't dwell on it all that much either. It's words didn't really bother her all that much, and she simply shrugged slightly as if nothing bothered her too much. "Well, I still think you're pretty cool, even if you don't." She took a step back so that she could look up at the creature for a moment, cocking her head to the side.

A large smile crossed her face, flicking her tail gently behind her. "I'm going to practice my powers and I'm going to be powerful like you." She stood up to her full (albeit still very small) height and did one little jump. "You'll see! I'll come back and show you just how cool my powers can be."

"Speech"

Helion was in it now, the furious heat choking it out, every fiber of it rejecting, hating, refusing. Her words bounced off like rain on a rock, and every moment she stood in its presence without fear or terrified awe or hatred made it more and more frusterated. She just kept repeating the same words over and over - "You're cool!" "You're powerful!" CONSOLATION! It didn't need coddling! It needed to be feared.

Its magic thrummed and raced through its veins, bursting out briefly, warping. Daphne would probably feel it - a strange tingling along her body as all bacteria present was suddenly eradicated by the forged spell. It wasn't...a purposeful decision, but without Helion even trying to control it at this point, it was going a bit haywire.

Fine. It didn't have a problem with that.

"SHUT UP," it roared, towering over her. "I don't CARE. I don't care about your stupid powers! Stop trying to be like me, I don't WANT you to be like me! YOU don't want to be like me!" It snarled and physically held itself back from just. Tearing into her. Doing something terrible that it knew it was going to regret.

Its teeth bared, its own voice screaming in the back of its head. WHY AREN'T YOU SCARED OF ME? "WHY AREN'T YOU SCARED OF ME?"
