((IF BRIAR SEES THIS – THIS IS SET BEFORE THEY MET, SO DON’T ACT LIKE YOU KNOW MACAWI))
Macawi had absolutely, positively no idea what was going on in Polaris when she stumbled in happily. All she knew was that it was dark in here, and she loved the dark! She wagged her tail happily as she pranced about, sniffing for others. There were a lot of others. Oh, good! She liked others! She tried not to stumble into anything as she found a seat, and she partially succeeded. While she didn’t hit anything that could talk, she did trip over a relatively large rock, and tumbled head over heels until she landed with an “Oof!” on her back. She laughed, unharmed, and amused at herself.
‘Trick or treat?’ came a jaunty, feminine voice from somewhere above her. She squinted in the darkness, and saw a little light somewhere. In the ceiling? She shrugged, not caring where it came from. She laughed like she was insane, snorting half the time, and shouted back to the voice, “Trick! Where is the fun in treats? They are so predictable!” Macawi was a prankster. What could anyone expect? She lived for the unexpected, the daring!
She continued to lay on her back, trusting, perhaps a bit stupidly, that no one would step on her in the darkness. Her tan eyes would twinkle if there were more light, and if anyone could see in such darkness, they would notice the mischievous grin plastered on her silly-happy face.
