There was nothing Evening loved more than soaring through the air; even though her wings weren't particularly good at supporting her. She wasn't sure if it was because of the particularly heavy stone on her talon or if it was because her wings were simply just too small. It didn't matter all that much to her, however.
The crow flew through the tunnels until she ended up in Eridanus and as she landed she looked around, quizzically. She hadn't quite forgotten what she offered to find for Tal'at and Aquarian, but there was a problem: she had no clue what a seed was.
She did, however, know what a shiny was.
A slender talon lifted to scratch the side of her head as she thought. Perhaps these seeds were shiny; but if they weren't she was definitely going to bring a shiny back to Dragon and Aquarian anyway. Who knew - maybe a seed was shiny, too, though Tal'at hadn't given much information about them. Perhaps everybody just assumed she knew what they were like. Eve was no songbird. She ate things that were rotting away and smelled really bad - not that she minded them at all, of course. She just found that meat tasted better than the disgusting green-things that were in Eridanus.

The crow's talon was lowered to the ground. The creature's head turned upwards to the cave ceiling before it lowered once more; the bird beginning to take quick and long steps forward - almost leaping across the cave floor. Eve liked to think of herself as an expert in finding herself small, shiny things she could stash into her nest and claim as her own; which is exactly why she would deem herself the best person to go looking for seeds - but it would indeed help if she knew what a seed even looked like.
As the crow looked up once more she noticed round, orange-yellow things clinging to the trees. With a tilt of the head the bird flittered off upwards and into the tree branch, looking left and right before she began pecking at it. With a quizzical look making it's way across the crow's features she bit it and almost immediately recoiled.
Was this a seed? She couldn't be too sure.
The crow bit once more, and recoiled once again. With an angry squawk, she outright attacked the bulbous, rather juicy 'seed.' wings beating furiously as she hovered around it, screaming and biting and clawing at it until it eventually dropped to the ground.

Seething and covered in a sweet-smelling water, the crow landed on the branch, scowling and panting. She glowered down at the fallen orange-yellow seed on the mossy cave ground below her. What a stupid-looking object that she had the misfortune of finding.
Slowly, the crow began to calm down - and when she did she tilted her head before she swept down to the ground and looked at it more closely. The thing she had so viciously attacked had a very thin skin that made a rather poor attempt at guarding soft yellow flesh inside it. It was lying in a pool of it's own sweet-scented blood.
At least, Eve assumed it was blood.
It had been bit and torn open, with a beak and with sharp claws. In fact, her beak and claws were beginning to feel oddly sticky. At length, the crow tapped the 'seed' with her beak. It didn't move; and so she assumed it was dead. The crow lifted her head and looked around once more.
And then she dipped back down and began tearing at the soft juicy flesh, holding down the seed with her talon to get a better grip of the yellow flesh inside the seed.

And then she allowed the seed-flesh to simply drop out of her maw. Never had she ever allowed something so filled with hate and disgust into her mouth before. This thing was not the carrion she loved to eat; it could hardly even be called food. With a scowl she turned her back to the disgusting seed-thing and she tossed her head up to show that she would pay it no mind any longer.
Except that she did pay it mind. She turned around and placed her foot on it.
For a moment, she thought nothing happened as the silver-blue stone on her foot began to shine a brilliant silver, until suddenly she noticed a very faint glow around the edges of the seed she had practically destroyed. What a pathetic, useless, disgusting, vile thing she had to deal with.
It didn't even glow right. What kind of thing can't even be turned into a shiny? Even dull oldrocks could be turned into shinies-- this had to be some kind of joke. Why did Tal'at want these? It then occurred to her that, perhaps-- JUST perhaps, this thing wasn't a seed.
So what was it? Was it poison? No, it's dead, poison things can't be dead. The crow croaked somewhat as she gazed upon the not-seed.

After glaring again at what she decided was not a seed anymore, she spat and scowled and puffed herself up. Now might be a good time to find some water for a bath, seeing as her talons, beak and the front of her feathers were sticky and covered in the blood of the creature she had just demolished.
She squawked once more at her fallen enemy before she began to hop off through Eridanus, looking around. She wasn't sure exactly where a small stream would be (she knew already that whatever Dragon called 'the Eyes' were very dangerous) but she knew such streams existed - she bathed and drank in them before.
And lo and behold, her talons were suddenly wet. Looking down she realised she had already stumbled right into the stream and with a sigh she crouched down, feathers fluffed up and she began to wash herself vigorously of the creature's sweet and sticky blood.
She was there far longer than anticipated, some of the 'blood' already knotted and stuck her feathers together uncomfortably, but some time later the crow emerged from the stream with her feathers unusually shiny. The crow shook herself dry with a sigh before she looked around once more.

Eve wasn't very sure what to do next - she couldn't return to Cetus; but she'd only been looking for less than five minutes. The bird ruffled her feathers again and she looked around yet again before she began hobbling off. Perhaps she'd focus on what she knew first - shinies. She'd find the best thing and make it magic.
And she certainly found something - a rock.
Ah yes, the mighty rock (of about an inch big) would do just fine. Eve hopped up on top of the rock and, content with how familiar and natural it all was, she concentrated in soft silence as the gem on her foot began to shimmer quietly.
But she found, rather quickly, that Eridanus almost seemed to be cursed for doing magic in. Almost the exact same thing seemed to happen as the crow leaned over, squinting at the rock which seemed to now be barely glowing - not glowing enough for Eve's tastes.
With a croak the crow hopped off and looked around. This idea hadn't gone so well - she had to find something else-- a seed. She could probably take a bone out of Eridanus and make it magic; she'd done it before, afterall. The crow hobbled on, looking for whatever the heck a seed could be.

... Perhaps she'd have to ask. Perhaps it'd be smarter to go into Canis, get a bone and ask Tal'at what a stupid seed was, but there wasn't just one problem in there - there were two. The first; Tal'at was blind. How was a blind dork like Tal'at supposed to know what a seed looked like?
Secondly, Giggle was probably guarding every single bone in Canis, though she seemed to allow the crow to take one of them and make it magic once, though just once. On the other hand (or rather talon, Eve is a bird) Giggle might know what a seed was. With a croak, Eve decided to take a risk.
She abruptly took off into the air, disappointingly empty-handed (empty-taloned? Empty-beaked?), and swept past the trees and out of Eridanus. Canis wasn't a long flight away - in fact it was surprisingly close, if you could ignore the horrid coldness of tunnel K - the reason why Eve avoided Canis so much.
Dark and cold, it made flying a horrific experience to go through - Eve often found herself ramming into the wall, or the ceiling, or basically anything damn else that decided to jut out and block her from flying correctly - and this she hated; even worse when you try to leave.
But Eve had a job to do. Unfortunately.
