"Yeh! We promise, Papa!" She said happily, butting her head against Papa's leg to seal the promise. It was a no brainer of course, they would always listen to Papa because Papa knew best! She laughed and giggled when Big Brutus asked them to play and she nodded at him over-enthusiastically, then she looked up to Papa.

"Can we play? P' please? P' p' p' please?" She asked, her eyes glittering with happiness.

And when Papa gave his permission, she squeeled and ran off down the steps, calling for Nettle and Brutus to follow her so that they could play.

[exit Feverfew]

Nettle just sighed as his sister ran off with Brutus, smiling wistfully as she crashed down the stairs with her endless energy and happiness a jewel on the ground, mimicking the glistening stars in the sky.

He just looked up at Papa and, very very quietly, he said, solemnly, "I promise."

Then he got up slowly, his hips aching in protest, and waddled off after his siblings.

The hart smiled and nodded his head. He'd gotten what he wanted, their undying loyalty and he was pleased. "Yes, go play, my children. I'll be near the throne if you need me." And then he left, his great antlers cutting through the air as he wandered away to go graze near his favorite place while the laughter of his children beset his ears.
