ORIGIN - the purpose is real

i was birthed out of the chrysalis with an elegant fluidity, pushed forth with the most sadistic auras. i snorted, sneezed, grunted, before shaking my head as i sat upright. long appendages were folded up against my body, my dark dark body, now glistening with the chrysalis's love juice. ears swiveled forth, as mismatched eyes looked around my surroundings. thoroughly confused, lost, and somewhat cold, i didn't try to stand. i attempted to minimize all sounds as i didn't know if danger was lurking about. i took this time to observe my body as much as i could, taking into account what and where everything was. spots? no, inverted spots, small markings transitioning elegantly into the backdrop of an ashen pelt. winding down into dark appendages, ending in light hooves with soft feathers. then, something glinting upon my chest. a small...stone like thing. it shone, and as i focused, something started to happen. as if i was trying to perform something, energy began to pull from me. i was then able to sense certain things, little creatures scurrying about, other creatures i couldn't figure out. but still, i remained where i was, wondering what on earth just happened and why.

Some are hatch in the tunnels, others hatch in woods or rainforest and then there is the Black Diamond in Monoceros. A sleep in the the gem is a cute little gembound. It would become something magnificent. A rumple, a shake and a big loud crack were the sounds being brought forth from the the black diamond that rested on the ground. The creature inside start kicking and poking her tiny hooves into the walls of her gem until finally she was free. She laid there quietly taking in the smells and sight. Her white with blue roan spots body wet and covered in what was left of her gem's slime.

Her name Onyx and a black diamond gem shaped like a heart smack dab in the middle of her forehead right above her eyes. Oynx's tail flicked and swoosh back in forth. The fear of standing was not there. She wanted to stand but Oynx didnt know if her legs would hold her. Shaking her head as she laid there, the young Filly got to her feet. Though she was a little wobbly at first didnt bother her. Her tail swooshed again as she started searching for something to eat. She dug at the ground for sometime then found something to eat.

There was nothing else but this chrysalis I resided in. Perhaps only the liquid I had festered within for so long and the resounding beat of my own heart. It was a little reassuring to know that my heart pounded strongly, my lungs filled with air, no matter how stale it had become from days of being breathed in and out. The liquid I resided in was also stagnant, filled with the scent of birth.

I was completely unaware of the winds that rocked my shell quietly. The motions were comforting to me, lulling my uneasy mind to rest every single day, curling up tighter than I already was and tucking my head. Today was one of those days, but something was a little different. The winds still blew, and they threw my home side to side. But I could truly feel them... understand them. Suddenly, the chrysalis that had shielded me from the world outside for so very long split, light appearing in the darkness I slept in. The liquid I grew within began to drain out, and I could feel a strange chill settle into me. Was this what it was like to be cold?

Once again, the shell smashed into stone, and yet more light shone into the darkness I lay in. It felt right, though. This was supposed to happen. So I let it. With a great heaving groan, the stone careened into rock, and from it I was birthed... in an ungraceful little heap of legs.

Slowly, I blinked. Blinded by this new thing that seemed to be known as 'light', my eyes struggled to adjust to it. Perhaps I had emerged into yet another shell. I was proven wrong, though, as I lifted my head from the terra firma I had landed upon and gazed about. Brown surrounded me, and lights shone brightly. Arching my neck to turn behind me, I could see the remnants of my home. I supposed this was my home now. Best explore it.

For the first time, I stretched my legs. They were gangly things, like walking on stilts that bent. Obviously, I didn't know how to use them. At first, one foot lay flat on the rock, echoing with a soft clicking noise. Then another, and another, until all four... I was sure I had four legs... were straightened. Of course I was extremely hunched over and they were spread far apart. I was daring enough to lift a foot and try to take a step. Just then, a great gust whirled around me... and suddenly it was gone, and I was miraculously standing still. A few more steps later, and I was prancing around happily. Off in the distance, though, I could see something else. Something familiar. So I trotted towards it.

It was another one like me! Long legs, a similar face, small. And a second one, too! We were horses, right? Happily, I bounded forth and whinnied the best I could.

soon, there were others. my curled body then unfurling so that i may stand, and greet the pair which now came about. one was an odd multicolored, splashed with black and white - it seemed frailer. my own limbs and body thicker than it's own. i questioned this, but then as the other approached i realized it was as thick as i was, and i stood. i whinnied to the both of them, exerting the shrill nicker as softly as i could. ears swiveled forth as i remained stationary where i'd gotten up to stand, and watched with mismatching lenses both the black and white frail foal, and the thick darker foal.
"hmm, mmmh,"
i gave a sort of soft rumbling, attempting to speak at them to further my salutations. however, i failed almost miserably.

Eosphoros cantered down the winding paths of Monoceros, taking in the sights and sounds, mane blowing in the breeze as he yelled out his songs at the very tippy-top of his lungs.

"Oh wind and ice and snow and hail! Dust and dirt and sleet and gale! Through fearsome weather, bards do brave! Through marsh, tunnel, wood and cave!"

The colt was steadier on his hooves now than he had been at his hatching, though he was without his night friend. Vaguely, he thought she'd tried to tell him to stay put, but then again, he couldn't exactly hear!

"Danger, dread and ghoulish sites - none doth make a bard take flight! Such pithy tasks make true bards laugh, as do most of the riff raff! Through the decades, through the years, we singers sing through boos and cheers! We care not for coin or praise, only for the sunny days!"

Bounding about the cave, the foal was most definitely not watching where he was going, and as a result almost face planted right into a gathering of... other foals?! Eyes widening, Eosphoros bounced in place, whinnying, tail swishing from side to side in excitement.

"So many friends, and all so small? Oh, whatever shall I call you all?"

Hopefully, none of them were put off by being screamed at in rhyme.

Onyx looked at the new horses that showed up and her tail swooshed. She was unsure of all the new gembounds that she became somewhat frightened. She whinnied and went into hiding which was no good when they were in a cave. She didnt know what to do. Hiding wasnt going to work and trying to call out loud wasnt a good idea. Finally little Nyxie decided to make friends with the new gembound. "I am Onyx but you cans call meh Nyxie or Nyx." she said.
