ORIGIN - A Land of Bones

She had taken up wandering quickly. She always returned to Tenn, of course, since she was the little sister. But exploring, mapping the cave - this was what she wanted to do. This area, though - she did not like it. There were bones everywhere. Memories of the dead.

Her fur was on end, making her seem... well, okay, she seemed not bigger at all. Short fur was hard to make her look big. So nervous, tiny cat padded around the bones.

That was when she realized that she wasn't quite aware of where she was. Oh, no. She looked around, and spotted a very large pile of bones. There. Digging her claws in, she scrambled up the bones, feeling sore all over. That was the price she paid for not eating meat.
But she made it up the bones, at last, and looked around. Ah. The cave was large, but she had a better view now. If she were larger, this would do nothing for her; but as tiny as she was, she had climbed up a pile of bones at least twenty times her size and it boosted her vision immensely.

Spotting where she'd been, she decided it was about time to begin to head back. Best not to make Tenn worry too much. Inima slid down the bones.

"Weeee!" she cried, delighted. Heh. She'd have to tell Tenn about that - no doubt he'd want to come back and they'd be climbing all over the place, sliding over and over again.

She shook herself out and padded onwards.

"Where are you going now?" a voice hissed, stern and exasperated.
"Exploring!"

Mordecai, the left head, groaned. Henry, the right head, had learned that he was better at movement than his twin brother was and decided to go on many adventures and explorations. Heinrich never meant to intentionally - he loved his brother, after all - but everytime he did this it drove Mordecai insane.

Of course though, Mordecai wanted his brother to be happy, but frequently wished that happiness could also occur to him once in a while. He allowed the right head to slither forth, himself would be dragged along if he didn't have his head lifted in alarm, alert. The twins only measured in at an 'impressive' fifteen inches; they could be eaten at any given momen--

"Friend!" Henry's weak voice hissed, and Mordecai's head twisted to peer at the stranger. A cat, small and fluffy--
"Is that one of Dovefeather's sisters?"
"Friend!"

Mordecai shook his head. Meanwhile Henry was slithering with all his might, hissing happily. He was behind Inima now, calling out "Friend! Hi! Friend!"

Inima blinked, hearing a voice. Who was --- she turned around, and spotted a snake. No, two snakes? No... a two-headed snake. Surprised by the unusual sight, she sat down and just blinked at him (them?) for a moment.

Hi! Friend!

Calling her a friend? Already? Inima felt strangely honored. With a small smile - the snake was almost as big as she was! - she layed down to be closer to his (their?) eye level.

"Hello, f-friend," she said shyly, "My name's Inima. What's yours? Do you... do you have t-two names? I - I've never seen a t-two headed being before." She grimaced at the stammer on the 'two'. Gah. She didn't always have a stammer, just when she wasn't sure of her words and she tried to take them back.

You couldn't take words back, though, so she always continued speaking once she started. It just left her stammering. So very frustrating.

The left head winced. He hated the deformity being pointed out and, worst of all, this cat seemed almost repulsed at mentioning it too. The right one, who had declared himself as Henry, didn't even waver. "Hi, Inima! I'm Henry!" he hissed happily. "We have two names! My brother is Mort-.. mm.. Mort-""
"Mordecai," the other head chimed in.
"Morty!"

The left head shook his head and rested his head on the ground, eyes closing. "We are not normal, but we have not seen another snake. We are new."
"Kerberos has three heads."
"Kerberos is not a snake, Heinrich," the left head sighed. "But I am sure there are.. more of us, somewhere."

The right head looked towards his conjoined brother with a sudden frown that lasted for less than a whole second before his gaze flicked to Inima again. "Do you know Dove?"

Inima nodded. Mordecai and Henry. She looked at the Mordecai head, frowning thoughtfully. "D-do you prefer M-mordecai or Morty?" she asked him. She tilted her head with a small hesitation. So... the snake was a them, she decided. Each head was a 'he', an individual.

"I'm n-new too," Inima offered, "I only met my b-brother so far." She tilted her head. "At least you're not the only ones w-with m-multiple heads. I bet K-kerberos is nice."

Her smile was earnest but uncertain. She felt like the head named Mordecai didn't like her. And they were nice, Inima felt. She just wasn't sure what to do - she wanted Mordecai to like her.

Dove? Who was Dove? She frowned intensely. "I d-don't know who that is," the cat explained, "I'm sure Dove is v-very nice though."
