Maeve is not sure what draws her back to the room of sparkly sky. Perhaps it is because it is in this room that she took her first breaths, and upon it's craggy floor that she learned to walk. Nor, really, is she sure why she was drawn away from her small herd. Her herd - as odd as it was - meant safety, as safety could be found in numbers. Not traipsing around the dark, completely alone.

The slender filly kept close to the walls of Orion, trying to divide her attention equally between the ground she needed to traverse and the sky that captivated her soul. Eventually this division of labors cost her, and she stumbled, knocking loose a piece of rubble that had previously been attached to a building. This in and of itself startled her, but it was the way the stone's fall echoed throughout the chamber that almost made her fall face first into panic mode. It sounded as though something were creeping up on her and she innately reaches for magic she didn't know she possessed, not sure what it would even do....

It built up in her system and she could practically feel the sizzle of magic in her blood and on her skin but it faded, leaving her cold and almost empty. Feeling defenseless, she tried a different tactic, but was unable to hide the shudder of trepidation that shook her coat. "Hello?"

Ash returned to the star-shining room of Orion, looking for her friend. The buildings made a wonderful playground for her, plus if anything scary happened, she could run off to cousin Kerberos and feel plenty safe. As it was, the noodle darted from cracks of buildings to nooks and perches and back into the shadows again. She made quite a racket with her scampering-- but suddenly a voice called out to her, greeting her, and she paused inside of the building she was in.

Something was just on the other side! She scampered up the wall until she reached the top, leaning over the lip to look down at whoever was calling out to her. Immediately, she saw a horse-- smaller, less bulky, but still elegant and pretty. Perhaps this mare knew where her friend was? At any rate, the noodle reached up on to her hind legs, the wings placed at her haunches spreading for balance.

She raised both of her forepaws up and waved them frantically, putting a light smile on her maw. She assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that horses all spoke the same sort of deaf language, but of course it was a silly thing to think. The pony bellow would have no better luck understanding her than anyone else, and she would simply have to cope with it. It didn't stop her from flailing her paws everywhere in greeting, of course.

It doesn't immediately occur to the small filly to look up. Most everything took place here, on the ground, where her ashen hooves touched the ground. But the sound she heard - so very faintly - of a scrabbling sounded again.. above her? Confused, her pale blue eyes cast upward, searching for where the pebble-fall sound was coming from. When at last she could see the creature, she shrank back slightly, but realized that it probably didn't mean her much harm. At least not yet. For now it was quite some distance away, sitting upright and waving it's tiny pink feet in her direction.

May frowns, unsure of what was going on. From what little she could see, the animal was clearly tiny and had those weird feather legs like Eve. But it was somehow fuzzy too. And tiny. But it didn't talk. Clearly the creature hadn't heard her. Less frightened now, but clearly still cautious, she extended her neck out, held down low and addressed the thing again in a stage whisper. "Hello. Are nice?"

Tentatively she raises her right foreleg and waves it in Ashtoreth's direction, although to be fair, May is still a little wobbly and isn't able to raise it high or wave it much. Afterwards, she feels a bit foolish.

@Ashtoreth

For a moment, Ashtoreth was afraid that the filly might abscond, the way she rather visibly flinched-- but then, after a quiet moment, the equine spoke again. Her paws fumbled back down on to the ledge of the wall, clinging before she toppled down the sheer drop. Her furry face nodded eagerly at the question, the feathers adoring her mane shaking and puffing out with the effort.

The mare even was so nice as to raise a hoof and wave back, though she didn't shout and sing like Ash's other friend. That was alright though, the tiny mustelid didn't mind. Instead, she let out a wheeze that could have been a squeak, and tried to wiggle down the wall without hurting herself.

The brown creature slipped off of the wall head first, but the wind seemed to pick up with her descent. The wings on her bottom half flapped furiously, and with an incredibly gentle thud, she landed forepaws first onto the ground, nearly toppling over in the process-- but in the end, relatively unharmed. She flashed yet another toothy grin towards the horse, her tail swishing behind her almost in sync with her wing beats.

Strange that a creature so filled with fright and a blinding devotion to survival would feel afraid for something else. Still, when the tiny ... fluff thing ... started to fall down the front of the ruined building as if in a free fall, a tiny guttural whicker bubbled up through her throat and she took two halting steps forward. "Oh noes."

Like her other friend, the feather thing stretched out their feather legs and started to drift gently in May's direction. Nervous that it would attempt to land on the bump between her ears like Eve had, she tucked her over sized ears back against her head and shook it preemptively. Luckily, the tiny noodle had no such intentions in mind and touched down awkwardly - giving May this disjointed memory of her first attempt at standing, although things were obviously not the same. She didn't come floating in the air. Her feet were solidly on the ground, exactly where they belonged. Belatedly it occurs to her to ask if the thing was okay, but she decides not to. It didn't look like it hurt.

