Again and again she made her plants sprout, carefully conservative with her magic this time. She wouldn't make them grow too much, just enough to start. For now, that was enough. She could always come back and keep giving her energy to the plants she needed so it could grow more mature.
She glanced back to the fence and the little gate she had made. Some grass sprouted there, tall and strong, snd since she was feeling better, she waved her hand at the grass, asking it to twist and form a specific shape for her.
The grass responded, if slowly, and weaved its way into a braided archway that rose over her head. She smiled. Maybe later she could make it stronger and weave some blooming flowers into it. But that would be for later.
She turned back to her garden, smiling and humming to herself, feeling much more at ease with her magic now than when she had started all of this.
She turned away from the new archway and looked at one of the newer plants she'd planted and sprouted, one she wasn't sure of. It was one of the plants she wanted to experiment with, to figure out its uses, because it gave strange symptoms that she had yet to figure out. It was a very pale green with long finger-like leaves, and it gave off light purple flowers. When she had eaten some of the flowers along with the yellow ones over in the corner, her fresh cuts suddenly started bleeding, but alone it seemed to do nothing at all, which boggled her.
She tilted her head and wondered if she could make it grow faster and mature, and she raised her hand over it to ask the sprout to bloom for her, but her finger flashed blindingly and made her stumble back. She looked back to the plant and gasped, "No no no!" and got down on her knees, lifting the baby leaves that had suddenly turned brown.
With a sigh of frustration, she pulled out the plant and set it aside. That was the only seed of it she had, too. She'd have to go back to Eridanus and get another one.
She sighed, looking over the rest of the sprouts. She could practice with her red-leaved plants, since she had a lot of them, and make them loom....she only really needed one right now. She bit her lip. Should she...?
She shrugged. She had to gain control of her magic, had to get better at it - any patients she could come across could very well need her to be good with her magic, could need her to weave their skin together, could need her to patch up exposed organs! It could happen! She saw the giant Vazi's antlers, and very well believed that they could rend flesh very easily. Not that the giant would do that, but....he could. It was possible.
So she looked at the red sprout and waved her hand over it, seeing what would happen.
As she watched, the red leaves slowly unfurled, answering her call, and she smiled. It grew and grew, delivering these beautiful little blossoms, and she laughed, feeling the energy suddenly leave her in a flash. She wavered on her feet and shook her head, deciding that this was enough magic slinging for now.
"Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play"
Woo! Today's been a lovely day, nice and productive. He'd been in Eridanus the entire time cataloging and drawing in his book. Not only that but after he'd had his fill of drawing he started using clay and his magic to bake one of the mug things that he'd seen Booker with. The numbat had been cooking some sort of sweet smelling beverage in his cup so why couldn't he? Tennessee spent all day trying to get the mugs made just right and though they were a bit lumpy they served the purpose of holding water. After he'd gotten the water and searched around for leaves and something else for flavor. The lemur ended up locating some tea leaves which he threw into the water. Satisfied the lemur held both cups and focused on his magick which then started to boil the water and consequently the leaves. The water turned into a brownish liquid that smelled quite nice. The lemur could feel his mouth starting to water but he held in the urge to to drink the stuff. Instead he took a sapling sip and decided that he should add something for sweetness.
He set both the mugs down and found a nearby iceberry bush which he plucked a few berries from and squeezed the juice into the tea. Next, on a whim, he scaled a tree then plucked a few bananas which he held in his tail and then and only then was he satisfied. Now he carefully made his way back to Polaris with the mugs, the bananas, and his rat behind him. They would have a nice old picnic back at the base!
-----
When he finally reached Polaris, to say that he was shocked would be an understatement. He was downright in awe at what Cayenne had done! Where there had once been barren land was a blossoming field of flowers and even a new fence for keeping in cave deer. The gal had outdone herself! The bananas fell to the ground as he stood, mouth agape. For a clear minute he could say nothing and finally he shook his head and said, "Miss Cayenne, you are a miracle worker! Lookit all this! It's incredible! Why, you deserve all this an' more!" The lemur walked over to his partner and handed her one of the mugs while he went back to gather the bananas. "Take yerself a nice rest an' a snack an' a drink. You deserve it, darlin'." He handed her a banana before taking his own seat next to her and sipping his own mug.

Cayenne was wavering to her feet, tiredness crashing over her in waves, wrapping her in a warm embrace, beckoning her to sleep, and she had already sat down on the nearest long, flat rock when she heard Tenn's voice. She lifted her head with a very wide and sleepy smile, her eyes half-closed, chuckling when she took him his looks of awe at the things she'd done today.
He complimented her and gave her something nice and warm to drink along with a banana, and she sighed happily, sipping the tea slowly, enjoying the sweet earthy taste roll over her tongue. With her second sip she already decided that this was her favorite thing to drink next to water. When he sat down next to her on the rock, she leaned her head on his shoulder. "It was really tiring," She murmured, "and I messed up a lot...but.."
"Thank you, Tenn," She looked at him with a very tired smile. "Both...for the compliments and the..." She yawned, her eyes falling shut. "...tea...."
After she had consumed most of the tea, she set down the nice mug down on the ground, then decided she would sleep now, and she shuffled on the rock so that her head lay comfortably over Tenn's legs, and she shut her eyes sighing, feeling peaceful and sanguine.
"Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play"
There it was, just a strong as when he first met her. That rush of heat in his cheeks and those butterflies in his belly returned when Cayenne leaned against him with her head on his shoulder. He held the mug in one hand while he wrapped his other around Cayenne's arm and held her. It was one of the best experiences of his life. He stared at the fence and the beautiful garden that Cayenne had created and knew now more than ever that this task was within reach and not too far away. "'A course, anytime, darlin'." He looked down and smiled right at her.
Tennessee drank the tea next to her and before long he'd finished it all off. He set his mug on the ground as well and when the dark she-lemur laid her head in his lap he started to stroke her side, tentatively at first but then more confidently as he watched her start to fall asleep. Then, on an impulse after she'd fallen asleep he planted a sanguine kiss on her dark cheek. He then blushed, though thankfully it was hidden due to his thick fur, and leaned back up feeling quite nervous and giddy. Why had he done that? Oh dear... He hoped she had been fallen asleep or else he'd surely die of embarrassment.
