ORIGIN - no closer

It was a strange feeling, boredom. As the white hybrid lay on her back next to the Spire she found herself stretching out as far as her limbs would go, until her legs winced and cramped and her wings felt as though they were about to snap off her back. Licking her jowls, she stared at the ceiling.

Her father was probably somewhere near by - her uncle Fisher, who knew where, and Caravaggio was out somewhere being perfect and clean and stuff without her. She spat at the thought. She wasn't jealous of that or anything - but it did mean that, if you didn't count the dog watching her nearby - she was alone.

And boy, did White hate that.

The dog-crow whined and rolled onto her belly, an oversized talon scratching her shoulder idly as she looked around Polaris. It was practically empty - some rats running around here and there, maybe some gembounds who paid her no mind passing by, but nothing... exciting.

Life had been so exciting when she was new! Everything was an adventure! What happened now? Maybe she ought to find a new place. The hybrid managed to get up to all fours as she began creeping away from the Spire, before she stopped.

Where was she supposed to go anyway?

It wasn't fair. Khori had gone to his father in hopes that the large beast would approve of his request to go out an explore. His father had settled him with a look that Khori still wasn't sure he liked in the first place. He was shot down with rejection. His father stating he had plenty of things to explore in Polaris. So, off with a huff he had gone to continue exploring his birth place. At first paws stomped along, unhappy with the answer he was given, but it had soon been forgotten as the noodle wolf finally found things to entertain himself.

He bounded and ran all over the areas he was allowed to, never going near the area's his father had forbidden him to enter. Something about scary golems that could harm him if he got near them. Khori wasn't sure what a golem was just yet, but maybe one day he would sneak off to go have a peak. For now, he was content playing his solo games.

He began at the river, moving along until he found himself near the spire. He could hear the skittering of tiny mouse paws moving around the area and it wasn't long before hunger was gripping at him once again. Khoridai sniffed and fluttered his wings thoughtfully; maybe he could catch one. With that thought in mind, Khori began walking quietly along the spire. Moving around it until he could find his way to a few mice that were lingering around. As quietly as he could he lowered his front half, his rump up and wiggling as he prepared himself to pounce...

...With a battle cry Khori leaped from his spot and ran towards the mice. The mice startled instantly and dispersed instantly, racing away in all directions. Laughter spilled from Khoridai as he chased after one, but it wasn't long before a rock came out of no where. His foot hit the rock and he tripped, sending him tumbling forward with a loud yelp as he went rolling and ultimately smacked right into something.

"Ow!" He cried to himself as he ended up on his back, his wings squished beneath him. As he finally opened his eyes he found himself staring at white fur and panic arose within him. He scrambled up to his paws and back stepped away from the bigger canine creature. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to run into you. I didn't hurt nuthin' did I?" He furrowed his brows with worry. He should have been paying more attention. If he had then maybe he would have noticed the other gembound that was lingering around by the spire.

The crow-dog stopped dead in her tracks as a roar sounded throughout Polaris, wide-eyed. White wasn't a child anymore - growing up meant that her fearless curiousity had almost entirely left her.

Almost.

But before the hybrid could go to investigate the strange noise a mouse or two ran past her and into crevices in the rocks behind her. She blinked and turned, sniffing carefully after the mice. "What's wrong?" she murmured carefully to the lesser gembounds - as if actually expecting a reply.

And she did get a reply. In some way. It came in form of another gembound - long and white - like her! Only, totally not like her; it had wings similar to the thing she had seen cycles ago - long and leathery. It smacked into her rump, causing a raucous, bird-like noise to escape her throat.

Her initial thought was that she was under attack. The white hybrid turned and yelped out a strange croaking bark, though, upon finding it on the ground, stopped. "Uhhh," came White's amazing reply.

She looked left and she looked right. She decided that if she were in trouble her father would be around to save her - just in case. "...hi?"

There was a pause. "I mean-- no, I'm okay. Are you?"

It was a strange noise this creature made. So strange that it drew Khoridai's full curiosity. Long, fluffy ears perked into attention as his head cocked to the side in his curiosity. In this moment he took the time to look the bigger gembound over. She was pristine white as some of his own fur, carrying wings just like he did only they were covered in feathers in the same pristine white as her fur. Her voice drew his attention immediately and a goofy grin curled across his features as his tail began to sway to and fro behind him. He was glad he did not hurt her in his lack of paying attention to his surroundings.

"Yes! I'm okay. I'm glad you're okay," He grinned with a soft yip to his voice. He plopped back onto his haunches, his tail still continuing to wag behind him in a very canine manner. "My name is Khoridai!" He spoke proudly as he lifted one over sized paw and placed it to his chest as he curled his neck down to imitate a bow, "What's your name, miss?"

Ooc: Sorry it's kinda small.

White officially had no idea what was going on - she had no idea what the draconic creature was doing nor why he was calling her 'miss.' The hybrid decided to shake off the discomfort (and, in the process, herself) and sit back onto her talons.

With a careful lick to her jowls, she decided to ignore the whole 'miss' thing completely. "I'm White," the hybrid said with flickering ears. "That's what my dad said."

"Uh, pleased to meet you," White tilted her head almost quizzically.
