Follow your dreams.

Nyx immediately took a liking to Orion. This room was large and covered in ruins - perfect for an adventurer like the young doe. She waltzed into the room, only to stop once she'd caught sight of the glittering ceiling. It was covered by some kind of special stone that glittered amazingly even in the poor light of the gems and plants. "Wow." Nyx murmured, slowly continuing to walk towards the circular building in the middle of Orion whilst her gaze flickered from the ground to the ceiling.

The fawn entered the round building with wide eyes, trying to catch as much light as she could. The lighting in the room was poor, but even without using her spells Nyx could make out many seats, all facing the middle of the room. Parts of the ceiling had crumbled and crashed on a few seats during the flow of time and Nyx could see the glistening stones above, twinkling magically. It truly was a mesmerizing sight.

Ji’bassa was exploring today, this time without the company of his friend and “littermate” Juniper. He found himself in a large circular room at some point during his wanderings, and decided that he rather liked the place. He could count hundreds of different places to settle down for a catnap… He didn’t have much time to look around, however, before his ears picked up the clicking sound of hooves. But he had never seen an animal with hooves, so he had no idea what was making that sound. He was curious and unafraid, and was going to just simply pad over to the creature before she had fully entered. But in all of two nano-seconds, his hunting instincts took over and he suddenly realized how hungry he was.

Without really thinking about it, he slinked off to a darker corner of the round room (because circular rooms totally have corners, what are you talking about) and crouched low to the ground, tail flicking silently. He crouched there in the shadows, happy his fur was black so that it blended in more, and accessed his Magic without noticing, attempting to feel the heartbeat of the creature in the room with him, to pinpoint its exact location and perhaps what it was feeling. Heart rate could at least tell him if it was calm or not…

POST-ATTEMPT EDIT:
His Magic came easily to him, and in a moment he could sense the creature's heartbeat. She seemed calm enough, and now he could tell where she was in the room. He had to let the spell go after a few seconds, though, as it was still difficult for him to cast his Magic for very long. He settled himself down and waited, prepared to stalk this creature for as long as it took to take her down.

Nyx didn't feel uncomfortable in the darkness of the circular room, despite the feeling of eyes lingering on her. She blamed her instincts, which made her more anxious than she liked to admit and that was the exact reason she ignored them and continued exploring the dark room.

The seats around the center of the room were all made of stone, but they looked like good enough places for a nap. Nyx wasn't tired though and instead felt like climbing to the top-row of seats, where the darkness swallowed most traces of light. The fawn jumped onto a seat and focused on her sense of sight, starring into the darkness ahead of her. Between her shoulders, her Sky Blue Topaz glowed as the doe called for her magicka to enhance her sight.

Post Roll Edit
Instead of her sight getting better, Nyx felt like the darkness was simply starring back at her. Weird. Maybe she'd used her magic too much in the last few days? Well, whatever. The fawn shrugged and turned away from the upper row of seats, deciding to instead hop over the closest row of seats, which was dimly lit by the light cast through the hole in the ceiling.

Ji'bassa watched as the deer stood still for a few moments, doing what he didn't know. But then she seemed to shrug and continue looking around as if nothing had happened. Had she noticed him? He hoped not. He needed to take her down, after all, and that would be a lot harder if she suddenly decided to bolt out the door. The cat’s orange eyes flared in the darkness as he took a hesitant step forward, hoping he was quiet enough that she wouldn’t hear him. Had he known how truly small he was compared to… most other animals, actually, he might have decided against his next action. But by the time he realized this would never work, he was already bounding out of the shadows at the deer.

As he approached her, he noticed for the first time her true size and his ears went back. His over-sized snow-shoe paws skidded on the stone floor and he let out a, “Mrowr!” of alarm. He came to a jerking halt right in front of the female, and stared up at her with large eyes, swallowing a little fearfully. He hoped she was friendly. One look at her hooves told him it would hurt if she decided to clonk him on the head…

It always seems impossible
until it's done.

Nyx jumped happily from seat to seat, humming a random melody she was thinking of off the top of her head. It filled the room with life, keeping the eerie silence at bay. The doe was completely unaware of someone approaching her, because even her keen hearing couldn't pick up on the silent tap-tap of paw-pads.

And because she didn't know that she wasn't alone, Nyx was very surprised when she heard a loud 'Mrowr!' tear through the silence. Nyx' heartbeat sped up considerably, her ears turned towards where noise had come from and her eyes jumped onto the small form of a kitten. "You surprised me!" She said, black eyes starring into those of the small cat. "Nyx didn't hear you at all." The doe explained, feeling her heartbeat calm down. She wasn't afraid of something so small and cuddly. And look at those tiny feet! How cute!

She smiled at the cat, all surprise and shock forgotten at the idea of meeting a possible new friend. Nyx could't imagine why the cat would try to surprise her and the shocked look on the other gembound's face made it all the more logical for Nyx that it was merely an accident and that their surprise at seeing each other was mutual.

Ji’bassa narrowed his eyes and looked at the giant creature with hooves with an annoyed expression. He was supposed to be chomping on her right now. He let out a sigh as she happily chirped out a greeting, and lifted a paw to begin licking it. Lazily, in between licks, he said, “Ji’bassa’s name is Ji’bassa.” He said nothing more, not really interested in a conversation. He was a juvenile, after all, and quite a brat when things didn’t go his way.

Secretly, now that he knew she was too big for him to eat, he did wonder if maybe they could be friends. The only other creature he knew was Juniper, and she was just like him. They were both cats. This… Nyx was the first creature he had met that wasn’t a cat. But being a cat meant he was too proud and aloof to admit that he wanted to be this girl’s friend. Cats wanted to be friends with you on their own time. Not yours. So he said nothing, and continued grooming himself. Waiting to see where this would go next.
