ORIGIN - sellouts

He never wanted to be back in Pisces. He really didnt even know why he was here, but his feet carried him. Having no desire to see Baratheon, Leon, or Makyna again, he was in a really bad place to keep that from happening. Regardless, he found himself at the edge of a pond, lapping carefully at the water.

Ever since swimming with the dragon, Ghost had little fear of water anymore. Of course he was still afraid of falling in, but now it wasn't such a mystery. Pale eyes stared ahead, fixed on nothing really, but appearing as if he was focused on something across the pond.

With her new friend, Baja, safely stowed away amongst her flower lei, the hybrid returned to the waters for a little bit of treasure hunting. There were lots of shards from her chrysalis, which were quickly grabbed and stashed in the nooks and crannies near the falls. There were lots of other treasures to be found, like old and rusty baubles.

As she breached, she found herself staring at the shoreline much like a river crocodile would, with eyes just barely above the water. On the shore, was a tall creature that was white. It looked familiar for just a moment, but it was nothing. Iris noodled closer to the shape and quickly found solid ground to stand on. Lifting her head a little above the water, she smiled and called out, "Hello!"

He was having a peaceful drink while the seamonster spotted him, completely unaware that he was being watched. He hadnt felt any movement in the water that alarmed him, so it was completely reasonable for him to panic the way that he did. Ghost jumped back, ears twitching to locate the seamonster, eyes fixed before him yet wide and scared. His fur stood on end, his legs spread wide as his tail curled up defensively near his belly.

The voice spoke and it didn't calm him any, despite it sounding feminine and more friendly than one would imagine a seamonster to sound. Momentarily, he was too scared to speak but his breathing started again and he did feel a little better, but still afraid.

"Who are you?" he asked hesitantly, his voice small and shaky.

"Speech"

As she emerged, the wolf seemed... scared? Thorne had the same reaction! Was everyone scared of her? Well, that was bad! There wasn't anything scary about her! Was there? Big teeth and feet weren't that terrifying, were they? For a moment, she'd stopped and wondered if she could continue moving forwards, but she thought she best let the wolf know that he could trust her.

Iris slowly lifted her head out of the water and stood up, about half of her back visible above the water. Her crown hovered a few inches above the water so she was eye to eye with the wolf. At the question, she plopped her butt down in the water and blinked. Who was she? Oh yes! She knew who she was now! "Iris!" Yes, that was her name. "Who are you?" She just had to know! Her scales sparkled in the light as she raised her tail and lightly splashed her flukes in the water.

Even though the seamonster was eye level with him, it was still obvious that he couldnt see her. His pupils were always little pinpricks glossed over by a milky white. They would be large if he could see her. He could smell her though, and he could also hear that she was closer. Iris? he thought. The name sounded innocent enough.

"Ghost." he replied, his voice less afraid but still had a guarded edge to it. His posture wasn't so stiff either, but he was completely relaxed at all. He noticed her voice sounded young, though her imagined size did not equal it. She could be even smaller than he imagined, but eye level sounded pretty big to him. "Are you new?" In relation to him, of course. Ghost had been full grown for many cycles now, but he wouldn't be surprised if this was just a baby. Everyone seemed to be bigger than him.

As Iris lowered her head, she stared right into the eyes of the wolf. They were strange looking. Dull? That was the word. She swerved her head to the right side of the wolf with no sound, and his eyes didn't follow her. That was so odd. Poor child, didn't understand the concept of blindness. The hybrid moved her crown back where it was and sat a few feet away from the wolf.

Ghost. "Cool!" she squeaked and smiled, tail waving around excitedly. She stood up and splashed her feet in the water. Was she new? Iris thought for a moment. Well, she wasn't old. "Yeah!" Then she pranced around in the water, splashing all about. The hybrid scooted closer to the wolf and nudged him softly with her nose and clicked softly. "Play?"

As much as the seamonster frightened him, he didn't even flinch when she was in his face, doing whatever it was others did. She wasn't the first to get so close and look into his eyes, but Ghost also didn't know that's what they were doing when they got close. To him, it didn't feel any different than any of the others times, but this one wanted to play with him, and even started nudging him close to the water.

Fur standing on end, he agreed to stay on the beach with Iris as long as she didn't pull him him, but it seemed likely anyway. Ghost didn't like swimming much, even after Baratheon and him swam just a few cycles then came her. "What do you want to play?" he questioned the seamonster, hoping she had a better idea than he did...

As she stared at the wolf's eyes, her interest was still piqued. As he spoke, however, that interest quickly degenerated and then reformed elsewhere. Nudging him softly, Iris clicked and squealed. Tail swishing side to side, she strafed to her right towards the water and stamped her feet in the shallow waters happily.

"Water tag?" Water tag was so fun! Especially when you had a friend that knew how to swim really well. "Or, or Hide and Seek!" Hide and Seek was so fun! But Iris was really bad at it because she was so huge it was hard to find a good hiding place. She was also way too sparkly to hide very well. She'd give the blind albino the choice as she eagerly awaited a decision, teeth bared in a playful grin.

The nudge alarmed him, widening his eyes, but he calmed when he realized it was playful. This water creature hadn't done anything to illicit fear in the canine, but he was always so cautious. Her suggestions didn't sound plausible to the male however, and so he frowned. He couldn't play water tag, he assumed, and he couldn't do that much seeking either... especially if she hid in the water. He supposed there was a chance he could find her by smell if she were on land, but he didn't know if she could live outside the water. To be honest, he wasn't even sure what she was.

"I can't see; I don't think those games would really work for me." He frowned, really wanting to play with this gembound. But how? He couldn't see, he couldn't swim, so what were they supposed to do? Sit here and splash each other? Well, maybe..
