ORIGIN - Charge Full Speed!

OOC -- this is AW, though I will be posting in it in the meantime. Feel free to join regardless of how many posts I've already done. However, for this first one, I'm requesting a GM to play the deer, so if you wanna join, hold off til a GM posts back.

Raziel found himself in the glittering desolate city of Orion, but he wasn’t paying any attention to its beauty. After all that sh*t he had to go through just to be born, he was extremely hungry. And he’d been smelling meat for the last ten minutes. Now the creature was maybe twenty feet away. It was a giant cave deer – a Tunnel Runner – though he didn’t have a clue that any of these things had names. All he cared about was eating it. His small black eyes stared at the creature for a few more seconds, before he charged full speed at it with long, lumbering strides. He intended to reach up and grab onto it before it could bolt, but considering his previous luck, it would probably run away before he ever got near it…

The Tunnel Runner is alone, though this is not unusual for its species. Its long ears prick as it hears Raziel lunge forth from the shadows, pebbles kicking away under his paws. The attack is clumsy, but the prey doesn't bolt in time to avoid injury. Raziel is able to strike at its leg before the deer kicks and darts just out of reach.

The lesser gembound turns, dark eyes meeting the carnivores' own. This cave deer sports a pair of long, sharp teeth and a single, dark horn on its head. Despite its injury, it does not attempt to flee, instead lowering its head, ready for a fight with the younger gembound.

Lichen was pretty big despite being a newborn; with her sister on her face she had managed to clamber up onto an abandoned, empty structure of a building. On the roof of the structure, Lichen herself had sprawled out on it, tail flickering back and forth with her wings extended out. She wasn't asleep, nor had she even been napping, just lazing around on the roof.

Eko was surely somewhere near by, though she hadn't make the attempt to listen out for her sister's heartbeat - but the sound of conflict reached her ears. Slowly, lazily, the dragon lifted her head, listening out quietly. No matter how hard she concentrated, she still couldn't hear the heartbeats - not only Eko's, but the things that were fighting.

She grunted briefly to grab her sister's attention. "What's that?" she asked, coiling herself up on the high structure.

The cave deer did end up hearing him coming. Shit! Just as Raz reached up to grab hold of a leg or something, the Tunnel Runner bolted, and kicked out at the same time. The wolverine let out a guttural sound of pain as the thing’s hoof slammed into his right front leg. He immediately brought the throbbing limb close to his body and growled loudly in anger. He expected the deer to keep running, but when it turned to face him Raziel had to admit he felt a little impressed with this creature’s bravery. It did, however, make a potentially grave mistake when it lowered its head. Without thinking, Raziel’s left paw struck out, aiming for its face. He hoped his Magic wouldn’t fail him like it had so many times in a row back when he was hatching.

As of that moment, he had absolutely no idea that he had a potential audience…

Eko sat on one of Lichen's haunches, idly watching the dragon's tail swish back and forth, the glowing markings making light trails in the dim glow of Orion. It was kind of fascinating, in the same way dust fairies and the quartz crystals on the ceiling were. Still, the colugo was slowly but surely growing incredibly bored, tapping her strange, oblong paws along black scales aimlessly. Thankfully, Lichen grabbed her attention with a grunt, and Eko scurried up her sister's neck to rest on her snout.

The question made her focus, staring down at the ground of Orion with her usual disdain. The fight made her grin, clapping her hands together in excitement, a back paw reaching out to tug on one of the dragon's feelers gently, as if to direct her attention down and to the side. "Ooh, it's totally a fight! Some weirdo is trying to hurt one of the deer," she exclaimed, eyes wide and focused on the attack, giving the dragon a play-by-play.

One would be forgiven for confusing her with a sports announcer, really.

"Okay, so there's this deer, one of those big ones with the teeth? And this little weird guy just tried to tackle it, but the deer totally just turned around and kicked him. Now the angry dude is growling and trying to hit it again. He seems like kind of a dick, so we should probably stay up here where we're not the meal."

The dragon was quiet for a moment, her head moving rather obediently down despite not being able to see, but regardless her empty gemstone eyes stared directly at the fight. "A fight?" she said, blinking. "Well, who's winning?"

She leaned in a little more, concentrating. Before her eyes, pieces of tiny bacteria propped up around the room. She could see the steep, 90 degree angle of the side of the building she and Eko lay on, and she could see the bacteria-ridden figures of the deer and the wolverine.

She had her sister commentating on the whole fight, too - and with a slight nod she up righted herself to lay on her belly, leaning on her front claws she began cheering, "Yeah! Go do it! Kick his ass!" It wasn't entirely clear who she was cheering on, but cheering on was exactly what she was doing, tail curling up in excitement.

She then paused, adding much more quietly to her sister: "We can eat him if he dies, right?"

For the moment, the deer does not notice the bystanders. It is just the hunter and the hunted, dueling it out among one another. The wolverine strikes, but misses as the prey rears back. The call of the dragon distracts it for a moment, and there is a hesitance as the deer considers fleeing now that it is out numbered. However, as the others do not interfere, the beast instead tries to come down on the wolverine with its fore hooves.

Raziel gave a low-toned yowl when the deer managed to rear back in time for his paw to miss its face. And his Magic hadn’t even worked! He really was useless! He couldn’t even take down his own prey! Suddenly, the creature seemed hesitant and Raz was about to take the opportunity to head-butt its legs or something, but it lifted up a second later and came crashing down on top of him. He let out a sort of scream as he rolled out of the way. But he felt it stomp down on his tail. Owwww! Fuck! Fucking prey animals and their stupid hooves goddamn it! He rolled back to his paws once the stupid thing got off his tail turned around and charged at it again, attempting to throw it off balance by slamming his opal horns into one of it’s front legs.

Eko seemed to ponder the question, humming and scratching at her tiny chin with a claw, before finally nodding and patting at the snout she perched on. "We can totally eat him. I mean, unless the deer wants to. Or we could share? Deer gets dibs; 's only fair," the colugo explained, grinning as she watched the fight unfold.

"Oooh, it got him good! Stomped his tail flat!" Eko cheered, grabbing onto one of her sister's face-noodles and waving it in excitement. "I think it knows we're here, but heck, I'm betting on it to win," she added with a monotone cackle. "Little dude's fightin' back now - charging it. He has these big horns. Seems like he'd be a bit top heavy," the would-be sports announcer continued, wiggling in place as she relayed the brawl.

"Man, all this needs is a snack, and we'd have dinner and a show!"

The dragon paused. As her sister touched her whiskers she could taste the tiny hands of the colugo. "We'll be eating anyway," she said, but she lowered her snout to touch the flat roof of the building below them.

Tiny, fluorescent mushrooms began to sprout out of the ceiling - perhaps four or five in total. They weren't very big - but for a colugo, it was practically a feast of glowing mushrooms. Lichen lifted her head again, gazing blindly down at the fight. "We can share with the deer. Something tells me the deer isn't fighting for food, anyway."
