Silently Damian stood where he was as he watched the pup go bolting after a few lesser gem birds. The only thing keeping him from being annoyed was the fact that words suddenly filled his own mind. He stared at the puppy, attempting to try to grasp an understanding of what was going on. There was no doubt that some form of connection had suddenly established itself between the pup and himself. It was the question as to what and how it came to be that left Damian miffed on the entire situation.

The pups disappointment seemed to radiate throughout Damian and for a moment he was overcome by it. His ears flicked back before he turned a scowl to the ceiling. Quickly he shook himself and prowled towards the puppy. "Come, I will show you something better to try and play with," He spoke lowly, a dark smirk covering his features in sinister shadows. The birds may be too much for the pup for now, but perhaps a few cave deer would be better suited to his need to play. He could chase them all he wanted and perhaps he would find his instincts to actually kill one of the dumb animals. Damian would just have to find out. His thoughts were quiet as he moved from their current location, leading the puppy towards an area he was sure to find some cave deer in.

Those dastardly birds got away and he didn't even get a mouth of feathers for all his efforts. Pity. Tail slowly dragged back and forth across the ground before his attention was nabbed by Damian's voice. He tilted his head slightly, then smiled and jumped to his feet, tail trying to wag off of his butt. The elder promised a better adventure! Better play! He followed Damian, jogging along to the lycan's longer strides.

"You're big," he said, not even processing the thought in his head first. His tongue fell out of his mouth as he panted, gawking up at Damian and his weird wings. "How come I don't have wings?" It seemed quite reasonable to ask. His first encounter was wolf-to-wolf in his mind. So why on earth didn't he have some awesome wings?

His attention span proved short as he froze in place, nose wiggling as an interesting smell wafted to him. He put his nose down and followed the scent, tail up in an elevated position. What it was he smelled, he did not know, but that was why he needed to follow it. What curiosity lied at the end of this metaphorical rainbow?

Hearing the pups thoughts was something Damian was sure he would need to get used to. It was one thing to have to listen to his own thoughts, but it was another to hear anothers. At least with his own thoughts he could shut that shit down long enough for him to focus, or more importantly, sleep. Menzier's words suddenly gained Damian's attention and he glanced down towards the pup with a thoughtful smirk. "Not everyone can be graced with such things, Menzier," He spoke deeply, his voice laughing at the thought of Menzier's want of wings. Honestly, Damian wasn't even sure himself why he had wings. He certainly wasn't going to complain about it though.

Soon Damian was where he had aimed to bring the pup. A dark smirk shadowed across his features once again as his amber eyes settled over the herd of cave deer that were gathered in an area with only one exit out unless they decided to jump and climb over some rocks. "There, try your luck with those," He spoke as he moved to block the single entrance of the area. He was sure the cave deer could and probably would jump over the sides should they be desperate enough, but at least Menzier would spend as much energy as he needed chasing the stupid things around until they figured that out. For now he would sit here and make sure they didn't try to get out easily.

Eyes met the herd of deer, mind curious as to what exactly they were. Menzier stood to stare at them, stealing a glance at Damian before moving towards the little long legged things. His tail was up, wagging slowly as he carefully approached them, nose working hard. Suddenly, one spotted him and flagged it's tail, signaling the rest. They all began to flee away from him and he took off into a gallop.

With big leaps and flailing tongue, Menzier bounced around, causing the deer to spread and bound away. Whenever he got on one's heels, he would snap his teeth, trying to grab the tail or a leg. He always seemed to just be out of reach though, sometimes yipping loudly as he playfully chased them with a ping of instinct bubbling subtly.

The pup spun around as the deer he was chasing dodge out of his way, catching one that was trying to pass him by off guard. He jumped at it's face, latching onto the animal's nose. It's eyes widened and it backpedaled hard. It reared and tried to paw Menzier, catching him once. He yelped and let go, but was soon jumping back up to it, the taste of blood making his prey drive soar.

This time, his teeth sank into it's neck, just under the head where the neck was thinnest. His top teeth snagged the back of it's neck while his lower jaw clamped into it's throat, dooming it instantly. He squirmed as he dangled, the deer fighting for it's life, clueless that it was already over. His weight dragged the smallish beast down, the two struggling and flailing. Menzier growled with a playful tone, tugging the animal and occasionally shaking his head. When there was a little pop of it's neck, it tensed it's legs and gasped for a breath, then passed.

Menzier didn't let go just yet, his head lifting in attempts to carry the dead animal. He tried to turn it around and pack it, barely getting anywhere. He released then grabbed it's leg and tugged, trying to pull it more, still not getting very far, the body only inching along. He jumped around and barked at it, tail wagging furiously as his drive to hunt and his desire to play meshed awkwardly, making the entire situation just a bit confusing for the pup.

Finally, he plopped his butt to the ground, looking up at Damian with his tongue lolling about with hints of the deer's blood on it and his teeth.
