Instead of giving Odyssey a response, the pup only stared at his paws. Odyssey narrowed their eyes and shoved their nose in closer, administering a look of curiosity and mild affrontedness, wondering just what was so intriguing about their toes that he had to stare at them instead of looking back up at Odyssey. Even so, no such response was given - no explanation, no excuse, no answer for why they were here. Their fate was ultimately left up to Odyssey and once they realized that, they were satisfied to let the maned wolf pup stare at the ground. For now. Their lips curled into a mischievous smile and a huff escaped their lungs, raising their head higher. "Fine! Leave your fate to the Merrymen! Of which I am one, and I decide... you belong to me now!" The child scoffed, leaning back on their haunches with a wide sweep of their long, stringy tail behind them.
Odyssey then stood up straighter, bouncing forward as they circled the child. "That means I get to name you, too. What kind of a name do you want? Ugly? Poobrain? No, no, it has to be something elegant. That's the way Mother likes them." Odyssey rambled, admittedly swelling with arrogance at this point. But the maned wolf child didn't seem to be resisting, so... "Odyssey, Illiad, that's mine and my brothers' names. Your name is a reflection of your true self, you know. It'll be a reflection of me, too, so it must be beautiful. Odyssey, Illiad, Magdalena, Cassio, Homer... Othello," The child listed off names birthed from the top of their head until finally they had encountered one that tasted sweet on their tongue. At this point, they had rounded back to the boy's front and scrutinized him, searching for some semblance of expression.
"What do you think? You like it? Of course you do. It's a lovely name." Odyssey snirked and turned their shoulder to the boy. "Come along, Othello. I want to show you to Mother!" They instructed and took a bold step forward, only to stop and glance back at him, expecting him to follow.
@Othello
"...the merrymen!" There it was again, the merrymen. What was that? He couldn't begin to understand what that was, but this canine seemed to know. He looked up at the other then, watching them and listening as they spoke, hoping to hear more about this merrymen. His head tilted when he was told that he belonged to them now. He knew very well what that meant, but he wouldn't object. Hanging around them more would only tell him about this merrymen thing he kept mentioning. They seemed smug, however, and he could only roll his eyes.
A name? He hadn't considered naming himself, though what use would it have? If it pleased this canine then, whatever he wanted he supposed. Crude names were the first listed and he narrowed his eyes, obviously disgusted with his choice of names. Elegance sounded better, so he waited to see what else he had to offer while he reclined, his full attention on the other for now. He blurted out names, first his and another's he mentioned as his brothers. Others followed before he finally settled on one. "...othello." A small smile perked the corners of his lip up as the name was spoken. He quite liked the name and gave a slight nod to Odyssey when they asked how he felt about it. They hadn't lied when they answered for him, but he felt like giving the being some kind of answer would play off well, even if it wasn't in the words they seemed to crave so much.
Mother? Othello rose with curiosity, eager to figure out who or what mother was. He loved to learn, and so with the chance of it, he grew excited. His tail wagged at a slight fast pace at his heels and he felt something... something odd. He looked down, feeling the urge to look between his paws again, and there saw a small mushroom, plain white in color. Well, how did that get there? Othello leaned down to sniff it then, wondering what exactly it was.

Odyssey gazed expectantly upon the weird younger canine and was met with a huff of confirmation. The hybrid chuffed in response. So it was Othello! That was a weird kind of magic... But all the more interesting for when Odyssey would show mother.
"Cool." Odyssey grinned and looked between their brother and the canine.
"Come! We must show mother at once! She will be most pleased. I wonder if she has encountered this strange magic before..." The hybrid rambled on, stepping aside. They had wandered close to Iliad, brushing their shoulder in an invitation to join the two of them.
(Exit Odyssey, sorry to cut this short but i just wanted to get it finished)
