The spire loomed nearby. Lux didn’t approach it too closely, but instead stared at it from a distance with slight awe, letting the strange power that seemed to radiate from the crystals fill her body. Her heart was thumping heavily in her chest from the power, making her feel almost like she was running will all her strength even though she laid still on the ground. It was almost exhausting in a way, but addicting in others. No wonder Tennessee had decided to make a home so close to this place. On the ground, in between her two paws, the heavy gem collar now rested. She’d slipped it off her neck, the muscles screaming with thankfulness to be relieved of the heavy burden. Lux knew vaguely what she was supposed to do – how she could stop having to carry it around at all. She just wasn’t sure if she was ready for that. |
