She was close. So close to sinking her fangs into the hide of the bitch that dared harm her child. Yet, the ground shook suddenly. Not from her, but from someone else and as the floor ripped apart for gems to ascend from the ground causing Arkrael to skid to a stop. A violent snarl ripped from her chest as she swung her head around. Wide, furious eyes fell upon the creature that dared stand in her way of protecting her child. She faulted as brown fur came into view. Leon. Leon stopped her? No. There was no way he summoned the gems from the earth. He was not an earth wielder. Her gaze moved on, to the creature that was perched upon the bears back and her fur began to bristle as her lips peeled away from her fangs. Where they here to help harm her child? The thoughts raced through her head. She could not imagine Leon doing such a thing, but this cat she did not know.

He would not stop her. He would NOT. If he dared defend a creature that would so willing harm a puppy then they would be punished just as well! Anger gripped at her. Leaving her in an enraged state that blurred and fogged her mind where nothing was discernible aside from her need to protect and defend. The plea from her son fell upon her ears and it seemed as if everything inside of her shattered. A roar spilled from her, one that could easily shake the ground as the opal gem upon her chest suddenly flashed....

...There was no second later for magic to work. It happened instantly. The ground shook and within a matter of seconds an earthshatter ripped through the tunnel, shattering the gems that had previously been summoned by a feline who had thought to thwart her assault. Claws tore across the broke earth as her paws took no hesitant to sprint after the doe who she would refuse to let go. Her mind continued to be fogged and blinded by her rage, nothing she could do would convince herself that perhaps she should just grab her son and go. No. This doe had to pay. Regardless who was here to try and stop her. She would not fail.

Gripping the bear's thick hide, he watched with wide eyes as the cobalt wall burst from the ground and curled around Clover, and she called out to him, begging him to run - and then her voice changed. It had become monstrous. It was warped and twisted and completely unfamiliar to him, like it didn't belong to Clover at all, even though she was still the one speaking. It was dark and saturated with hatred, screeching that she would kill him, him, for what he had done to her - and in that moment, Bartos didn't know if she was speaking of him or of somebody else - Hasira? But it didn't matter. He didn't care what had happened to Clover. It was still her in there somewhere, even if she was hiding in that hollow shell. He had to protect her.

The ground shook and Bartos clung closer to Leon, pressing himself flat against his shoulder blade as the bear struggled to keep his balance. The wolf was charging straight towards Clover, and the wall was breaking down, but Bartos shook his head and stood again. "CLOVER, RUN!" He called and he sent his magic out again, hoping, praying that he was strong enough to stop the wolf from mowing her down.

Beneath her paws, the earth began to break again. Where the crystal wall had previously crumbled, the benitoite coalesced in the dirt and rose as sharp spikes, breaking the earth apart with the intention of stopping her. At the same time, the wall itself returned, and the benitoite struggled to keep itself intact. A curved shield formed in front of Clover and he stared, placing all his focus into the spell, using everything he had to keep her safe. He just hoped that she would run.

All at once, he saw the ground shake and a wall of benitoite burst forward, curling around the doe to protect her from the onslaught of Arkrael's fury. Leon stared wide-eyed at the powerful surge, hearing her voice - suddenly, she was Clover, pearly and beautiful and kind and gentle, crying out for Bartos to run, and then she was darkness again, shrieking that she would destroy him and vying for the destruction of every creature in existence; he could feel it, the darkness exuded from her like a sweeping plague, and he shuddered. But he knew now who she was. He didn't know what became of her, but he knew one thing for certain: he couldn't let her die, not like this. Not under the righteous fury of his canine friend. No matter what had happened, Clover didn't deserve to die in the heat of battle, not when they didn't know what had caused this.

When the earth beneath them rippled, Leon bore down, clenching his jaw as he kept his balance in the earthquake. The benitoite struggled, breaking apart, and then it came together again as Bartos retaliated. It broke the ground, opening up teeth of dark blue that bit at the wolf's paws, intending to stop her. Leon would do his part, snapping his eyes to Arkrael. "Arkrael! Stop! It's Clover!" He shouted, hoping that it would be enough to give pause to her attack. At the very least, he needed her to listen, even if she didn't know who Clover was - even if she didn't care, she had to know that at least they did.

MATURE WARNING FOR LANGUAGE

Belladonna just saw the wolf break the wall and shatter it, and she ran back, shaking her head and laughing with sick, wild abandon. Let the wolf come and get her teeth around her neck! Let her rend her flesh, let her taste Clover's blood - she would drink in as much hatred and grief and regret from everyone involved with this incident and then she would come for Akrael in the dark and take her mind and break it in half.

Go on, I dare you, Belladonna grinned, making eye contact with the wolf with a twisted grin, shadows dripping down her face and her mouth, before the walls came back up again to protect her, stronger than ever. She just laughed and laughed, her whole body shaking in mirth. This was too perfect! Both Leon and Bartos wanted to protect Clover, and by default were aiding the devil. This was just perfect!

When she could speak through the laughter, she said, "How does it feel, Ark, I wonder, to have your friends protect someone who broke your child's leg?" She giggled. "Oh, I'm sorry, I mean, your salvaged brat. You don't have any children yet of of your own, do you?"

