It was somewhat disappointed to hear that spells and enchanted items weren't allowed- it had recently acquired an absolutely SICK collar with spikes and flames and everything, and it was itching to show it off. Whatever. It could always pick a fight with someone later. Maybe El.

The agate lept down into the arena to face its opponent. A vaguely-familiar humanoid covered in feathers and a glimmering suit of armor. The agate felt extremely offended. It had to give up it's cool spiked collar, Why did THIS loser get an entire suit of sick-ass armor?

"Hey! That's cheating!" It snarled, "I thought armor wasn't allowed!"

Its quill-covered tail rattled with agitation with a sound like wind through dry reeds. It paced back and forth, staring down Angel as it awaited some kind of reaction, but got none. "You scared?" It taunted, "Too scared to move? Fine. I'll come you, then."

It grinned savagely and charged forward with a snarl. It's jaws would hang open, tongue lolling out, just so its teeth could snap in Angel's face once it got close enough. Its paws slammed against Angel's breastplate with enough force to knock them off balance, although unlikely to completely topple them.

ROUND 1/5
ATTEMPT: Tackling
DEFENSE: Quills on spine and tail
INJURIES: None yet
@Angel
Angel didn't really prepare to be here. They didn't really prepare for much of anything, but this especially was new; they'd apparently just "looked like a fighter" and shoved into it, which was fine but did mean they just sort of stood there when they were pushed out into the arena.

Feathers bristled when the Agate entered the arena and faced them. An explanation of reward had been given earlier, and Angel wasn't against that, but they still flicked their ears back at the snarling.

Cheating? They were built like this. Fangs went beared in turn, their own metallic tail rattling against itself as Angel continued to turn to face them. Shoulders hunched and they watched, waited-- and was frankly rather uncertain as for what to do, but they didn't let the Agate know that.

One misstep, and the Agate had launched at them, sending them nearly toppling backwards with a loud mrowl ripping from their throat. If the downfall wasn't enough, the teeth set them on high alert, violet eyes wide in panic. First thing's first, avoid the mouth.

Stumbling back with the momentum, Angel slipped down and twisted stiltedly, doing their best to brace their hand against the Agate's jaw and shove its head to the ground instead of hitting it themself, despite the awkward attempt at defense. If anything, they'd just try to get the Agate away before it could deal damage to their own face, even if they didn't manage to hurt it.

@V-Agate-One

ROUND 1/5
ATTEMPT: shove agate's face away
DEFENSE: natural armor
INJURIES: uncoordinated
Angel's meow would be joined by a savage hyena cackle from the agate. HA! They really were scared, weren't they? Too scared to speak, at the very least. Its tail began to lash even harder, dislodging loose quills in its excitement. This was going to be SO easy! Practically a free promotion!

A hand shoved ineffectually at their snout would still provoke a disgruntled "Grawh!" and a snort as it reared its head back before it realized: Oh! Hand within biting distance!

So bite is exactly what it did. It did make sure not to totally break through the skin, though. It didn't want to get disqualified just for drawing a little blood, after all. Also, it tasted really, REALLY bad. Agate would recoil back, face scrunched in absolute disgust. "EUGH!"

ROUND 2/5
ATTEMPT: Chomp Angel's Hand
DEFENSE: Quills on spine and tail
INJURIES: Nah
@Angel
Auddie was in the stands, eating his body weight in popcorn corn dogs and fizzy drinks—the typical fight night festivities. He had committed himself to watching all the idiots he met in the "Fungeon" get absolutely bodied wherever possible. Well, except this one. This one he didn't... seem to want to watch lose? But honestly, from his nonsensical, borderline manic sportsball style yelling before the match had even begun ("YEAAAAAAH, KILL 'EM ANKLE-BITER! GIVE 'EM THE OL' ONE, TWO!"), it was kind of hard to tell. Apt question: does he know what he's talking about?

Perhaps not all his bolts were so loose. He offers a (loud) word of advice (shouted through cupped hands) to the Agate's question: "YEAH NAW IT CONFUSED ME TOO BUT IT'S ALL-NATURALE AND LEGAL AND WHATNOT. SORRY PAL." The message didn't necessarily make his allegiances any clearer.

Regardless of his mental clarity, one way or another, Audland was here to... be supportive. Of someone. Whether Angel liked it or not.

OOC: Hiiii Auddie is here now :] have fun!

@Angel @V-Agate-One (interaction)
Eleven's loss had stung. Maybe if it'd felt more like a real fight between practiced, trained warriors she'd feel a little better about it - she'd gotten a desperate scrabble instead. And it sucked that the Agate had probably watched her eat shit from the crowd. As if it needed another thing to hold over her head.

She wasn't sure what to do other than watch. She wanted to cheer, at least a little bit, but there was a chance the Agate would chafe against it. Did it want her support?

She recognised its opponent from the dungeon. Her opinion toward Angel skewed positive, having technically fought alongside them. But they weren't, like, a friend. They'd kept to themselves, and Eleven had done the same. Eleven didn't feel particularly compelled to cheer for them either.

She decided just sitting and enjoying the show would be enough for her.

Until a familiar voice rang out from the crowd. She didn't care for this particular Valkhound, but he hadn't done much to offend her personally (aside from call her pipsqueak). HOWEVER. Audland was cheering for Angel - or at least, not for Agate. It was kind of hard to tell what he was saying, exactly.

But it was enough to convince her to throw her own voice into the ring. "FUCK 'EM UP AGATE! KEEP BITING! BITE! BITE! BITE!" Eleven didn't have Audland's natural aptitude for it, but she tried anyways.

