Most times, he tried avoiding this cave when he could. Other times, he would open his eyes here after a few cycles, feel the air change and hum with something new, but not anything he really wanted.

This time around, he came back into Pisces with a purpose- to remember where that firs haven was. The Haven that remained. Bits of their chrysali, anything. Nothing, really, for him here. No-one. Not even sure where his hatchling went from all those cycles ago.

Feeling like he should be upset, that his emotions should rage inside him like thr tempest he knows he can embody... but he feels nothing as he stares at their old beginning.

His old beginning.

How... odd.

He grumbled to himself as he walked, shaking out his body, letting his feathers poof out for a moment before settling back down onto his back and wings. Said wings stretched out for a moment, pumping once and twice before he jumped upwards, taking flight. However his body was huge in comparison to his wings, and his alligator form just kind of hung there as he flew forward, not nearly as threatening as he was hoping for. At least not in the 'cool' way he wanted, more in the 'creepy weirdo' way.

He tried to use his ability to burn himself, to make himself look cooler and scarier, but not only did nothing seem to happen, but his wings seemed to crumble at the attempt, making him fall face first directly onto the ground with a loud thud. FUCK!

Another voice makes his scales roll, and head coil above his shoulders so he can stare down whatever - whomever - just spoke.

One lip curling for a moment at the stench of burnt feathers, he opens his mouth- changing what he was going to comment at the last second as he peers down the ridge.

“That is a new word. What was the need for it?” Something that may have been amusement if it had been turned into a flavored water colors his tone, and his sail arcs above his head and shoulders to draw the attention of the brightly colored… klutz. At least the other is making attempts to achieve liftoff, ungainly rear legs or not. A voice in his memories gently defends the other gembound he’s mentally picking apart.

@ketrex

His head snapped up as he turned toward the other creature, narrowing his eyes slightly at the interruption. However a grin showed on his face as the bird asked him for information about the word he had said. He was nothing more than a bumbling fool really, but to have someone interested in his word usage and wanting to learn from him? That was perfect.

He stood up and puffed out his chest, clearly proud and confident. It's a word of exclamation of course, usually used to express intense emotions. At least that's how he used it, and of course he found no issues with it, so why not tell others about it.
