Don't mind us doing this 1 year later

The last of the matches, Azrael stepped out into the forum once again, flexing his muscles as he warmed up for the final fight. He'd had some good ones over the last few days, and now he was looking forward to facing his competition for the winning spot. Of course, he was fully confident he was going to win - there was no room for doubt in his own mind.

He had thought about donning his armor for this one - it was a set he rarely used, finding it restrictive to his movements - but he figured if he'd gone through the rest of the tournament without it, then he would finish without it.

He stopped near the center and waited with eyes burning bright. He was ready for this.

@Relic

Relic tottered into the arena, armour scuffed, her eyepatch browned by dirt and blood. She swept her uncovered eye over her opponent, but she only really needed a glance to know that she was capital F fuckeddddd. The Overseer had done her best to even the odds, but could not shield her from the truth forever.

She is so so small. She's so small it's kind of insane. Relic isn't even sure she can make it up to his knee. All he needs to do is breathe on her and its over, she's dead and gone, no coming back, we're spiraling towards total erasure -

Her legs start moving on their own, body switching on while her brain forces itself to catch up. Lock in. Lock in. Lock in.

Bonk. It's barely enough to bruise. Relic smacks flatly into what she's hoping is his tibia. Not that it'd change things.

ROUND 1/5
ATTEMPT: trip him up. its in the name
DEFENSE: armour, enchanted helmet
INJURIES: awesome eyepatch. tired

@Azrael

Suffice to say, Azrael was disappointed to see the opponent that walked out to meet him on the floor of the Forum. Indeed, the creature was barely as big as his knee, and it didn't even have the decency to have muscle or mass on it, as the valkhound from earlier had. Well, it made sense, if the Overseer had put them in weight classes to start, then it would work out that the larger ones would meet the smaller ones eventually.

He huffed and rolled a shoulder back, glaring down at the hyena. "Let it be known, I will not go easy on you." At least she had armor on - he was more then happy to give her that advantage.

As soon as she was racing forward and bouncing off of his leg, he was likewise moving, a lower arm sweeping forward to catch her in her momentum and slam her to the ground with a roar. He was ready for a fight and HE WOULD GET ONE.

@Relic

ROUND 1/5
ATTEMPT: throw her to the ground
DEFENSE: large
INJURIES: bruises probably

I will not go easy on you. She would never admit it, but Relic had been hoping otherwise. She let it pass. No need for talking right now.

She felt the air shift above her. If his fist made contact, it was going to dent the fuck out of her armour. Sure, she had an idea of where to get it fixed, but she couldn't take it off easy. Just imagine the metal digging into her back for hours... Yikes.

Relic's size worked to her advantage, in this case, as there's a lot less of her to move if she needs to get somewhere quickly. She darted out of the way of the blow, creating distance where she could. Buying time was important. She can spend it better than him.

ROUND 2/5
ATTEMPT: none. running away
DEFENSE: armour, enchanted helmet
INJURIES: awesome eyepatch. tired

@Azrael

The smaller, quicker gembound quite easily slipped away from his attack. That was going to be her advantage against him, he supposed - well trained reflexes and a smaller, more agile form that could dodge and weave through the brutal attacks he sent her way.

Well he would have to try and stop her from moving, then.

He whipped around and grabbed forward, to try and snag any part of Relic that he could - tail, armor, leg, even just a clumpful of fur to try and slow her or at least throw off her momentum.

@Relic

ROUND 2/5
ATTEMPT: grabbing at you with my four arms
DEFENSE: large
INJURIES: bruises probably

Would it still count as wrestling if she never touched her opponent? Maybe, but it'd hurt her pride. It wasn't good sportsmanship to break the ankles of your opponent for a minute straight, you know? At least in the metaphorical sense. Literally, well...

Relying on his slower reflexes, Relic darted back into the fray, hoping to make it past the hailstorm of fists in order to catch Azrael off-balance. Second time's the charm?

She hurtled toward his feet once again, making it through the flurry with her speed intact. Brace for impact!

ROUND 3/5
ATTEMPT: slamming full force into his feet
DEFENSE: armour, enchanted helmet
INJURIES: awesome eyepatch. tired

@Azrael

She was diving back in, and he felt his fists connect a few times, but it wasn't enough to throw her off. Hurtling towards his legs, he knew what was coming in that moment and swung for her, trying to get a strong swing in as he was going down.

Down, indeed he did, the armored beast slammed into his leg with enough force to throw him off balance. He maneuvered himself to the side so that his own strike would have some strength to land, using some of his own momentum to throw into his shoulder.

@Relic

ROUND 3/5
ATTEMPT: falling punch
DEFENSE: large
INJURIES: bruises probably, on the ground

The titan crumbled, the impact reverberating through Relic's little bones. It was exhilarating to feel her success so tangibly, to know exactly how skilled she was. It was nice to know she still had it, and she was faring better than her opponent. Maybe she'd caught him off guard, even.

Then a fist collided in the center of her back with a woof and a clunk, reminding her to not get TOO cocky here. Even if it didn't carry his full weight, just a fraction was enough to knock the breath from her. She scrabbled to recover, beginning to beat his massive body with her wings as she did. NO! BAD!

She pushed herself to be a little bolder this time, slapping whatever part of him she could reach - which was quite a lot, given how much of him there was.

EDIT: rewritten because I didn't actually clock that was a success sorryyy. approved by jaymie in dms

ROUND 4/5
ATTEMPT: slap him while he's down
DEFENSE: armour, enchanted helmet
INJURIES: awesome eyepatch. tired. a little dented

@Azrael

He didn't have the chance to get up before Relic was on him again, battering him with blows that he took with a snarl. He tried to shield his vulnerable spots with his four arms while he waited for the right moment.

He thought he had it, too, he lurched forward, to try and grab for Relic to shove her onto the ground and switch their positions, but his fists only met empty air. He...missed?

@Relic

ROUND 4/5
ATTEMPT: switch places?
DEFENSE: large
INJURIES: bruises probably, on the ground

She danced away from his arms, the high of outspeeding this monstrosity absolutely getting to her head at this point. Would Ver'kahn approve? I don't think so. Too much slapping and not enough BLOOD - but that can come later.

They had some time to kill in the pit, so she chose to fill it with more of the same. She was getting a little more careful though. Relic's confidence wavered in the face of actually winning the competition, because it was becoming increasingly clear that she might.

Terrifying!

ROUND 5/5
ATTEMPT: slap him while he's down x2
