ORIGIN

Wow, it's been quite a while since Origin ran an old-fashioned ad contest! We could use with some fresh blood around here, so now it is up to YOU (you, dear viewers) to get out there and advertise our wonderful forum and grow the Hive - uh, I mean. Player count.

Each advertisement will, as usual, score you ʡ5 for each link you supply, but there will be a small addition - for each place you advertise that is not another roleplay forum, you will get ʡ10 instead. Please make sure you are advertising somewhere that allows ads, as any ads that are taken down/reported will not get you any rewards. Please link as usual, or supply screenshots if advertising somewhere less publicly accessible, such as a discord server. In the latter case, we are trusting that you are posting responsibly in a place that allows advertisements and will only count one per site or, the case of larger spaces, one per community. Please do not abuse this trust!

Each advertisement will get you an entry into a raffle, the prizes of which will be listed below. You must post at least 5 ads to qualify. Three separate raffle winners will be chosen, once you win a prize your name will be removed from the pool. Winners will be pulled August 31st!

ADDITIONALLY, if your contest advertisement leads to a new player on Origin, if they mark one of your characters as a referrer or points back to an advertisement that you linked as their source, you will receive an additional 200 magicka! Every time!

So get out there and advertise! Please post all links to advertisements in this thread and seperate by forum ads and non-forum ads.

For countless years, the caves and tunnels of Origin Cave were silent and still. Its long, bloody history echoed through its halls until even the memory of the echoes was forgotten. And then the radiant light of the crystal Spire gleamed through its halls and the Great Awakening began. The Gembound began to emerge from their stone chrysalis and the caves lived, once again.

Eleven years later, life continues. The gembound thrive, while many powers and forces work with and against them - to take their destinies as their own or to push them onward. They fight, they love, they live, and they leave their mark.

What is your destiny, what is your fate? To join with Chaos in its mission to push the caves back to its bloody origins? To give yourself to Order and their attempts to remake the world in their own image? To join with other gembound as they survive and thrive together? Or will you carve out your own future, and shake the caves from its very roots?

ORIGIN is a multi-species fantasy roleplay - you can choose from a vast list of allowed species to play, from wolves and equines, to birds and lizards, weasels and cats, and many more, with the opportunity to play hybrids or fantasy creatures that come about through new generations, mutations, and earning rare character slots.

The roleplay takes place in the mysterious Origin Cave, a vast cave system with its own weather and environments. Characters, called Gembound, receive their magic through a stone that they are born from. Each character begins freshly emerged from a chrysalis, and it’s up to you to have them learn about and explore the caves, meet new characters, battle for dominance, go on adventures, or whatever else your heart desires!

Origin features a magic and attempt system - these rely on a straight D20 roll done through posting that will determine whether your attempt is successful or not. The more you use your magic and ability, the stronger you get and the easier you find success. There are many different magical elements to choose from, with over 200 unique spells to learn!

Origin opened in May of 2015 and is still going strong! It was originally created by published author Madison Trupp and is set in her original universe. There is a vast history of lore to uncover, and many mysteries still remain undiscovered. The discord community is active, engaging, and welcoming - any questions you may have we are more than happy to answer!
