Fracture my spine
Maybe it might be unbelievable—odds are it was for anyone who remembered foremost scattered gore rather than the gleefully expressed intentions responsible for the awful scene—but Karambit, at its core, was a sentimentalist. Often did it dwell upon family, remembering fondly hours spent presenting arrangements of intestines to its beloved siblings. Just as much did it remember the countless friends it'd played with, those fortunate enough to run away with their lives still intact as well as the ones who eventually were devoured, tired out by the giant insect's concept of fun. Lately its thoughts lingered primarily on an eternal love gone silent; many a time it had curled down by Draconua Jr.'s bones, hoping for once it'd receive a snarl or affectionate nip at flesh. For the present, though, these longing pangs had been displaced by an urge to hover along the beach and revel in the first time it'd ever been subjected to the glorious sting of injury.

Tides and shifting sands had wiped the shore clean of the blood spilt that fateful day. Eyes could no longer perceive color, only warm and cold. Nevertheless, vivid memory filled in the gaps, and an eventful hatch attended to by a generous parent was relived through gleeful hops around the area.

Here, just beneath the shade of a palm, was where it had awoken, chrysalis bursting apart in an explosive hailstorm of shards. It recalled the sea air as the original scent to stir it, exciting in its strangeness. Unused to gangly limbs and wing muscles weak, it had crawled instead of flown to its neighboring sibling's chrysalis, attracted to its sparkle. So delightful had it been to witness Terror emerging into this overwhelming world. Instinctually it'd known, despite the difference in shape, that this was its kin. And then the star of the show arrived, that lovely hulking mass of meat its even more limited speech had only been able to refer to as Fluvvvv.

An amalgamation of jaws crunched down on its leg and introduced it to the pleasure pain brought. The gift had been one Karambit had always meant to repay but never encountered the opportunity to. Had it'd been aware of Effluvium's participation in the Deathmatches before its sudden surprise appearance against Creosote, perhaps it would have signed up for the battles itself instead of deciding to cheer from the stands. The gurgling giggle that had seized its body during this trip down memory lane took a sad downturn, melancholy tinting the experience at thoughts of its more unusual sibling.

Dear Creosote. Kind Creosote. How it wished they would utter a noise to reassure that it remained in their good graces.
And swear that you're mine
