Since hatching from his tiny rock-egg, the itty bitty bird had grown exponentially; granted, he would never be that big to begin with, Hurai was proud of himself just for making it this far. He had struggled to wander from his hatching place to Orion, and then struggled some more to explore the dusty cavern - the buildings held little interest to him, mostly because he couldn't perceive what they were, but he did stare wistfully up at the windows above and wonder can I reach them? He was a small thing, a round thing, covered in fluff rather than feather. Eventually his flight feathers would grow in - but that wouldn't be for a while yet, leaving the plump baby to sit and stare, ponderous and sullen. He tried to back up among the rocks and peer in to the windows, but no matter what angle he chose - nor how high he climbed atop piles of rubble - the windows were just black smudges sitting out of his reach. All the work it took for him to get here, and it was for nothing! Hurai didn't even know why he was so fixated on the windows. He just wanted to sit there, to roost and get a better view, probably. Or maybe the hollows spoke to a primal part of the baby bird; reminding him, somehow, that he wasn't meant to be out of a nest quite yet.