@Angel @V-Agate-One @Audland (Eleven is ALSO here.)
It seemed in the sub-plot to the main fight club plot known as ring of bystanders and color commentators, Auddie had met his own (shrimpier, not as cool) match. He couldn't just take it like a good boy. Color commentary in and of itself was a competition, a violent one, and Audland, for whatever reason, couldn't afford to lose. Or at least he was going to act like that was true.

Every word was immaculately enunciated for maximum effect across air travel: "NEVERMIND EX-PAL, WE ARE NOT PALS ANYMORE. I WOULD MUCH RATHER LIKE TAH SEE YA GET DISEMBOWELED BY A PINT-SIZED, ONE-WINGED HOMOSEXUAL NOW." What is a "homosexual" in the Origin caves, by the way? Auddie supposed it didn't matter, so long as it sounded enough like an insult to bite... whatever party it was intended for. Both? Maybe both. Wait; one more: "YOU AND YOUR PESKY LITTLE PIPSQUEAK FRIEND-THING OVER HERE, IF I'M BEIN' ENTIRELY HONEST. AND I AM, BY THE BY." Every word shouted in the direction of the match, but the last few clearly directed at... someone else among the stands.

Perhaps as a way of sort of kicking her under the table, or maybe just covering Auddie's tracks, Chaotic magic would attempt to take advantage of the, well, chaos, and flare up in the form of snatching El's vision away. After all, magic might not be allowed for the brawlers in the arena, but nobody ever said anything about outlawing it from the audience. What if people needed it to like, breathe? And be a bully? And such.

Please listen to this for the rest of the thread, if you can. We're girlie pop now.
Angel hadn't really experienced heckling before. As if their hand getting bit wasn't enough, there was jeering in the stands, which threw them off even more. They couldn't hear themself think.

So they did the first thing they could think to do.

They bit the agate's snout.

They didn't hold back either- if they weren't so distracted, maybe they'd follow the rules, but the confusion of ankle-biter and one-winged homosexual had them wrenching the agate's head rather violently with their bewildered wheeling towards the crowd.

"WHAFF!?" They could barely speak with the agate in their maw, blood likely dripping from how hard they were clenching down. What in the world were they even talking about? They weren't homosexual! They weren't even homo or sexual!

(if you want agate to dodge/block lmk and i can edit!!! mwah) @V-Agate-One

ROUND 2/5
ATTEMPT: bite agate's muzzle and sort of accidentally wrench it to the side. from their confused
DEFENSE: snailarmor
INJURIES: hand hurty. arm hurty.
Agate was a BORN heckler, but they were far more used to dishing it than taking it. It was severely distracting, tearing its focus completely away from its opponent. Also. What the FUCK is a homosexual?

The Agate's best guess is that it's a type of gembound, like a 'cat' or 'dragon' or 'valkhound.' Given the vaguely similar body-plan, it wondered if the large blue heckler was a 'homosexual' as well.

This train of thought was abandoned just as soon as a pair of gross, banana-scented jaws clamped down on its muzzle. It screamed in outrage, muffled by the jaws clamping its muzzle shut. They would thrash around violently even as Angel jerked their head [and its own] to the side, desperately trying to free itself.

It'd shove Angel away, scrambling back and practically trembling from agitation. Toxic green blood dribbled down its snout, and the wound BURNED. "WHAT WAS THAT. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT??" It needed its face to do very important things, like eat and swear and bite its enemies.

And then, to the noisy, confusing, rude as hell crowd. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP!!!!!"

ROUND 3/5
ATTEMPT: Shove Angel Away
DEFENSE: Quills on spine and tail
INJURIES: mouy face :(
@Angel
Cheering was something Eleven assumed would be a generally inoffensive thing to do in this setting. It's kind of the only thing to do when you're in the crowd. However, it appeared that the startlingly blue Chaos-beast had an issue. (she couldn't actually pick him out from the other spectators, she assumed he'd stayed the same colour since the dungeon.)

"DON'T LISTEN TO THAT FRUIT." Because he's blue, obviously. Like whatever was growing from the brambles in Pegasus! Disregard the taxonomy. That doesn't matter here. "YOU'RE SO MUCH BIGGER. LIKE, LENGTH-WISE! AND STRONGER! PROVE THIS ASSH-"

And then the lights went out. "Whuh. What. I CAN'T SEE. WHO DID THAT. HELP." Some mix of panic, confusion and vengeful rage began to flow through her - all she could do was whip her head around, desperate to make literally anything out in this new abyss.

"WHAT'S HAPPENING. WHO'S WINNING. SOMEONE TELL ME."

"And what the FUCK is a homosexual!" Shouted a homosexual.
The agate slipped out of Angel's teeth easily with how baffled they were. When it thrashed, they flinched back, prying their teeth away from its muzzle and snapping their jaw shut so fast that it ached. It gave them a moment to stand taller, hold their wing closer.

If it weren't for Angel's befuddlement, they'd be massively amused by the agate's own. That and the frustration; at least they could focus on that, huffing with their ears pinned back. Just tune it out. They're just... loud, and sudden, and at least they're distracting the agate. Hunkering down, Angel's hands balled into fists as they took one step, then another.

It was an uncoordinated attack. Still, Angel dove forward with their wing flared for balance, swinging wide for their already battered muzzle. They were here to fight; dirty wasn't a word that applied.

ROUND 3/5
ATTEMPT: punch agate's face
DEFENSE: armor...
INJURIES: arm hand bruise, mouth hurty
