Was his body really made to fly easily? No, not really. He could go upwards, sure, but his lower half hung so low when he flew that going forward quickly was difficult. Thankfully though, he didn't need to really go anywhere quickly. Even now, as he hunted and searched for some birds to snag, he really only used his wings to fly upwards the mountain before landing on the ground and dragging his large body across the snow.
Finally he saw what he was looking for, the brightly colored bastards flying up in the sky, seemingly oblivious to his presence. Either that or they just didn't see him as a thread. Big fucking mistake.
He moved until he was directly under them before lunging upwards, using his wings to propel him into the sky as he clamped his jaws around one of the birds, quickly dragging it down to the ground. Perfect!
He gave a large toothy grin as he stared down at the bird. Small yes, but at the moment so was he, so it was good enough for now. He ate the majority of the bird, pulling off the two legs to keep to turn in later. That was two in one! Wasn't he such a smart one.
Turning his head upwards, he watched the birds, having gone a little ways away now that they were watching him. So, he waited, sitting there lounging for about an hour as he let his body digest and let the birds calm down. Finally, he followed them again, sitting himself under them and lunging upwards once more.
He scrambled upwards, neither of these attacks were very graceful but what do you expect from an alligator with wings?
He snapped his jaws around another bird and slammed into the ground with it, effectively killing it and do a little happy dance to himself.
He got what he needed, four bird legs all from only two birds. He was doing good, and now it was time to turn in his quest and get his beautiful bounty! Oh the idea of having a bunch of shiny little coins was wonderful. He didn't really... know what he was going to do with the coins but hey, they looked shiny and he wanted them.
After eating the rest of the bird, he took the four legs in his mouth and waddled away, finding his way down the mountain and back to the bounty board.
