It was somewhat disorientated by the dust plumed up by it's own charge, coughing and squinting with watery eyes. The bull slammed into the dirt, stunned, and that was it's chance, wasn't it? The vesuvianite wasn't very strategically-minded but it knew an opening when it saw one.
It would turn wide, losing a little bit of momentum as it did so but never stopping. The full weight of it's body would crash into Abaddon, hopefully resulting in a tumble where it would come out on top.
And then at the last moment it remembered.
Oh. Yeah. The spikes.
ROUND 5/5
ATTEMPT: Full-body tackle
DEFENSE: Scales on face/limbs
INJURIES: Headache
@Abaddon
Vesuvianite landed atop him and, spikes or not, the thing was heavy. Abaddon was thickset and strong, but even with adrenaline roiling through him, he didn't know if he could even push up with the beast on his back. He tried--an attempt to shove up a little, legs shaking with the strain, and to fight.
The "fight" consisted of bucking, and even that might've been a strong term: instead of a wildly flailing, flinging bull able to throw his enemy flying away, Abaddon was more "violently stumbling" with Vesuvianite's weight. But he was stumbling, at least.
Maybe the spikes would help.
ROUND 5/5
ATTEMPT: Rodeo bull
DEFENSE: no
INJURIES: tired & headbonk & a little smooshed :)
@Vesuvianite T-One (will tag for judging also)
Okay. Okay. It might not have thought things through. It had NO idea what to do at this point, aside from hold on and try it's best to not get jostled directly into a sharp spike.
It ended up failing on both accounts.
It slipped right off Abaddon's back, it's panicked flailing probably aiding in it's opponent's efforts. One of the larger spines on Abaddon's shoulders sliced into it as it fell, leaving a nasty scrape that stung.
"Ow..." It whined as it thumped to the ground.
ROUND 6/5
ATTEMPT: hang on + avoid getting stewered
DEFENSE: Scales on face/limbs
INJURIES: Headache + poked
@Abaddon
The bull became aware of two things at once: first, that the heavy weight on his back was now gone and second, he had no idea where it had gone. He thought he heard the faintest voice, a word maybe, or two, but he was so busy thrashing around in the dust that the direction it had come from was lost to him.
He reacted on instinct, reflexively kicking out in first one direction and then a slightly different one, as if that thirty degrees or whatever of coverage would help. Maybe he'd get lucky. It wasn't even intended to really harm, just... following that "bucking bull" theme, he didn't want the Giant Monster Bird Lizard Thing to jump back on his back, where he couldn't get at it again!
ROUND 6/5
ATTEMPT: Kick
DEFENSE: no
