Aurelle nodded. At least Lichen was enjoying every part of her meal-- that made her feel a little less disappointed that she didn't like her own. "I'm glad," the elf said. "It's a lot of work, but I think it's worth it. We still have a lot of coins for more food, too."

To Lichen's last question, she shook her head even though neither of them could see it. "Just that it was served at breakfast," she said. "And he said they have sandwiches at lunch. I'd like to try those, too, I think."

She tapped the table briefly. "Sandwich. Sang-wich," she repeated. "Egg. Venison. Foods have funny names. Do you think the funnier the name, the better it is?"

@Lichen

Lichen pauses her hoovering up of her dish to speak through her mouthful. "Sang-wich" She echoes briefly, really tasting all these new words. There were a lot of firsts happening here, which took awhile for this old lizard's brain to catch up on and process.

"We have to come when we first wake up for egg?" Lichen eventually asked between gobbled mouthfuls, this breakfast, lunch and dinner stuff was still confusing; perhaps it always would be for someone who had no concept of days.

@Aurelle

Aurelle nodded again. "Unless we... lie a little, I suppose. Bartholomew seems nice, though-- I'm sure he wouldn't mind if we asked him nicely for a breakfast even if we hadn't just woken up. But he said it was a big meal, so we should make sure that we're really hungry when we ask for it so that we don't waste food."

The elf nibbled on another coin of carrot. "I think it'll be easy once we know what our favourites are, though, because we can come in and just ask nicely for it and give money for it." The venison was definitely not going to be a favourite of Aurelle's, but she held out hope for egg and sandwiches.

"The juice is nice," she added thoughtfully. "I think I'll have juice again."

@Lichen

Perhaps it was the comfort of eating, the sluggish feeling of being full, but the scoff at the mention of Batholomew being nice left her unbidden. "Well, how long does it take us to be hungry? We could nap until we're hungry again." Lichen ponders aloud, completely unawares of her own social faux pas.

"What is your favourite normal-food? Surely trying that but hot would be a good start to finding your favourite." Lichen suggest between literally licking her dishes clean. There certainly wasn't going to be any food wasted on her head today at least.

@Aurelle

"We could take a nap until we're hungry again..." Aurelle murmured contemplatively. She did love napping, and she loved napping with Lichen most of all. Food when it was hot was making her extra tired, too, though to the point where walking home did seem a little like a chore. Still, she could go for a sleep.

She blinked before finishing off her food a little quicker. "I think fruit," the elf answered. "Fruit is always a good, special treat." It could be really difficult to find the kind of fruits she liked, too. They only seemed to appear at certain times of the year. "Maybe I'll ask Bartholomew if I can try the sweet things. Maybe they'll be my favourite."

With a stretch, Aurelle pushed up. "Do you wanna go home and have a nap?"

@Lichen

Lichen took the moment to gulp down the juice, likely making a mess for whoever was working at the tavern to clean up later. However once it was gone, she made a loud sound of agreement. A nap sounded like just the ticket about now.

"Yeah. I do." She scoots away from the table, trusting Aurelle to scoop up their coins; it's not like she had the hands for it anyway. Then, simply remained stood stock still until Aurelle gives a signal that they're ready to go.

Full tummy and a big nap. A perfect end to a very good day.

Aurelle reached out towards Lichen's nose, letting her fold her feeler around her hand. "Let's go," she said, leading the dragon back out of the tavern.

It was a good day; and Aurelle would be excited to see what else the tavern had to offer. Figuratively, of course, considering this adventure started and ended with both of them being blind.

You know how it is.
