"And when I walk the streets
kings and queens step aside"

Exploration, what fun.
Alright, so I was bored. And it wasn’t because I wasn’t doing anything. No, I was bored because this place was boring. Nothing fun or exciting ever happened. Ever. It was just…oh, a creature there, oh something screaming in the vicinity, oh look that rock moved. No violence. No action. Nothing important every happened.

Ugh. I wanted something to do other than just look for shit. I’d already slept a lot, ate a lot, practiced fighting a lot, and tried the magic thing a time or two, but I wanted…more. What that more was, that, well that I wasn’t so sure of exactly. Was it company I craved? Probably not, as every creature I’d yet encountered was batshit craycray. Stick for brains being a prime example. Maybe I just wanted a spar. Probably. I felt the strength in my limbs, the power of my strides…but had yet to really use them. Sure, I was still young and admittedly somewhat uncoordinated…but I had to learn somehow, eh? At this point, I was almost tempted to start pushing around boulders just for the hell of it. But that felt like going to a level I just shouldn’t go…

So, here I trudged. Padding along the riverside grumpily, barely paying attention to my surroundings.

oh tsk tsk, ambrus was disappointed. dragon hadn't come to snatch up the leopard cub yet. it wasn't vicktor, so a sneer replaced the wicked grin as the eagle inched closer toward the edge of his perch, the shadows unveiling the adolescent even by a bit. he wondered why the leopard was so sour. it irked him, in a bad way, to the left. he hated things that irked him to the left. his head cocked as azurite lenses observed the creature, before screeching a mighty eagle's caw. wings unfurled with the action, as the bird then took flight with a powerful beat of his wings. he was careful to stay in the vicinity of the new gembound, of which he hadn't the pleasure of tormenting- err, meeting- yet.

"oh what a sour face! perhaps the lurking croc could tear it right off."
with a gesture toward the river, the sly bird then performed a few circles before landed upon the ground at a small distance away from the river and the leopard himself. the sneer had long gone, replaced by a sinister half grin.
"i am ambrus. and you are?"
he asked loudly, stark yellow beak clacking a moment, his taut body ready to take flight if needbe at any second.

What the actual fuck was that?
No, really…what was that? I turned my skull to locate the scratching against stone sound that’d touched me. What I found…well, first I had no idea what the hell it was. It was in the air, flapping about, but it blended rather well into the shadowed stone. Especially as I had to look up to see it. Annoying. Why was this big flapping thing following after me? What did it want?

And then the thing squawked at me. Sour face? The lurking what now could do what exactly? A subtle (actually not subtle at all, but I thought it was) growl vibrated my chest as the annoyance rose within me. But wait. Hold up. I’d just been ranting angrily about how frustrated I was that nothing every fucking happened. Well, this was something. Actually, this might be a fun something. My growl cut off, almost turning to a purr as the creature landed. He was just a bit far…hmm. Ambrus? What kind of name was Ambrus? The annoying kind, obviously.

I shifted my frame so that I was nearly touched the water’s edge. My gaze brushed over the liquid before returning to my prey. Though, really, I hated the taste of feathers.

“What does my name do for an annoying creature like yourself?”

Then I pounced, though, honestly, halfheartedly. I had no intention of actually killing the creature this quickly. But I did find the idea of chasing it rather entertaining.

it was a damn good thing the eagle was on his toes, err-talons, because no sooner did the bird land did the leopard youth attempt to pounce upon him. though, however lightly it was, one would have thought ambrus was being burned alive at the stake. he flapped his wings, attempting to wriggle his way from the leopard, as he then summoned all his magic, pulling from his energy to attempt and cast his spell to discharge the cat from him. with the summoning successful, ambrus's static spell was executed with ease. sparks of yellow and blue could be seen jumping from his body toward the cat's, in hopes the leopard would feel his wrath.

he screeched again, wriggling from the light clutch of the opposing force, flapping and giving powerful beats as he returned to a perch, looking down upon the creature with animosity and rage. while perched, his wings unfurled ever slightly, as azurite lenses filled with the now ignited anger. what on earth was this cat even thinking.
"foolish boy!"
he spat, sneering at the cat as his body took on an intimidating eagle posture.
"try me, and see what happens."
landing on the ground wouldn't be a thing the bird would ever do, probably. landing on the ground only meant a few things for the semi-experienced eagle. and he'd rather shoot charges and kamikaze the leopard.

Winner.
The feather monster was in my grasp. Honestly, I was shocked I actually made it this far. But I guess luck was on my side tonight. And then it all turned to hell.

What was that? I felt something sharp…but hot…but stabbing…but weird. It didn’t last long, but instinctually I’d jumped back. Which…of course, allowed the annoying thing to get away. I immediately jumped up into the air, swiping after the bird…but I was much too late to actually grab him. My play toy was gone now. And for what? A freaky zap? I bet that was some kind of magic shit. And then…then, the little stone head had the audacity to call me foolish, and a boy…and warn me? What the hell? What an idiot.

“You’re a damn chicken. Can’t fight me for real, so you fly away? Can’t escape me because you’re weak, so you use your baby magic? You’re soft and worthless.”

I shouted my words, perhaps tantruming a bit because he was now out of my reach...then turned and began trudging back along the river’s bank. Well that was pointless and lame. Though, I would admit…however stupid the encounter was, at least it held some entertainment. Maybe the bird would try to come after me again. That’d be perfect….absolutely perfect.

Abruptly, with a flood of water surging over the rocky lip of the river, the wet alligator bobbed up high in the waterline. Toothy jaws parted and deep, rumbling laughter boomed forth.

He didn't speak, at first; he just lurked there, laughing heartily, heavy head swinging to look from the eagle to the panther, and back. He clutched the river's shoreline to hold on, laughing, and laughing, and laughing. Apparently, the fighting young Gembound had him in near-hysterics.

"Don't let me stop you; continue on, by all means," he guffawed. Apparently he was intending to be a spectator, urging the two to carry on so he could watch. "This is the best entertainment I've had in days!"

Back to laughing he went, showing no intention of breaking the two up.

ambrus chirped a chortle, flapping his wings without flight as the leopard spoke straight from his ass and out of pure idiocy.
"baby magic, that's funny. and what's yours? hm? having not used it yet, i'd assume yours is even more pathetic."
he watched as he walked on, ready to head back to canis so as to rest and be in worthy company. but then, a rather familiar rumble ensued as the face of dragon appeared, and ambrus eyed the creature. an idea popped into his head.
maimed monster must be hungry, perhaps i should oblige.
he took flight with a powerful beat of his wings, as he then aimed directly for the leopard's side, talons spread wide and limbs attempting to thrust into his side. but the only half experienced bird was unable to execute his attack, so he flew over the leopard as he then circled overhead the water dwelling monster.
