I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see the light in the shade of the morning sun
The feline was crouched in the shadow of one of the rock formations that reached like a beacon to the vast ceiling above, staring out at the waters of the bay, as she had been for a while. Awe sparkled in her expression as she drank in the beauty of this place, the warmth, the light. It was a place filled with energy and vitality, and even being here seemed to spark something like a fire in the cat.
...Perhaps a bit too much fire, as she was beginning to find herself a little hot. The longer fur on her sun-side was beginning to trap in a little too much warmth so she flooded herself with magic to try and at least reign in the unrelenting heat, but it didn't listen to her and she was left feeling as hot as ever. She looked at the bay, wondering if that would be more effective, but the thought of getting some of her longer fur wet was...ugh. No thanks.
It was about then that she noticed another shape walking along the beaches, and found her attention diverted. They had an oddly similar shape to Callista, but the fur was pitch night and more natural - she wondered why. Gleaming eyes watched from her shade as the other cat-folk planted something in the sand.
Interest piqued at the display of magic. She rose from her sentinel spot and softly approached. "What are you doing? Planting things?" Her head tilted. "Won't they die in the sand?"

Her eyes were attracted to the small sound and she found herself staring at the little creature. She had never seen anything like that before, but then again, there wasn't a whole lot of stuff that she had seen. She was very new, after all. Still, she found herself attracted to the little thing and smiled, lifting a paw to wave at it.
Her focus was pulled back to the other cat as she listened curiously to the explanation. It sounded kind of dumb to her, to be honest. Why be so concerned about plants? But could magic really fight against nature in that way? She wasn't sure she had the experience to answer that, and it was an intriguing idea. Even if plants weren't exactly her subject of choice.
"Hm, I guess that's true." Her reply was a little wispy, her heart wasn't exactly into the entire explanation, but she was not rude enough to interrupt the other one and tell them that she really didn't care. She just nodded along and did her best to look invested.
Callista approached properly and squatted next to the plant, arms on her legs as she looked between the sprout and the cat. When asked about her opinion, Callista found herself a little at a loss. "Um. Probably to a garden?" She should try harder, if she was going to participate in a conversation. So she wheeled herself back and took a moment to think it through. "So you planted this here. And used magic to sprout it. Great. But then it might not grow without your help, so unless you're planning to like. Continuously stay here and babysit it, it might be better to transfer it somewhere where it can grow properly." She shrugged. "But that's just my thoughts. I don't know that much about plants."

Callista looked down at the sprout in the sand and then back at the rest of Leo. They were on a beach now, but there were trees in the distance, crawling a ways up the slopes of the volcano. She lifted a paw and pointed back to where the beach ended. "I mean the rest of the cave is pretty green. You could probably plant it there somewhere." She didn't know anything about the properties of volcanic soil, but there had to be some merit to how fucking green it was, how much was growing despite the red glow from the mouth of the open mountain.
She paused. Shit, was she catching onto her? Or was it just an innocent question? She looked back at Flower, trying to parse her out and realized that she really did want her to be interested. She was excited. In the split second she had, she tried to grasp for what would be the best choice here - keep trucking along with trying to seem more interested then she was, or break it off and shut her down. The quick decision was easy to come by - perhaps not the best one, but the one that seemed best in the moment.
"Uh, yeah. It's cool. I mean, I haven't done a lot of it but plants are nice." She reached forward and gently patted the sand around where the sprout was growing. "I don't have the same magic as you do. But, you know, I've got an appreciation." It was bullshit, but she was just letting herself get roped along at this point.
