DOVEFEATHER
this old mirror it is broken, there's too much drift in the dam
The moist, dark soil of Eridanus was stained and marked by small, insignificant pawprints. Through the trench, a muffled whisper of a hum, like hundreds of bees swarming, echoed down. Prey scattered and hid, though the tiny feline wasn't in the mood for hunting.
The cat of greys and whites was feeling particularly lonely, her once long tail now maimed into an inch long stub that twitched back and forth. She had chewed it off a few days ago in a fever-fueled sickness... But even still, the Eyes did not return. Giggle had not returned. Her sisters, missing or perhaps busy figuring out how to save the All Mother.
Whatever the case, the wild jungle of Eridanus never felt more empty to her. It was a surprise that she was still purring, perhaps even stronger than ever, but it was the only sound that could comfort her.
There was just one thing in her life that made her heart skip a beat-- but it was a dangerous, foolish thing. One that in her hearts of hearts she knew she couldn't dwell on. Her role was too important, too great, to be lost on a longing for companionship in another single creature.
She was starting to loathe the lack of direction in her life. She felt... Lost.
Her voice grew out of the humming purr, her eyes cast upwards towards the birds fluttering through the trees. A cloudiness filled her pale eyes and she blinked hard, shaking her head. The All Mother wouldn't... couldn't... give her a sign now, could she?