"I really do recommend it, it's a wonderful experience! Just ask Vazi." She let that sink in before continuing. "We made a beautiful child, him and I, so much better than anything he might've made with a filthy carnivore bitch like you!"

She laughed, a hysterical sound now, high pitched, tears of glee in her filthy eyes. "Yes, that's right Bartos! Your pretty little wife is a filthy WHORE! This beautiful creature turned around from you and went right to your attacker, your enslaver, and her lips have touched his and we made a child! And he will be wonderful and glorious and beautiful to behold-! How does it feel, Bartos, to protect a slut? What a waste of energy, in my opinion! You should just let us both die!" She wasn't laughing, she was cackling, her head leaning against the wall, and she couldn't see, she was laughing so hard. "And when-and when he begged for it, he kissed our feet and got down on his knees and licked up the very ground we walked on!" She couldn't stop laughing! "What a fucking idiot you fell in love with, Ark!"

And then, and then, when she reached the pinnacle, all the lights went out.

Belladonna reached into herself, into that sea of filth, and from her mouth came a writhing, oil-slick snake of a shadow, so revolting that it made even Belladonna wretch to feel it against her throat, and when it slithered out of her, it stiffened into a long, sharp, spear. She kept it close to her, ready for the wolf to rip out her throat.

She would kill this wolf if even one hair went astray on her head.

His mama couldn't get to him or the doe, the other creatures were blocking him off. Keeping her back. It was obvious that they cared for the dark doe but he didn't know why. Wasn't she evil? Bad? It wasn't for him to decide. Perhaps he was bad in her eyes because of what he'd done to someone so like her. The pup blinked as he watched the scene unfold. Perhaps he would have been content just to watch. Just to see if they would ever let her close to him... but then the doe said terrible things. Terrible awful things about his mother.

Normally Zariel was nigh impossible to offend. He probably was impossible to upset when the things said were talking about himself but when they were things said about his mama... That was when it changed. Mama Arkrael no doubt would be upset by such callous words, callous words that just were not true... Or even if they were, Zariel didn't care.

No one talked about the ones he loved that way. Especially his mama.

Injured as he was and blocked off he could not get to the doe... But he could affect her indirectly. He remembered what he had done with the deer lying on the ground and so he focused his magick. Aiming to stop the doe's heart with his strange electrical impulses.

He couldn't see but it didn't matter... He could feel her heart in the darkness.

She had gotten close again. So close to being able to sink her fangs within that white hide of the doe that had chosen her fate the moment she harmed Arkrael's child. Yet, much to her annoyance the floor began to roll around again. Her breath hitched when large dangerous spikes began to split up from the earth only for an entire shield to curve over where the doe was. An enraged roar spilled from her muzzle once again. All fangs were bare for everyone to see as his pupils finally fell into dangerous slits. She had to stop the gems before they damaged her in their attempt to save the deer. Her gem flashed brightly as she summoned upon it's magic once again...

She heard the feline tell the deer to run and her fur bristled. "NO! YOU FILTHY MONGREL WILL NOT ESCAPE ME!!" Her voice bellowed out, echoing through the tunnel as the ground once again began to shake violently. Once again the gems shattered all around her, the earthquakes wave making it's way towards the shield and shattered it instantly, sending pieces of benitoite gems in all directions. Her paws began to move again, racing along the broken ground and shattered gems. Leon's voice screamed out, filled her ears easily, but it was ignored entirely. How dare they. How dare they! How dare they try to stop her from defending her baby! She did not know Clover. Whether it was their friend or not, it didn't matter. If theey would befriend a creature that would dare harm a child for no reason then they were just as bad.

And then it hit her. Dark laughter that filled the tunnel. It brought her paws skidding to a complete stop. Fur bristled as the doe turned around and stared her in the eyes. She was laughing. Arkrael's jaw clenched tight as her lips peeled back to expose her fangs. Her words met her, spoke darkly of friends who thought to protect someone who had dared hurt her child. There was another giggle and Arkrael snarled loudly, just about ready to respond and defend her child, but the does next words suddenly shook her. Her head jerked back as she pinned her ears back. Vazi's name was brought up and she felt her heart stop beating if only for a moment.

A child. The shock from the news struck Rae hard as she faltered in her footing. "No..." Her voice came, trembling and in denial. She felt something shatter within her chest, felt the nausea rise in her stomach. It seemed Clover's attention had moved away from her and towards the cat. A cat she called Bartos. Her mind was a mess as she tried to process what this thing had spoke to her. Her legs trembled a moment as she felt her eyes begin to burn. The presence of tears began to bead up in the corners of her eyes as her control over emotions long since bottled up tried to rise to the surface.

'Nooooo...' A voice within her mind suddenly snarled loudly within her.

A renewed rage filled her, consumed her easily and once again her fur began to stand on end. There was no more thinking, no more questioning on if she should even bother. She would not listen to anyone trying to stop her. She was filth. Desperate to fill her mind with lies that would stop her in her tracks. If they had a child together so be it. Vazi had chosen his fate. She would end him for the chaos he has ensued upon these caves and she would send this doe back to him in pieces.

