She wasn't sure how long she had been here now, nestled among branches and leaves in Eridanus. She wasn't too well camouflaged, but hell - it would do. She didn't mind remaining around this place either; while Adeyemi seemed to hate this room with a passion, Willow held some sort of nostalgia for it. Perhaps she'd be questioned for it.
The owl shifted along the branch she was perched on. She felt at peace, hidden away in the trees - but she always felt safer when she was fairly sure that no one could spot her straight away. But now, after a long time of remaining in the same place, she felt the need to check her surroundings. She hobbled along the branch before she came to a clearing among the leaves, looking down at the maw of moss below.
Nothing had changed. It didn't surprise her. Why would anything change, after all?
With a whistling sigh escaping her beak the owl stretched her wings out briefly before she tucked them away again. She was content, despite the feeling of hunger festering within her. From somewhere out the corner of her eye, she took note of a mango hanging on a branch.
She tilted her head. She shifted and she reached out, and bit down on the mango. The sweet juices blasted out into and onto her beak - which honestly, she didn't mind at first - but she did not swallow the piece of fruit she had in her mouth. She quite simply spat it back out, feathers ruffling.
That was a horrible idea, she thought to herself as she raised a wing to rub her beak.

King Adeyemi
AND THEN THE EARTH AND THE SKY, THEY ALL FIT TOGETHER
AND CARRY ME AWAY AS LIGHT AS A FEATHER

Adeyemi had flitted through the trees for days, weeks, driven by an itch under his skin that refused to go away. His son had grown big and strong, obvious in his royal upbringing, and it made the tiny king puff up his chest further as he hopped from branch to branch, carrying leaves and bits of soft scraps from around the forest. Ideally, he'd have settled down in somewhere less... Eridanus... but he had a duty to Alexander to always be near. The lion's ruthless bloodlust was... concerning.
The turaco shimmied down the trunk of the tree he'd perched in, hopping towards his chosen spot - a vaguely nest-shaped pile of soft things, almost completely hidden, enclosed by berry bushes. With a satisfied sigh, he nestled his latest find in the center of the nest, the shiny feather from something much bigger than he glimmering in the midst of twigs and down. With a great stretch, the bird let out a yawn, blinking sleepy eyes and hopping back out into the light, strutting about his tiny territory. The clearing outside of the nest wasn't exactly near any mango trees, but half the fun of hunting was finding.
The itch was back, and Adeyemi began to hum, clicking his beak in time with the notes, slowly building to a series of melodic calls. The whole show might have been very graceful indeed, a kind of sombre march - but the tune quickly swung into high gear, and the king along with it, shimmying and hopping about, feathers glinting in the dim light of the forest floor, wings fanning out in brilliant displays of red, blue and green.
The steps seemed to move like waves, making Adeyemi bob up and down, talons dragging through the dirt in circles and creating designs carved into the ground like a declaration.
A soft hiss of burning, and flames licked at his feet, scorching new details over the old designs, forming a pattern unique to the... dance? Performance? Whatever the king was doing, singing to himself and generally looking like a lovesick fool.

"I've just seen a face
I can't forget the time or place
Where we just meet
She's just the girl for me
And want all the world to see
We've met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m'mmm-mmm~"

"Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
And I'd have never been aware
But as it is I'll dream of her
Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di..."

"Falling, yes I am falling
And she keeps calling
Me back again!"
And she keeps calling
Me back again!"
