It had been... quite literally... a day since the small creature's emergence. Bee had stuck to Barnett and called him 'Dad' a few times, so he hid in the weird little shelf of mushrooms on his back leg. The hummingbird couldn't quite figure out why exactly he had them growing there... or any mushrooms for that matter. In the shelf, he found his old shell. He wondered why Dad was keeping it. He quietly plotted a little bit and proclaimed that he would take it and do something awesome with it!
Dad fell asleep, since Bee felt him get really still and quiet. So that's when the pea-sized bird set out. First, he pushed out his little shell from the mushroom shelf onto a soft piece of moss below. Then he plopped down right after it.
Gazing up at the great and tall jungle around him, the small bird widened his eyes. It was a lot bigger from down here! Squinting, he wanted something he could start with for his little dee-ay-why project.
