{ Getting a feel for Ambrus again }

With each beat of the eagle's wings, he rose in altitude. Azurite lenses scanned the land below, attempting to allow his web of vision to seep into the thick foliage. He was searching for anyone really, having just reappearing after some time of keeping to the shadows. Ambrus was now surged with the need to ruin someone, and if not ruin, well then he'd just have to do with playing around a bit. With a scoop of the body and fluctuation of his wings, the fully grown eagle soared lower toward the tree tops. Now lower, it should be easier to observe, though his vision was hardly rivaled.

After some time of his flight and seeing nothing to appease his boredom, he swooped in on a high tree branch. Long talons snatched about the bark angrily, shards of wood falling from his grip as he tucked his no longer useless wings into his body. The flash of a rat's body scurried by, but he wanted something more. Something far more delectable. He'd have to wait, train his patience once again, within the confines of the high trees, with thick cover, he was well hidden. Silence overwhelmed him, and as Ambrus hunkered down, a sly smile spread upon his beak, angry eyes slowly scanning the terrain.

Aragorn had slowly become aware of the eagle overhead and knew that were they to engage in a fight, he would not emerge the victor, yet he would not back down either, but knew there was no sense in picking a fight.

The young black wolf, a traveler amidst the shadows retreated into the inky depths, his jet black fur blending in, so at once where he once stood, now stood only the scent of his passage.

He was silent as he traversed the shadows, becoming accustomed to the silence, finding comfort in the calm, though as of that moment, he was more aware of everything around him than anything else. A cub like him would be an easy kill for a full grown eagle, and he had no intention of becoming anything's evening meal.

Oh, a morsel among the shadows? The eagle's keen eye caught the rustle of shrubbery, the scent of a canine. But he was hard to pin point, ambrus would need to lower to investigate. The sly smile only widening, the large bird of prey expanded his impressive wing span, beating them a few times to lower himself with immaculate grace and elegance. He landed upon a low branch, talons clicking against the thick wood as he inched to the edge of it. The limb whining at the bird's weight.

He spoke in the general direction of the morsel's trek, taking the chance at speaking to only soulless shadows.
"oh wont you come say hello? I'd hate to see how slow you become if I constrict that juicy heart of yours."
And while vocals were calmed, collected, moderate and inviting, a promising threat lay far beneath the undertones. Azurite lenses flashed with a growing curiosity, a building playful attitude. Dangerous in all senses, the predatory eagle kept silence there after, allowing the morsel generous chance and patience.

whats this? a ghanyarah post? IMPOSSIBRU!!

Slowly, Ghanyarah had made it a regular habit to travel between Cetus and Eridanus. Cetus was his home, undeniably; it always would be, especially as the localized center of the Children of Rot's devices, but eventually Ghanyarah had to expand his horizons. He'd visited Eridanus a few times before, mostly on investigative trips to the Eyes, but those had often been interrupted by curious other Gembounds who intervened in his quiet exploration. That, or he had come looking for Gracie. One or two times before he managed to find her, but her presence had grown scarce and where he had usually found her munching happily on stalks of bamboo, the annoying plant had come overgrown, bountiful in her absence. Where the vegetation blossomed, his heart had shrunken.

He had Netil to look after, but the strange hybrid was pretty independent. The girthy reptile was always eating, and when Ghanyarah found himself exhausted of his attempts to constantly keep Netil fed, he'd find that his son would wander away in search of food for himself. Ghanyarah gradually came to accept his wandering, hoping that he'd get a chance to see Netil returning to the tree - Ghanyarah's tree, the tree that the komodo dragon had been fool to think would become a home for their two-reptile family, the tree that had once been the sole location of all his prized possessions, now but a mere reference point. Still, the presence of his brother Dragon had been a constant, as had the other Children of Rot. Tal'at and Czernobog were always keeping busy with their garden, Dragon always seemed to be obsessing over Aquarian and immortality, and Eve was usually quite involved in being whoever was available at the times' hat.

That just left Ghanyarah and his idle purpose. He was supposed to be a protector, or a warrior, or an enforcer. Either way, he was a hand of force. Something to be reckoned with. He had delighted in training with Dragon, but over time even that had grown dry. He needed something new. So, off to Eridanus it was to see what new affairs he could dig up. Maybe he'd find Gracie again, or maybe Temoria, or maybe he'd even run into Arkrael; hell, even that fire wolf, Aleera, would make acceptable company. At this point, the lonely reptile wasn't going to be picky about who he shared company with.