When at last the little creature managed to come close enough to talk, May studied her for a moment, waiting for her to talk. When nothing was forthcoming, May's ears flicked forward and back again and she eyed the tiny creature awkwardly. Too nervous to let the silence drift on for too long though, she attempted to say her name, having learned the difference of Imeve and Eve from her friend, if not so much the accompanying syntax. "I'm Maeve. You I'm?"

@Ashtoreth

The horse seemed just as nice as her other friend, and immediately she felt a strong fondness for the tall beast with sharp hooves. While the larger gembound was timid and afraid, the tiny furry noodle was filled only with curiosity and excitement. Considering the horse didn't approach, she simply held her ground, wriggling in her fur.

When Maeve introduced herself, the bundle of fur and feathers blinked. She opened her mouth, lifting a paw to shove in her jaws, and coughed slightly. Even if she wanted to give out her name, she wasn't exactly the talkative sort. She put her paw down and hung her head, ears laying back against her feathery orange scruff, eyes staring up at her new friend in absolute silence.

After about a moment of pitiful staring, the energy seemed to build back up in her and the act was dropped. In fact, it was as if she simply decided to change the conversation topic. She finally bounded over to the equine's hooves, wings flapping and body wiggling. She wanted to dance around the horse, and maybe even go for a ride-- but she wasn't so rude as to just clamber up without permission. She flapped her wings around, kicking up dust and scattering pebbles around with little pitter-pattering, clicking and clattering noises.

Silence greeted her introduction. And although May couldn't help but smile as the fluff thing chewed on her own pay, she felt a bit uncomfortable. This was even more amplified when the creature adopted what was, to this point in May's life, the saddest expression she'd ever seen. What was she supposed to do?

Still nothing. Slightly daunted by the unending silence, the filly dropped her gaze to look awkwardly over at the ruins. Her attention snapped back abruptly when it began to bound toward her - tail, wings, and pebbles everywhere. With a soft, breathy squeal she shied away, but seemed to absorb the realization that it was only play halfway through and upon landing, bounced back into a half rear and pivoted toward the fluff thing. But she was careful, not wanting to hurt her new friend who was so very much smaller than herself.

As if realizing the size difference anew, she danced in place rather than swinging her hooves about and tossed her head about as if in invitation. She hadn't had a proper chance to play and it felt quite good to be moving, allowing her to forget, for one precious moment, that she was alone in a strange cave, with a stranger.

@Ashtoreth

Feel free to have her try and climb up :3

Immediately as she bounded forward, the mare was struck by the same urge to move and bounce. If Ash could pick any sound to make in that moment, if she could make a noise, she would whinny for sure; a loud, clear trill. As it was, she had to make do with scattering pebbles and clicking her claws on the rocky floor. Still, she threw her head back, jaws parting in silent laughter, prancing around the horse as she danced in place.

She tried to summon up the wind once more, her heart fluttering with joy as she slid to a stop, keen eyes watching that swaying mane. She bunched up her muscles, tail swishing, and with a great flap of her wings she made a jump at the equine. The wind seemed to pick up once more under her feathers, but her weight was too strong, to suddenly. She didn't land precisely on the back of the horse as she intended, but instead fell short.

Together the thud of her little hooves and her companion's pebbles made a merry background beat as they both pranced about. Lost in the moment, May tossed her head about, sending the wispy tendrils of her mane to flutter in her self created breeze. Rather suddenly movement caught the corner of her eye, as it would any prey animal, and she saw but did not immediately comprehend that it was her new friend leaping into the air in her direction. She didn't flee as instincts demanded, if only because it wasn't the first time something with feathers had attempted to perch upon her but she did shy back slightly.

This small shift seemed to keep the mute fur-fluff-thing from landing safely onto the narrow wedge of her back, instead, leaving her to dangle off her shoulder, tiny paws slipping through her practically non-existent mane. Very clearly she remembered the disgruntled look she'd gotten before for shaking someone off, and coupled with the warm spirit of play, decided to try and help, aiming to shift Ashtoreth the rest of the way up with a bump of her muzzle.

@Ashtoreth

The tiny noodle struggled to scramble the rest of the way up without digging her claws into the horse's hide, but much to her relief the new friend bumped her up with a snout, and finally she was perched up on the pony just like she had done with her other friend. Maeve, however, didn't seem to have much of a mane, which meant less to hold on to. She stretched herself out along the pony's back, wings held out to either side of herself for balance.

She made the tinest squeak of a noise out of a wheeze and grinned hard at the pony, her tail swishing happily behind her. She nosed at the much larger gembound's neck, wondering what kind of fun they would get up to now. She felt quite sturdy now that she was settled, and actually she had plenty of practice of horse riding for being only a few days old. She pawed gently at the sandy, short fur that covered the other gembound, eager to get going wherever they might go.

Or, y'know, if Maeve just wanted to keep dancing while she tried to hold on. Ash was ready for anything!
