ORIGIN - It's My Day

It was quick. When he was ready, the foal kicked out with his hooves. It took some effort, but in no time, he was free. He was a rather lanky little chestnut with a bold white marking on his face. The emerald was like a horn on his face, which was beyond his own vision. It only makes sense that he was unaware of his gembound status, barely into the world and unable to know of his gem.

Now the trick - standing up. He started with his back legs, butt lifting high up while the rest of him wobbled and struggled to follow his butt. When he finally got on all fours, he braced with all four legs in a different direction, trying to keep him from falling as he wobbled. He kept trying to find the balance on his long stilts for legs. With several minutes passing, he was soon able to stand relatively well, which led to him doing some wobbly walking. He headed for the first thing he saw - green. His stomach was ready to be filled. Something about the smell and sight just drew him in with no effort.

The foal found a soft plant that was very palatable. He felt the rush of flavor, the moisture within sating his dry mouth. With a good nod of his head, he gave a little whinny, then continued grazing on the greenery that matched his gem almost perfectly. It didn't take much to make him feel full.

Now was time to put these legs to use! He turned and tried to trot, which he did with some awkward success. After some practice, he attempted running, and bucked almost instantly. Unfortunately, his energy was good, but his balance wasn't. He toppled over, unscathed, but shocked. He pulled himself back on his feet, swished his tail and looked around, hoping no one saw his accident. Satisfied with the surroundings, he went back to playing, trotting about and tossing his head.

Destiny waddled and she waddled, her podgy body rocking and her flat feet making little skittering slapping sounds as they fell flat on the ground. She flinched occasionally as her feet met ice but as far as coldness went, her thick fur and slight blubberiness protected her from the worst of its bite. She let out a few little purring noises as she wandered forwards, glancing around with her dark eyes that glittered and shone gentle colours in the dark lantern light.

Soon, the little one feared that she might turn back and return to Pisces; it was awfully cold and there was no water. She felt awkward on land and her flat feet found it difficult to grip the icy surface of the cave floor.

But the moment she started to slow, the little one heard loud noises in the cave ahead of her. Her disinterest in this tunnel was replaced by intense curiosity and she continued her little waddle with a newfound vigour. She loped forward, fast as her little legs could carry her, before suddenly skidding to a halt as a stranger suddenly appeared. They towered above her, and her eyes widened.

"Oh, my!" she mumbled quietly, a little bit of fear creeping into her tone for a split second as she craned her neck to look up at the sudden newcomer. "G'day to you, mate! Might I say, you do look... Dashing! Aha, aha!" She let out a warbling little laugh in her lightly accented tone.

It didn't take too terribly long for the foal to tire himself out. With one last kick of his heels, he heard a voice that made him skid to a stop and freeze, ears forward. After a few quick breaths, he searched for the source, finding a tiny, unusual creature low to the ground. He whipped his head and neighed before prancing closer, lowering his head down to curiously sniff the newcomer. His ears couldn't go any further forward, his tail held up as his forelegs spread slightly so he could reach the platypus.

"Who're you?" he inquired. He lifted his head up a little inspecting the mammal who appeared to be many things put together - not that he knew anything about it. His tail flicked back and forth, unaware of his own tail's actions. Far too focused on the curiosity before him.

@Destiny

The other one skidded to a halt- and lucky for her, Destiny didn't need to dive out of the way even if she readied herself to. Not that she'd be able to dive very far. The foal stretched down so that he could reach her and Destiny stretched up as well, as far as she could, trying to touch him with her little bill. In all, she was probably only just as big as his head, if that. At only 10cm long, she was hardly going to tower over anything.

"Name's Dest'ny!" she purred happily, blinking her shining eyes. "Who're you?" She examined him, watching him. How big and tall, and cute he was! The little platypus thought the foal was awfully dashing. Sniffling through her bill, she took in their odd scent and tried to mimic the twitching of his tail, with her big flat thing lifting slowly and thumping heavily down on the icy ground.

The touch of bill to velvet nose caused his lip to twitch playfully. He smiled at her as she announced her name to him, lowering his head back down to her. "My name's City!" he chimed. His tailed flailed back and forth with a good share of enthusiasm.

"Have ya seen all the green by that one room?" He couldn't possibly be any more vague, describing the entrance of Eridanus. He pranced in place and tossed his head, spun around and threw a back foot out before reaching his nose back down to Destiny.

@Destiny

"City! Oh, what a lovely name!" Destiny crooned, beaming as much as she could with her bill by opening it wide. Not really knowing any better, everything was just, lovely to her. Lovely, lovely, lovely! After the intense struggle she'd had just getting out of her Chrysalis, Destiny had come to appreciate all the little things in life. And golly, the world sure was worth it. In the half-light of the flickering lanterns, her eyes glimmered in every colour of the rainbow.

"Oh? I don't think so!" Destiny quivered, excited; except for faded mosses, she hadn't seen much green before. "Show me, show me!" She followed City with her gaze, flinging her head around as much as she was able. And then his nose was back. Destiny tried her best to jump and boop it with her tiny bill, only succeeding in pushing herself a few millimeters taller. She didn't even know what the room was, but she was eager to see it. Green was soo... fascinating! Everything she'd seen green had either been soft or slimy. It was so funny!

@City

City smiled at her and nodded excitedly. He trotted away, ready to show her all the green... and realized she wasn't with him when he got there. He blinked a few times in confusion, then trailed back to find her. He lowered his head to her again, then laid his ears back.

"You're not too fast, are ya?" He pranced around her. "Is there a way to get you there faster?" He looked up toward the green entrance, then back to her.

As soon as the horse started moving, Destiny did too. But she only had little flippers and lots of wrinkles and baby fat to get in the way, and soon fell behind, flopping forward rather humorously as she tried to pick up the pace. And then they were back, looking at her, and there was their big soft nose again. Destiny paused in her frantic waddling for a moment, breathing a little heavier than normal.

She laughed at his words, seeming a little embarrassed. "Ah... sorry!" that was all she could really think of to say, inwardly cursing her big flippers and wishing there was some water to travel in instead. "Uhm... I'm faster in water... But there ain't much water here." she looked around as though expecting water to suddenly pool beneath their feet. Once again she followed City as he pranced around her, and for comparison she waddled in a tiny circle.
