ORIGIN - silent night

Ghost didnt know how long he had been walking. He traveled from polaris to here with little sleep, if any really at all. He was exhausted now, though, his body dragging itself until he found a safe place to bunker down for the night or time being. After the fight with the boulder after the encounter with the rude bird, he felt so tired but didnt feel comfortable sleeping somewhere he couldnt hide. He stumbled a lot, but felt a sense of relief when he walked in to the quiet orion. It was cold though, but better than nothing.

He didnt want to spend too long looking for a place to rest, so he followed the wall until he could feel that he was in a corner of the room, hopefully out of sight. Just in case, ghost attempted to send out a warning.

stay away! crap, it didnt work! Instead of sounding like a whisper across the room, he practically yelled it!

Lichen had been attempting to sleep. She felt her snout under her tail as she coiled up against a ruined structure. No doubt Eko was somewhere near by; possibly sleeping too. Her eyelids slowly lifted over her gemstone eyes as she caught up on a yell, declaring that - presumably her - should stay away.

And so the dragon clambered up to her claws anyway, feelers extending as she began to make her way towards the source of the sound. She couldn't see - there was only an eternal darkness. When she concentrated particularly hard however, she could hear the faint heartbeat - one behind her, and one in front of her. She knew the one behind her belonged to Eko, but the one in front of her was a new one.

So she continued towards it, shimmering whiskers extending out and touching the walls, until she came to somewhere where on both sides, they touched a wall and the heartbeat was under her. She angled her snout down towards it, eyelids falling and rising in front of her 'eyes.'

"Hello?" came the rasping voice.

He really hoped there wasnt anyone else in here. He heard movement, though, shortly after he called out. The sound kept getting closer and closer until it was right in front of him, or rather, right above him. He cowered under the creature, his body shaking and shivering with nerves. This creature sounded large and was potentially dangerous, however the scent of a newer gembound flooded his nostrils. This was a relatively new gembound, he decided, but that didnt mean it couldnt be volatile. Could the creature even see him?

A small whine slipped through his pink lips and he mentally bit himself for it. He was just a lump of failures today and he would certainly die, he just knew it. Hopefully, though, this was just a bad dream. Certianly didnt feel like one, though. All he could hope for was that this creature was friendly... Just large. Like baratheon! Hopefully this creature was like baratheon - harmless.

The dragon remained, watching with gemstone eyes in silence. Perhaps the thing was underground, it made no attempt to reply to her despite her calling out to it. She continued staring - if it wasn't another thing like her or her sister, then it was food for her and her sister.

Lichen felt her jaws open and her tongue loll out to lick her scaley jowls; the appendage extending out her maw glowing a soft green light onto the black scales around her mouth. She leaned down at the sound of a whine, whiskers extending to rather delicately touch Ghost's back.

It was soft, although rather ragged. She breathed in the scent of dust and cave-smell that came from the thing under her nose, mouth remaining open to taste the scent, earthy tones filling her mouth. She closed her mouth, perhaps decidedly.

She pulled away and she tilted her head. The heartbeat continued. She rather more abruptly decided to flop down with her head angled to the sound of the heartbeat, breathing out hot air from her nose that hit one of Ghost's forelegs.

Despite his choice to lay perfectly still without making a sound, the creature remained over him, unmoving. He would feel then something graze his back. A tongue, but he wasnt sure exactly. After a few more moments, he heard the beast relax and ghost moved to turn towards it, hoping it wasnt preparing for a meal.

please dont eat me... he whispered, hoping the creature would feel some pity for him, or at least not be hungry.

She paused. She exhaled, burning hot air hitting against Ghost's fur. She shifted, scales sliding across the stone floor as she angled her head at the heartbeat, silent for a moment before her jaws slowly opened in consideration.

"No," the dragon murmured as she settled her head back down, tail lashing back and forth as she allowed the silence to fill the air again. Her nostrils flared quietly as she shifted closer towards Ghost, tongue flickering out briefly.

A single word came from the beast and thankfully it wasnt anything other than what it was. A sinple comfirmation that they didnt plan on eating him. That was good, but the beast could be knavish and just wait until he was unsuspecting. For that reason, ghost kept his guard up.

then what do you want from me? he whined, hoping the beast wasnt going to toy with him instead. Hed rather be eaten than made a toy.
