QUIET - SELF-HATING - SOFT-SPOKEN - QUICK-TEMPERED
This hybrid is a quiet soul, at his core. He has been told by his father since birth that he is worthless and disgusting, and from the very beginning, it has instilled a permanent self-loathing in him that no one can rid him of, not even his loving mother. He hates everything he does and everything he represents, and thinks he is worthy of nothing but the lowest of fates. It doesn't help that he has only his beautiful half-brother to look up to, who is given everything, takes everything, and destroys it.
Because of his brother, he has a very short fuse, and though he will never voice his opposition, for he is taught to never speak out of turn, he will seethe and internalize everything he believes has wronged him, twisting and turning it around and around in his mind till he is boiling with unspoken anger. It goes without saying that this is incredibly unhealthy.
FAIR - PASSIONATE - DEXTEROUS
Because of his mother, he comes into the world with a very fair and open mind, at first, even if his father ruins his self worth. He believes in a sense of justice and some sort of fair world, and if he's taken away from his toxic family, he might well truly believe in an honest and giving world.
Because of his incredibly dexterous hands, he will discover a passion for creation, of writing things he's learned and helping others who have difficulty with such thing. If asked politely and honestly, he will always comply, for if he sees a good character in someone, he will reply in kind. He does not take compliments easily, however, thinking him and everything he makes is garbage. It doesn't stop him from trying, though.

Hawthorne had asked him to make something. The very thought of it made him nervous - what if he messed it up? What if he ended up handing Thorne something messed up and falling apart? No, no, that wouldn't happen, that would never happen, if he made something so terrible, he would just throw it away and say he lost it. He didn't want to be so cowardly about it, but having nothing to give was better than giving his friend garbage.
Thorne wanted him to make a book...and Yarrow was sitting in his little safe haven tucked away in the very corner of Orion, his little workshop that no one knew about, looking at the materials he'd gathered. He had the leather he'd made from cave rats, carefully and immaculately made and brushed out and smoothed till it was one careful piece, and he had the string and the needle that the healer, Cayenne had given him. It took a full week before he'd gathered the courage to ask her for those two things, so worried he'd take away her important healing materials when she needed them - but she just gave him a smirk and handed it over to him, saying she had more tucked away if the situation called for it. But Yarrow knew his teacher was too skilled to even have a use for it. She was amazing, and he was....useless. A waste of space. He was going to ruin this and make a mockery out of everything he'd taken for this opportunity, he just knew it.
But when he picked up the leather and the pages and the needle and thread, his mind quieted, and his hands knew what to do. There was no one to berate him while he worked in sewing the materials together, there was no voice in the back of his head constantly telling him he was worthless. In fact, he was quietly humming to himself as he worked.
And by the end, when he set down the book and dusted his hands on his legs and he saw the neat, even stitches and the strong binding he had made with Cayenne's strong glue-like substance she;d made from her plants....he felt just a little proud of himself. Just a little. Thorne would like this, he thought. He hoped. Maybe.
He picked up the book and clutched it to his chest. He hoped with all his being that Thorne would like it.