He waddled among the trees, taking slow, calculated steps. The humid air was ambrosia on his skin, a stasis of perpetual hydration as water collected on his scales and slowly dripped to the loam below. His pink eyes were ever wary, his long, hefty tail dragging lazily behind, until he had caught the tail-end of a threat on the wind. Ghanyarah froze, listening; then he lifted his head and flicked his tongue. In among the stench of petrichor he dredged up the nitrogenous smell of a bird, acceptable; and one of a canine, but not Arkrael or Temoria; gross. Even after all this time, he couldn't deny that he was something of an elitist. Ghanyarah settled, grounding himself, but he was curious. And wouldn't it be so much easier to observe where they couldn't see? ...Or maybe he was just in the mood for mischief.

In his advance, the water began to rapidly evaporate from his hide. Tiny droplets suspended in the air had begun to condense, and before long, the thin strands of mist began to rise as though clawing their way up from the soil. It wasn't thick enough to hide him entirely but, lingering still a few trees behind, he hoped that the pair wouldn't notice him quite yet. He cracked open a devious grin and settled his fat belly in the dirt, listening.

Aragorn saw the eagle and knew that he would he be killed should he venture too close, though the great raptor was also at a disadvantage as in the air he was king, but on the ground he was prey.

"Why would one such as yourself wish to parlay with someone such as I? Surely you a king of skies does not wish to dawdle with the likes of I?" he called from the shadows. Aragorn was young so it sounded a bit sarcastic but he was not stupid, nor was he unaware of the great reptile approaching.

He needed to leave but doing so would not be easy, and these creatures had far more experience than he did.

the pup spoke, ambrus's head cocked to the side. he scoffed promptly after the pooch had finished speaking, a flap of his no longer useless wings gave a beat of air just before a strange mist came falling down upon them. ambrus froze, listening for a moment, his skull darting a bout as azurite lenses scanned the area he could from where he was perched. the fog made it difficult to see, but in his experience, he'd know this may be a trick of magic. but he couldn't be sure, as nothing appeared nor spoke. so he returned his attention to the little pup, where a sly smirk spread wide again.
"you speak as though you've known life for longer than what...a cycle? perhaps two?"
a throaty, chirpy chortle escaped the predator, remaining perched upon this lower branch.
"i could squeeze the life from you in an instant. whether it be with magic, or with my talons. perhaps i'll keep you alive while i feast."
just then, a leg raised. impressive talons clicked against one another as he flexed the limb, before letting the weaponry fall to grasp the wood relentlessly once again.
"it all depends on how i'm feeling, to tell you the truth, little man. it also depends on that mouth of yours. I'll be sure to devour that first."
and the tongue.
all the while, the eagle hadn't a clue to the dragon's presence. a few inclinations may have enlightened him, though he couldn't be for sure, and he'd rather not assume. his gaze took another survey of the now misted area, wondering if perhaps the pooch's magic was this. thankfully, the large bird of prey remained within the tree's confines.

From what he could gather, one was antagonizing the other. Through the mist, Ghanyarah couldn't quite make out their details. They looked like shadows from here - one of them really was immersed in the darkness, the other lodged somewhere out of sight. Ghanyarah raised his head and tried to isolate them from the fog, but to no avail - they were fairly well hidden among the white tendrils, and all he could do was eavesdrop on their conversation. One was a young fool. The other was slick with poison. Threatening, but maybe arrogant. Ghanyarah knew arrogance where he heard it. His long tail twitched behind him, thinking, considering. He didn't know what kind of danger he could get himself into interfering with the antics of the unknown. He could be injured. His son abandoned, left to the wayside if Ghanyarah never returned.

And yet, his curiosity was overwhelming. He was amused. And maybe, just maybe, he was a little restless. The komodo dragon held back and latched onto the feel of the water suspended in the air, if he could just maneuver it right...

But as soon as he had grasped it, the slippery sensation of the water molecules escaped him. What was tactile was now too svelte for him to harness. Ghanyarah quietly grunted - perhaps his formation of the mist enclosing them had been too successful. It was too powerful, or too insistent. It didn't matter. The lizard raised his head and parted the bushes, fingers of mist rolling off of him as he moved into view. "What a bore-fest!" He feigned a yawn, staring into the clearing down his paddle snout. "You know what would solve this, if I just ate you both." Ghanyarah said idly and clipped his teeth together in a mischievous grin.

Aragorn felt fear prickle at him and quashed down the feeling, they would be able to sense fear, and he needed his wits about him, if he was going to survive the mess he had managed to get himself into.

He heard another voice and sniffed the air picking up the scent of something cold that reminded him of death, a reptile. He felt his fur begin to stand on end.