Her chest began to rumble lowly at first, slowly growing in size until it was a ground shaking snarl. The darkness consumed the tunnel and Arkrael was left to search the abyss with furious eyes. "Your darkness will not save you...I can smeeeelllll your filth," Her voice came, cackling in response to the doe's own voice in a maniacal tone. She would use this darkness to her advantage. With being able to still smell the bitch easily there was only one thing she needed to do to find her exact location. She would find the doe's gem within the darkness, and she would rip it from the bitches body. Now not even the others could stop her.

OoC: look at all these amazing post rolls! This is such an exciting thread :D Anyways. She will make her attacking move on her next post Kay :O Then you can do what we had planned. :D After that, Madi, you can have leon force Rae to leave.

(actually, i think i'm gonna have them leave, i really hope this doesn't fudge anyone's plans... but i can't see leon sticking around after this happens, and he'd drag bartos away with him)

He stood at the ready, hoping, wishing that Clover would turn and flee. He didn't understand what was happening. Why the white dog was hurt, why the wolf was trying to attack the doe, but worst of all, why Clover had suddenly become dark. Engrossed in dripping shadow, she cackled cruelly, her laughter biting until poison words bled from her lips. He stared with disbelief at her, a creature that he didn't know. A monster. A shadow. A demon.

She admitted to the child she had made with Vazi - Hasira - and turned her wrath to him, and the cat pinned his ears back with eyes wide and fearful. He wanted to tell himself it didn't matter. But she admitted it right there and described every detail with utmost malice and his chest twisted ever more, and his heart screamed and cried, until he found solace in one word. Her. There was a forest around them, and the light that had always guides him was lost in the trees. She was lost in the trees, and he could just barely see the flicker of her light. Who held that light?

"Stop this, Clover!" The cat pleaded. It was still her. But he understood now. "You're wrong, Clover, please-" But it was too late. The lights were snuffed and the ground began to tremble, and bitter hatred seethed from the wolf and the doe alike. Bartos caught his breath, then Leon began to back away. "No- no Leon - we have to protect her - I understand - Leon!" The cat cried, but the bear was already running down the length of the tunnel while the ground broke beneath their feet. They couldn't see but he could still feel her, and she was getting further and further away.

From the quaking earth, where the ground shattered, one final wall of benitoite emerged with a vicious groan. It rebuilt itself in front of Arkrael, and when the lights returned, he hoped that she would see a reflection of herself and the wounded dog in place of his sweet doe.

Leon tightened his lips, an expression like a scowl and a bitter frown. Clover had changed drastically and now she was delivering a wicked laugh and a tattered sentiment, revealing her evil deeds with Hasira. He couldn't understand it either, but this wasn't the doe he knew. This wasn't the same sweet, innocent Clover. Something had twisted her and now he couldn't trust her. His faith lay in Arkrael, and to hear the doe speak so poisonously filled him with anger. Maybe he didn't know her like he thought he did. But then she put out the lights, and Leon's eyes widened in alarm before the ground began to tremble. The bear struggled to keep his balance, but he wasn't going to stick around for whatever happened. She deserved it for what she said to Arkrael, for what she said to Bartos.

The cat desperately tried to tell him to go back, but Leon shook his head; he was done here. She had dug her own grave. "We're leaving. I'm sorry Bartos." The bear rumbled as they went, disappearing into the blackness of the tunnel.

Everyone was speaking, and Belladonna was filled with malicious, euphoric delight - she could taste the fear and the hatred and the pure rage fill the room, and though it wasn't as potent as the fine things she'd tasted with creatures encountered one on one, it had its own heady pleasure all its own. She'd never filled a whole room with her poison before, and instead of a fine meal of ambrosia it was a feast, a feast of blood!

She wanted to laugh in the dark, to mingle with the sick sound of Arkrael's madness and Bartos' screams as he was pulled farther and farther away - and with him, every last vestige of resistance Clover was putting up against her, like arms that suddenly grew slack in holding up a wall. Belladonna pushed her influence and swarmed Clover in in an inferno of her filth, gripping her like a doll, and before she could laugh, her chest suddenly clenched and she couldn't breathe, couldn't breathe at all - she stumbled and gasped, her head swimming, her legs filling with a tingling, warning pain, and in her shuddered thorns of fear in her mind, she realized that the piece of shit was doing the same thing to her that he did to that cave deer, he was trying to kill her.

She clawed at her heart with her magic ineffectively like fingers scrabbling at needed water behind bars, useless, useless, and her shadows couldn't do a damn thing to save her and she was afraid in those breathless moments.

"Your darkness will not save you...I can smeeeelllll your filth," Came Arkrael's maddenly sweet voice, and the magic that held Belladonna's heart faded now with what must've been a lapse of focus on her. She gasped for breath and laughed low, a broken sound. She was free for at least the moment, knowing that, for all the damn dog's power, it was only a child that could easily be distracted by his mother turning into a beast in the dark.

"Come and get me then," She replied to her, her voice husky.

She was ready, and she would take her revenge.
