A comfortable warmth, the only sounds that broke through the outer layer of the chrysalis were those of the occasional bug zipping past, each time prompting a near silent honk from the startled gembound's throat. Wings were pulled closer to gray sides, head lowering to touch lower jaw against the smooth surface of the gem. Small shifts in position made the black and red chrysalis shift ever so slightly, creating a movement vaguely similar to a rocking cradle.
A deep breath, and a webbed foot stretched, lightly nudging at the surrounding walls of the chrysalis. His dark hued eyes were simply watching the specks of red among the expanse of black hiding him within. He would be released from this soon, he would have to break himself out of it. Use what strength he had to do it. He had to find his way out, or he'd never meet anyone on the outside! It just had to be wonderful out there, now didn't it?
His gaze traveled to the small portion of the chrysalis, near his face before gently tapping his beak against it, feeling the world around him shake with the gentle taps. Yeah, he would have to get out of here soon. He drew his head back after a moment, hesitating. Did he want to leave the warmth of the chrysalis? No, he didn't, but he would have to. He knew that much already.
With that thought in mind, the small Cygnet kicked against the familiar walls, wings shifting at his sides with the action.
He felt the walls cave, tumbling free of the small chrysalis with a low honk of pain, head shaking as he attempted to right himself. Only to turn his attention to the surrounding foliage, it was so... colorful
Feasting upon a small fish he'd just caught, the cream and brown eagle's attention was draw away from his meal when the splitting crack of a chrysalis sounded - ringing into the atmosphere. He could not see at first what it was that had been birthed, but he wanted to investigate. With a scrutinizing eye, the eaglet picked up his half eaten fish with a stark yellow beak, hopping along the rock flooring toward the creature. And as he neared, he realized it was bird-like, just like him. His head cocked to the side as the eagle dropped his fish, stepping over it to put it behind him as he observes the little creature before him - which at this rate was almost half his own size. A large bird indeed.
His body lowered, flightless wings unfurled slightly so as to maintain proper equilibrium. Azurite lenses surveyed the chick, all the while keeping silent until finally, he'd address the newborn.
"can you speak yet?"
He asked abruptly, skull cocking to the side again as he waited for the chick's response. Be it words, chirps, or silence.
@varne
Dark eyes shifted over the foliage, watching it with a childish curiosity. The sound of something thumping to the ground made the Cygnet swing his neck around, body turning after him, unable to see anything different before the sudden voice broke his curious silence.
'Can you speak yet?'
The swan quickly located the source of the voice, the lowered body hiding something under it, though he noted with some form of happiness, they were nearly the same size! Excited, the small feathered avian nodded his head.
"Yeah! I can speak just fine!" He chimed happily, wings fluttering at his sides for a moment before tilting his head, finally moving to fully face the new face.
"Who are you? Are you my new friend?" He asked, head changing its angle with each question before he'd moved to peck at the shards of the chrysalis he'd come from. Webbed feet turning the black and red speckled surface over with a happy chirp.
"Whats your name?"
@ambrus
and so the little gembound could speak, and quite well. ambrus cocked his head to the other side, and was about to respond when another creature approached the pair. another bird, yet different. smaller, however somehow more mature. ambrus stepped back, as if to widen the circle so that the newcomer wouldn't feel left out or excluded purposely. as he did step back, his fish was rather exposed. he picked it up with his beak, hopped over to the newborn and dropped it in front of him, before hopping backward -fluttering useless wings in the process.
"in case you're hungry, you can have the rest of my fish."
wow, ambrus, that was mighty generous of you. the eaglet's azurite lenses then focused upon the one named enna bevy, giving her a curt nod before speaking aloud, addressing the both of them.
"and i am ambrus."
he spoke proudly, preening for a moment before looking back between both of the birds.

Flightless wings trembled at his sides for a moment as the sound of talons clicking on slate told him of another landing just a few feet from him. Surprised by the arrival, the Swan stared for a moment at the smaller bird. And then honked happily, a full body shake his only other answer as the two birds introduced himself. He had more friends!
"Hi Bevy!, Hi Ambrus!" the Cygnet said, turning his gaze back to Ambrus, seeing the eagle hop closer with something dangling in his beak before it'd been dropped in front of webbed feet. His head cocked to the side for a moment as he stared down at the scaled body, and promptly shook his head, the action sending him off balance for a moment.
"I'm good! You should have it." He said, nudging it with his bill for a moment back towards the Bald Eagle. At least before pausing, staring intently at the ground for a few moments as he straightened back up.
"My name is... uh.... " A shuffle of his feet, and he swan faintly nodded his head ever so briefly.
"My name is Varne! Are we going to be friends?" He asked, settling himself on the ground to keep his body warm. Gaze shifting between the two birds across from him.
@Bevy
@Ambrus
friends? amrbus's head cocked again, and retrieved the rejected fish. without so much as a smile, the eaglet feasted upon the remaining fish as the other bird, small yet more mature, came and explained to them what this place was. varne, was the bird's name, then enna bevy. ambrus gave a curt not to the both of them to finish the greetings. then her mention of staying in pisces, about the group she called maji walezi. ambrus's uesless wings fluttered about for a moment.
"that's very kind of you, but i live in canis with the bonebound."
he then looked pointedly at the little gembound, the new hatchling.
"but you, you'd do well to stay among a group. could save your life."
precious, precious advice from the likes of ambrus, who then smiled a wicked grin with 'angry' eyes.
"i come some times to hunt for fish,"
he spoke a littler louder in volume this time, turning away from the other birds to observe the area and all it's ponds and pools. the moment he took surveying the area was as if he'd not been in pisces for some time, taking in the beautiful sight.
"if young varne doesn't eat fish, what does he eat?"
he asked semi-curiously.
