Lichen puffs another sigh of relief. "Well, uh, pick me up a blanket-- Do you know where they are?" She at least remembers to tack onto the end rather than boldly assuming. Despite the fact Aurelle had bought her own blanket.

Yet, she did concede to the fact that they might both lose each other, or run into others. "I suppose so. We'll walk then, maybe it can be a brisk walk if it gets too cold." Lichen suggests very unhelpfully, she's really on a roll today.

"After that, do we need anything else? Or are we ready to go? All this waiting around is making me antsy." She wouldn't admit it was more the people than the waiting making her feel that way.

@Aurelle

Aurelle pat around the store for a moment until she found the blankets again; thick, wooly, not great quality but better than walking out in the snow naked. "I think we're almost ready," she said. She gave Thaddius coins for the wraps and second blanket (twelve coins) and put a hand on Lichen's shoulder to lead her outside.

In the market row, Aurelle turned and started fastening the other three wraps onto the dragon's feet. "It shouldn't be too long," she said. "Most of it will be trying to find our way around. We need to find the coldest part of Polaris to get through to Ursa, and then follow the river into Cepheus."

"And Cepheus has a tunnel that leads to Pegasus. And if we're tired once we reach there, Cepheus and Pegasus are nice enough to take a little nap in. We shouldn't sleep in Ursa." Even she knew that'd be a terrible idea.

Aurelle tapped her chin as she straightened up. "Do you think we're missing anything? I feel like we're missing something."

@Lichen

Lichen obediently allowed Aurelle to dress her in the remaining wraps and blanket. Humming a sound of agreement on Aurelle's suggested spots to nap, yet at her last question she furrowed her brows. After giving the topic a beat on thought she suggests, "food?"

Then after a beat longer. "Something to put water in? Er, to tell Bartholomew what we're doing? Do we need some sort of, mh, token? To show we're with him?" Lichen began to list off. Then mulled over the idea some more. "A head cover? From the snow?"

Lichen flumped down into a sit, but apparently couldn't think of many more suggestions. Simply make a noncommital noise instead.

@Aurelle

"Mister Bartholomew knows," Aurelle answered. "He told me about the way there and things. Ahh... what can we put water in? Bartholomew said snow is mostly water, so maybe we could just eat the snow." That seemed like a reasonable thing to do.

"I think the blanket can cover our heads pretty well," she said. "I have some, um, 'jerky,' I think Batholomew called it in my bag, and some fruit. He said jerky is really good for travelling because it's not wet and it lasts a long time."

The elf hummed. She felt pretty happy with their preparations. "I think we're ready, right?"

@Lichen

Food. Water. What else could they possibly need for survival? Lichen chewed on the question but came up with nothing. "That must be everything, mustn't it? If we carry much more we'll be slow." Lichen reasoned, perhaps not the best logic to have, but there wasn't anything else she felt she needed.

"And we can look for food and those bounty things on the way, if we want to save our, er 'jerky'." Lichen hummed before rising to her feet. Her feelers drifting towards Aurelle without a second thought, gently reaching out to tap around for her hand.

Though something did nag at the back of her mind. What could Aurelle possibly think is missing? Was it important? They had the essentials, what else could they need? They ate, they drank, they slept and talked. They had the ability to do all those activities on this journey. Was there something missing?

@Aurelle

Aurelle considered, but, eventually, she shrugged cheerfully-- the movement went unseen as per usual, but it was felt in the little rise-and-fall of her arm against Lichen's feeler. "Well, I'm sure if it were important, I wouldn't have forgotten," she said, which was absolutely a normal mindset to have before going on a journey.

She led Lichen along, practically hopping along the street and out of Scorpio. "I think we'll be fine, yes. We can save the jerky for an emergency." That seemed sensible.

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

@Lichen

Lichen plodded after Aurelle, believing her to be right. If it was important, they simply wouldn't have forgotten it. Completely sound logic in her eyes, nothing could possibly go wrong. So onwards and upwards it was. On their biggest journey yet.

None of this could go wrong. Not at all!

In-fact Lichen was rather excited to experience the world outside the central caves.
